SARKOZY: OBAMA'S AN EMPTY SUIT ON FOREIGN POLICY

French president Nicholas Sarkozy has summed up the problems with Barack Obama's foreign policy positions (Hat tip: Hot Air):
French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama’s positions on Iran, according to reports that have reached Israel’s government.

Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate’s stance on Iran as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”

Obama visited Paris in July, and the Iranian issue was at the heart of his meeting with Sarkozy. At a joint press conference afterward, Obama urged Iran to accept the West’s proposal on its nuclear program, saying that Iran was creating a serious situation that endangered both Israel and the West. According to the reports reaching Israel, Sarkozy told Obama at that meeting that if the new American president elected in November changed his country’s policy toward Iran, that would be “very problematic.”
Wow. Now that's saying something. Indeed it would be a problem, since no way is Iran going to cease their nuclear warfare building by just asking them.

On France24 Television news, they tried to make it sound as though Europe prefers Obama. This should prove otherwise, and it's also a very good warning of some of the things that could go wrong under an Obama-led government.

UK'S FOREIGN SECRETARY WANTS TO ADD THE ME TO THE EU

Foreign Secretary David Miliband now wishes to extend the EU single market to cover north Africa and the Middle East.
What a plan. Tens of millions more Muslims could then move into Europe and Eurabia would be complete.

Bring on the Sharia. Chop the heads off all the gay people. Kill the apostates, and all those who would make fun of that friggin' Mohammed. Stone all the lying b*****s who cheat on their husbands.

That's what you invite in, when you invite tens of millions of Muslims to live in your countries.

You don't believe me, my multiculti friend? Well, the UK daily Telegraph says that 40% of Muslims would like Sharia law adopted in the UK.

And now, the UK's Foreign Minister wants to allow every Muslim in the Middle East and Africa to move in and have citizenship anywhere in Europe.

What do you think of that?

Read it and weep:
This is madness. One of the rules of the single market is complete freedom of movement of labour within it. So Mr Miliband’s plan would give millions of impoverished Asian and African Muslims the legal right to settle in Britain. Even the limpest of liberals would surely acknowledge that one thing the UK is not presently suffering from is an acute shortage of Muslim immigrants.

The Government’s latest proposed security measures are depressing developments which ministers justify by pointing to the growing threat of Islamist terrorism.

The Muslim communities already established in Britain have not integrated successfully. They are heavily dependent on benefits, hostile to freedom of expression, prone to political corruption and not accepting of equality for women. As well as fully-fledged terrorists, they contain many fundamentalists who wish to destroy our democracy by bringing Britain under a global Islamic caliphate.
You owe it to yourselk to go read the "Reader's Comments" as well.

MORE IDIOCY FROM FREIDMAN: SAYS CLEAN CARS AND SHINY AIRPORTS MORE IMPORTANT THAN DEFENDING THE FREE WORLD

TO PSEUDO-INTELLECTUALS AND POSTMODERN LEFTISTS LIKE FRIEDMAN, FIGHTING THE BOGEYMAN OF CO2-INDUCED AGW IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN COUNTER-ATTACKING THE JIHADISTS - AL QAEDA AND IRAN.

IDIOCY.

WHICH IS ALL I EVER EXPECT FROM FRIEDMAN.

HERE'S A LINK TO MY PREVIOUS CRITIQUE OF FRIEDMAN.

Complete round up at MEMEORANDUM.

[BTW: Friedman's last book was titled THE WORLD IS FLAT, and the premise of the book was the cliched idea that IT revolution has made the world smaller, that there is no more "there" only "here". The title employs a metaphor WHICH IS DIRECTLY THE OPPOSITE OF THAT MESSAGE: In a flat world, you CAN'T get there from here; you fall off the face of the Earth. The fact that the Earth is ROUND is what made the advent of the Columbian Age so revolutionizing. COMPLETE ANALYSIS OF THIS POINT HERE.]

Democrats Not Following Orders

It seems a new Osama tape has surfaced and bin Laden is really pissed with the Democrats.
"People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there."
Well my Democrat friends, are you going to follow bin Laden's orders or not?

Don Surber says not.
After a month-long vacation, Democrats returned to the nation’s capital this week, an army in disarray. They left in August confident that Republicans would go home, get chewed out about the war, and raise the white flag. Instead, the Surge worked and the Democrats are losing it.

S.A. Miller at the Washington Times reported:
Rank-and-file Democrats in Congress are criticizing the party’s leaders for allowing the White House to sap momentum from the antiwar movement during the August recess.

