ZARQAWI KILLED IN IRAQ BY TARGETED US BOMBING RAID

BBC:
The head of US-led forces in Iraq, General George Casey, said Zarqawi was killed at 1815 (1415 GMT) on Wednesday, in an air strike against an "isolated safe house... approximately 8km (five miles) north of Baquba.

"Iraqi police were first on the scene after the air strike," he said, followed shortly afterwards by coalition forces. Zarqawi was said to have been in a meeting with associates at the time. Several other people were reported to have been killed in the raid. General Casey said Zarqawi's body was identified through fingerprints, facial recognition and known scars.
OIL DROPS BELOW $70. AL QAEDA ON THE RUN. DEMOCRACY ON THE MOVE. LEFTISTS DISAPPOINTED.

GOD BLESS THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

BTW: We will get Binladen and Zawahiri, too. More HERE. And HERE. IRAQ THE MODEL comments HERE.

UPDATE: As PROOF that the Arab world and Iraq's immediate neighborhood is increasingly on OUR side, this item from "REUTERS":
Jordanian intelligence helped in the operation that led to the killing of al Qaeda's leader in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi on Thursday, a Jordanian spokesman said. "There has been early exchange of intelligence information with the United States that helped in the operation that killed Zarqawi," government spokesman Nasser Joudeh told Reuters.

Jordanian-born Zarqawi, who had sworn loyalty to Osama bin Laden, had come to symbolise the radical Islamic insurgency against U.S. occupation in which thousands had been killed.
As Binladen once said, when peple see a weak horse and a strong horse they are naturally drawn to the strong horse. We are the strong horse.

ADDENDUM - via POWERLINE: Casey:
“Tips and intelligence from Iraqi senior leaders from his network led forces to al-Zarqawi and some of his associates who were conducting a meeting approximately eight kilometers north of Baqubah when the air strike was launched."
TIPS. The Iraqis want to be free. Just like most people.

UPDATE: FITTING COINCIDENCE (Via GATEWAY): THE USS COLE DEPARTS FOR THE PERSIAN GULF. Like the death of Zarqawi, this shows the evil-doers they cannot defeat us.

The US Army has done a pretty good job, Well done guys!
But unfortunately the war on terror is still far away from being over.

Zarqawi represented the leadership of about 10% of the resistance. But Bush through the years has portrayed him as if he and Al Qaeda was the dominant majority of it--which in reality is NATIVE,NOT FOREIGN SUNNI.