“The White House is taking great advantage of the Democrats not pushing back,” said Rep. Lynn Woolsey, California Democrat and co-founder of the antiwar Out of Iraq Caucus.

“We need bolder steps from the Democrats,” she said. “The people of this country are waiting for some leadership — some bold leadership — from the people that they elected to be the majority of the House and the Senate.”
It appears that Osama is waiting for that same kind of leadership.

I think it is well past time that the Democrats made up their collective minds and decide whose side are they on.

THE ROAD TO BAGHDAD GOES THROUGH ATLANTA

IT'S A HISTORY LESSON, NOT A GEOGRAPHY LESSON.

FOR THE COPPERHEADS. (MORE ON COPPERHEAD DEFEATISM HERE. AND HERE.)

CONGRESSMEN CLAIM TRUTH-TELLING IS "BEING SLIMED"

WASH POST (VIA MEMEORANDUM): Lawmakers Describe 'Being Slimed in the Green Zone'
The sheets of paper seemed to be everywhere the lawmakers went in the Green Zone, distributed to Iraqi officials, U.S. officials and uniformed military of no particular rank. So when Rep. James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.) asked a soldier last weekend just what he was holding, the congressman was taken aback to find out.

In the soldier's hand was a thumbnail biography, distributed before each of the congressmen's meetings in Baghdad, which let meeting participants such as that soldier know where each of the lawmakers stands on the war. "Moran on Iraq policy," read one section, going on to cite some the congressman's most incendiary statements, such as, "This has been the worst foreign policy fiasco in American history."

The bio of Rep. Ellen O. Tauscher (D-Calif.) -- "TAU (rhymes with 'now')-sher," the bio helpfully relates -- was no less pointed, even if she once supported the war and has taken heat from liberal Bay Area constituents who remain wary of her position. "Our forces are caught in the middle of an escalating sectarian conflict in Iraq, with no end in sight," the bio quotes.

"This is beyond parsing. This is being slimed in the Green Zone," Tauscher said of her bio.
WE DON'T SLIME THE "ANTI-WAR" LEFT.

WE TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT THEM AND THEY JUST THINK IT'S SLIME!

WE'RE KICKING THE ENEMY'S ASS IN AFGHANISTAN

BBC:
US-led forces in Afghanistan say they have been involved in a major battle against suspected Afghan insurgents in the southern Kandahar province.

More than 100 militants were reported to have been killed, but there was no independent confirmation of the figure.

A statement said fighting erupted when insurgents ambushed a joint Afghan-US force in Shah Wali Kot. Aircraft bombed the insurgents' positions.
Lookit folks: it's going well in Iraq and Afghanistan. We demolish the enemy whenever and wherever we make contact with him.

Which is why we're gonna be hearing an awful lot about the "panic" in the credit markets for the next few months... it's all the Dems and their leftist allies in the MSM can smear us with...

OH: AND WE'LL HEAR A LOT ABOUT "AGW", TOO!

THE NEW KKK: Kennedy, Kerry and Kos

TO ALL MY DEMOCRAT FRIENDS:
IT'S NOT YOUR PARTY ANYMORE; IT'S THEIRS.
(CLICK ON EACH PHOTO FOR MORE ON EACH DEMOCRAT PARTY LEADR.)

DoJ RANK & FILE OUTRAGED AT HIGHER-UPS' DHIMMITUDE

According to a story in the Washington Times (hat tip: Kathryn Lopez), rank & file staff at the Department of Justice have objected to the fact that the Department is "co-sponsoring a convention held by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) — an unindicted co-conspirator in an ongoing federal terrorist funding case."
"There is outrage among lawyers that the Department of Justice is funding a group named as a co-conspirator in a terrorist financing case," said a Justice lawyer who spoke to The Washington Times on the condition of anonymity. [Emphasis added.]
The Holy Land Foundation terrorist financing case is "the largest terror financing trial in history, implicating some very high-profile Islamic advocacy groups." So why is the Department of Justice doing it?

"This is an important outreach opportunity, and a chance to reach a community that is at once very much discriminated against, and very wary of the national government and its willingness to protect them," Mrs. Lorenzo-Giguere said in an e-mail obtained by The Washington Times.

"It would be a great step forward to break through those barriers. And Chicago is lovely this time of year," Mrs. Lorenzo-Giguere said.
Goes right along with the State Department training jihadi terrorists, doesn't it?

Updated and Bumped - IRAQ: STANDING AT THE CROSS-ROADS

Reagan and CarterBa'athist Party loyalists are waiting like vultures for America's defeat with one eye on signs of Coalition weakness and the other on the Iraqi seat of power. No wonder they are being compared to the notorious Khmer Rouge of another era. A disaster for both America and Iraq would deliver a huge psychological victory directly into the hands of the Defeatocrats. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out why Hillary is calling for the withdrawal of the troops and the removal of the present Iraqi government.

President Bush's recent comparison between the pullout of the current conflict and Vietnam is an important one as there are some parallels that need to be considered. There is an excellent article taken from 'The Weekly Standard' which begins with the opening, 'Like a pig in muck, the Left loves to wallow in Vietnam. But only in their "Vietnam". Not in the real Vietnam war.'

The writer describes how while the U.S. Left celebrated the country's pullout from the war, in Phnom Penh, former Cambodian prime minister Sirk Matak wrote to John Gunther Dean, the U.S. ambassador, turning down his offer of the evacuation which would have saved his life:
Dear Excellency and Friend:I thank you very sincerely for your letter and for your offer to transport me towards freedom. I cannot, alas, leave in such a cowardly fashion. As for you, and in particular for your great country, I never believed for a moment that you would have this sentiment of abandoning a people which has chosen liberty. You have refused us your protection, and we can do nothing about it. You leave, and my wish is that you and your country will find happiness under this sky. But, mark it well, that if I shall die here on the spot and in my country that I love, it is no matter, because we all are born and must die. I have only committed this mistake of believing in you [the Americans].

Please accept, Excellency and dear friend, my faithful and friendly sentiments.

S/Sirik Matak

The writer goes on to explain that "the Khmer Rouge took Phnom Penh a few days later. Sirik Matak was executed: shot in the stomach, he was left without medical help and took three days to die. Between 1 and 2 million Cambodians were murdered by the Khmer Rouge in the next three years. Next door, tens of thousands of Vietnamese were killed, and many more imprisoned. Hundreds of thousands braved the South China Sea to reach freedom.

The United States welcomed the refugees--but we were in worldwide retreat.'

This is the real reason why Vietnam is remembered as a disaster, by the defeat and aftermath. The Democrats would love us to pull out again so that the current war will be Vietnam revisited. Today Iraq has its own Khmer Rouge waiting on the sidelines, confident of moving in, exacting revenge, carrying out a blood bath, bending the country to their will and humiliating the West, in particular those countries which participated in the effort to restore order in the region by this war.

Saddam's henchmen, the Ba'athists, who are at the moment exiled in Syria are waiting in the wings for America to pull out. Their spokesman, puffing on a Havana cigar is all boasts:

"Blair made Britain a satellite for the US," said the man, who identified himself as Abu Mohammad during a rare interview in a Damascus coffee shop.

"Bush humiliated America and Blair humiliated Britain. If they [Britain] pull out they will break one wing of the occupation."

He speaks with the confidence of a man who is ready to 'pave the way' for American withdrawal (which he sees as inevitable) and who can already see himself with a position of power in a Ba'ath run Iraq.

This party is recognized as the undermining force which has been behind the attacks on the Coalition and has links with many insurgents in Iraq.

The Ba'athists, you can be sure, are every bit as bloodthirsty and vicious as the Khmer Rouge. They can taste the blood-soaked taste of power, and smell the sweet smell of resounding defeat for the Coalition.

The archetypal Conservative leader, Reagan led the U.S. out of the wilderness of the Carter era. After years of Leftist wishy-washy appeasements and the perverse and weak-willed policies of Carteresque Democratic government, Reagan was like a breath of fresh air. I close with a quote from a speech by Reagan that rocked the Left in the 1980s:

"As the years dragged on, we were told that peace would come if we would simply stop interfering and go home. It is time we recognized that ours was, in truth, a noble cause. There is a lesson for all of us in Vietnam. If we are forced to fight, we must have the means and determination to prevail."

Yes, President Reagan. We hear you loud and clear!

UPDATE: PUNDITARIAN ADDS THIS ANGLE - ASKING:

DO BARRY OBAMA & JOHNNY EDWARDS WANT MORE LETTERS LIKE THIS ONE?

In April 1975, American Ambassador John Gunther Dean invited Cambodian Prince Sisowath Sirik Matak to flee Phnom Penh ahead of the Khmer Rouge.

Sirik Matak was a cousin of the ruling Prince Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia, and while the ruling Prince was hobnobbing with the Communists in Beijing, he participated in a coup d'etat which established a pro-Western, free-market based republic in Cambodia. Norodom Sihanouk sided with the communists, and collaborated with the Khmer Rouge from his sanctuary in China.

In reply to Ambassador Dean's offer of escape, Prince Sisowath Sirik Matak sent this letter:
"Dear Excellency and Friend,

I thank you very sincerely for your letter and your offer to transport me towards freedom. I cannot, alas, leave in such a cowardly fashion.

As for you, and in particular for your great country, I never believed for a moment that you would have this sentiment of abandoning a people, which has chosen liberty.

You have refused us your protection, and we can do nothing about it.

You leave, and my wish is that you and your country will find happiness under this sky. But, mark it well, that if I shall die here on the spot and in my country that I love, it is too bad, because we are all born and must die one day.

I have committed this mistake of believing in you, the Americans.

Please accept, Excellency, my dear friend, my faithful and friendly sentiments. Prince Sirik Matak."
The Prince was murdered by the Khmer Rouge less than two weeks later, and the elimination of the nation's non-communist leaders foreshadowed the brutal and ruthless genocide of the "killing fields."

I encourage Barry Obama and John Edwards to look at the faces of the victims of the Khmer Rouge in photographs taken as they faced their executioners, here.

Then let them
tell us again why "preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn't a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces" in Iraq.

RELIAPUNDIT ADDS:

THE VERY SAME DEMS WHO AGITATED FOR ABANDONING OUR ALLIES THEN ARE DOING IT NOW:
  • JOHN KERRY AND TEDDY JO KENNEDY AND THE MCGOVERN/CORLISS & NED LAMONT-(DAILY KOS) WING OF THE PARTY.
THEY WERE IN CONTROL OF CONGRESS THEN. THEY ARE BACK IN CONTROL NOW.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT BUSH IS STRONGER THAN FORD WAS THEN, AND THE DEMOCRAT MAJORITY IN CONGRESS WEAKER, (BUT NOT BY MUCH).

IN 2008 ALL THIS COMES UP FOR A VOTE.

WE MUSTN'T LET THE KKK - THE KENNEDY-KERRY-KOS GANG - CALL THE SHOTS.

WE'LL GET THE SAME RESULTS:
  • IT WILL EMBOLDEN OUR ENEMIES AND LEAD TO GENOCIDE AND DECADES OF RETREAT IN WHICH TENS IF NOT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WILL BE FORCED TO LIVE UNDER TYRANNY.
ONLY THE USA CAN LEAD THE FREE WORLD. AND ONLY IF WE KEEP THE DEMS OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE.

HERE'S HOW THE DEMS PLAN TO WEAKEN US FOR YEARS TO COME

From Newsweek's interesting article on the hunt for Bin Laden (hat tip: Charles Johnson):
In Pakistan, President Musharraf was wary of his American allies in the War on Terror. In 2002, he told a high-ranking British official: "My great concern is that one day the United States is going to desert me. They always desert their friends." According to this official, who declined to be identified sharing a confidence, Musharraf cited the U.S. pullouts from Vietnam in the 1970s, Lebanon in the 1980s and Somalia in the 1990s.
The refusal of the Democratic Congress to fund our South Vietnamese allies after 1974 was what caused the fall of Saigon, not the withdrawal of the last American combat trooper in 1973.

And I know that America's precipitate and ineffectual retreat from Lebanon was President Reagan's call -- his one major foreign policy mistake, I think.

But running out of Somalia with his rail between his legs, after what was by any rational measure a stunning victory in the streets of Mogadishu, was how Bill Clinton signaled Bin Laden that Americans would be easily pushed over.

What a contrast from President John F. Kennedy's ringing promise:
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
Every action that every country takes has consequences.

We paid for years a heavy price for the Democrats' desertion of South Vietnam. Our allies around the world paid a heavy price.

Our troops in the field are today paying the price for the Democrats' vacillation and pusillanimity today. Every time a Democratic leader, particularly a Democratic presidential candidate, promises retreat and surrender, the enemy is emboldened and strengthened.

An American surrender in Iraq and/or Afghanistan would provide jihadists around the world with inspiration to continue and escalate their terroristic war for years to come.

We must make the Democrats understand that the only way we can -- at the ballot box. A vote for any Democratic Party candidate at any level is a vote for the jihad. We may not agree with the GOP on every issue that comes along, but we can not afford to encourage the enemy.

IRAQ BY THE NUMBERS; IF THIS IS LOSING , THEN THE USA HAS BECOME PACIFIST

GATEWAY HAS THE FACTS AND FIGURES AND LINKS AND CHARTS. HERE'S PONE CHART:

  • IF - BASED ON THESE NUMBERS - WE CANNOT SUSTAIN THIS EFFORT AGAINST THIS MOST HORRIBLE FOE, THEN WE HAVE BECOME PACIFISTS.

  • NO: PUSSIES.

  • AND THE ENEMY WILL SEE THAT - AND STEP UP THEIR ATTACKS EVERYWHERE.

  • AND OUR ERSTWHILE ALLIES WILL SEE IT TOO - AND THEY WILL RUN FOR THE HILLS

IF WE DO, WE'D MIGHT AS WELL LET AL QAEDA CALL THE SHOTS.

AL QAEDA TORTURE CHAMBER DISCOVERED SOUTH OF BAGHDAD

IOL/AFP:
US troops have discovered a building south of Baghdad which is believed to have been used as an execution chamber by Al-Qaeda militants, the military said on Saturday.

"The ground forces found human skulls, decomposing bodies and bones wrapped in bloody clothes" in the majority Sunni inhabited Arab Jubur area on the southern outskirts of Baghdad, the military said.

"Wild dogs were rampant around the area, which was characterised by a crater where most of the human remains were dumped. Inside a nearby building, the ground forces found blood spatter and other signs indicating executions had taken place there."

The chamber was found during a day long operation earlier this week which also resulted in the discovery of a car bomb factory, the military said.
24.com/AFP:
It said intelligence reports indicated the area was used by Al-Qaeda in Iraq operatives.

Eight suspected militants were detained during the raid, it added.
DO THE DEMS REALLY WANT US TO CUT & RUNS FROM THE MONSTERS THAT DO THIS?

Yes; they do. And letting these islamothugs win in Iraq won't make the world, let alone the USA or the Middle East - a safer place. But the Dems don't care about our safety anymore than they care about the troops. It's all a phony pose.

The Dems think that Abu Ghraib was just as bad under US control as it was under Saddam's control. Teddy Jo Kennedy and Little Dick Durbin have said as much.

But Saddam's torture chambers and Al Qaeda's a REAL torture chambers.

Abu Ghraib under the USA was just a poorly run prison where a few psycho US soldiers broke the rules. AND GOT PUNISHED FOR IT.

Many Dems who voted fopr the war now say it was a mistake. They say Iraq was better under Saddam. And we were safer.

DON'T THEY REMEMBER THINGS LIKE THIS:

WHY ARE THE DEMS PROMOTING
A CUT&RUN POLICY? They are trying to exploit the fact that many Americans are tired of the war --- a war which the MSM tells them they are losing.

Why is the MSM lying? The MSM is dominated by Leftists. All the leftist dominated MSM wants is to get the LEFTIST DOMINATED DEMS back into the White House. All the Dems want is power so that they may inflict their Leftist policies on us:
  • nationalizing healthcare (1/7th of our economy!);
  • raising taxes on business and wealthy people - and on CO2!
Don't fall for it.

Warner: Start Bringing Troops Home By Christmas

I know the theme of the Astute Bloggers is that we give decisive, and concise opinions on the issues of the day, but I'll be honest; I don't know where I come down on this one:
WASHINGTON - Sen. John Warner, a prominent Republican on military affairs, urged President Bush on Thursday to start bringing some troops home from Iraq by Christmas. Such a move would send a powerful warning to the Baghdad government that time is running out, said Warner, R-Va.

Warner said the president next month should announce the withdrawal of a certain number of troops to send a "sharp and clear message throughout the region and the United States" that the commitment in Iraq is not open ended.
The only opinion I have, and this is kind of a half-assed opinion, is that it seems to me the Iraqi government truly have not shown us the gratitude we deserve. And, I think al-Maliki is a snake.
I think Warner has a bit of a point when he says that, perhaps, we need to send the Iraqi government a signal. But likely, there is a better way to do so.

Thing is, it's easy to give up, but doing the right thing is almost always the harder choice.

RELIAPUNDIT: I have no problem calling Warner what he is: A TIRED OLD SACK OF SELF-SERVING, ENEMY APPEASING CRAP. And by enemy I mean al Qaeda, Iran and the Democrats.

He also said (SAME LINK AS ABOVE):
"We simply cannot as a nation stand and continue to put our troops at continuous risk of loss of life and limb without beginning to take some decisive action," he told reporters after a White House meeting with Bush's top aides.

Warner's new position is a sharp challenge to a wartime president that will undoubtedly color the upcoming Iraq debate on Capitol Hill.
SINCE WHEN IS RETREATING "DECISIVE ACTION"?!?! And to come out and say this now - before Petraeus has reported - and while we are making TONS of progress, militarily - is asinine.

Warner is an ass. I wish he'd retire.

If you want to learn what we must do in Iraq and why, then read and listen to Bush's speech before the VFW. IT WAS GRRRRRREAT! (LISTEN HERE.)

Bush gets it. Warner and the Defeatocrats he imitates do not.

DON'T BELIEVE THE DEFEATISTS: WE'RE KICKING AL QAEDA'S ASS IN AFGHANISTAN

BBC:
US and Afghan forces searching for militants on the Pakistani border have inflicted heavy casualties on al-Qaeda and Taleban fighters, officials say.

The governor of Ningrahar province said that the operation in Tora Bora was going "very well" and that al-Qaeda and the Taleban had suffered heavy losses.

But a spokesman for the governor, Nooar Agha Zwak, said he could not give precise casualty details.

Officials in Ningrahar say the area has many Afghan and foreign militants.

'Precision munitions'

Local residents say that so far around 250 families have fled the area after two days of fighting, in which US and Afghan air and ground forces pounded al-Qaeda militants.

The US military said that "al-Qaeda and other violent extremist fighters" had been engaged in the fighting during a "combined arms assault using precision munitions".

US air strikes on Tora Bora in December 2001

There were no substantiated reports of civilian casualties in the fighting, a statement said, contradicting earlier reports that many civilians had been killed.
AY, YO, OBAMA: STFU!

POLLS SHOW THAT MOST PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY DISMISSED PETRAEUS BEFORE HE HAS EVEN REPORTED

CNN:
A majority of Americans don't trust the upcoming report by the Army's top commander in Iraq on the progress of the war and even if they did, it wouldn't change their mind, according to a new poll. ... Of those opposed to the war, 47 percent said Petreaus' report could not change their mind while 17 percent said it could.

...CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said he doesn't think the mistrust is directed at Petreaus as much as it is what he represents.

"It does seem to indicate that anyone associated with the Bush administration may be a less than credible messenger for the message that there is progress being made in Iraq," Holland said.
Most people who call themselves "anti-war" have made up their minds already.

And they will ignore everything Petraeus says - except the negative stuff.

And they have the AUDACITY to call themselves the reality-based community. HA!

Who is to blame for this? The MSM and the Dem leadership - like Harry Reid who MONTHS ago proclaimed Iraq lost.

I think we need to see the Iraq War through to a successful completion NO MATTER WHAT.
To me, the Petraeus report is important not because it will show whether raq is winnable, but whether we currently have a good strategy to win it - FOR WIN IT WE MUST.

JOHN KERRY DOESN'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD "VICTORY"

Yahoo/AP:
Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, argued that the Bush administration's lack of planning for the occupation of Iraq shows Congress needs to be involved in planning the withdrawal.

"The Pentagon ought to be planning to save lives, not save face," Kerry said.
Planning withdrawal!?!? Before the job is done. SHEESH. Did Ike do this in 1944!?

No, Senator; the Pentagon ought to planning how we win.

WINNING: now that's a word which Kerry has probably never used in relation to any US military effort. He only knows about retreating and then slandering the troops.

Kerry is left-wing dove scum. Like Obama and Edwards and Hillary.

Patton knew what wars were about and how they're WON :
  • War is a killing business. You must spill the enemy's blood or they will spill yours.
  • ... The pacifists are at it again. I met a 'visiting fireman' of great eminence who told me that this was to be the 'last war'. I told him that such statements since 2600 B.C. had signed the death warrants of millions of young men. He replied with the stock lie, 'Oh yes, but things are different now'. My God! Will they never learn?
  • The pacifist actually refuses to defend what defends him; his country. In the final analysis this is the most basic immoral position.
  • ... Politicians are the lowest form of life on the earth. Liberal Democrats are the lowest form of politician.
HOW TRUE: Politicians are the lowest form of life on the earth. Liberal Democrats are the lowest form of politician.

And Kerry and Edwards and Hillary and Obama are the LOWEST form of liberal Democrat.
