Eleven people hired to register potential voters in Miami-Dade County before last year's presidential election were being sought Wednesday for falsifying hundreds of voter registration cards.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office issued arrest warrants for each of the 11 suspects, all of whom worked for the local chapter of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, (ACORN).

By early Wednesday morning, six were in custody, authorities said.

THAT WOULD BE THE SAME ACORN WHICH OBAMA LIED ABOUT NEVER WORKING FOR.

THEY HELPED HIM STEAL THE NOMINATION FROM HILLARY IN THE CAUCUSES AND TO STEAL THE THE ELECTION FROM MCCAIN IN OHIO, MISSOURI, PENNSYLVANIA, FLORIDA AND ELSEWHERE.

The idiotic attacks these leftist trolls have made on me and this blog have been peppered with blatantly anti-Semitic remarks: it proves that Jews and Israel and Israelis are obviously okay to hate for racial reasons if you're a leftist.

And speaking of race and Israel, one of the things in my life I am most proud of is donating many THOUSANDS of dollars to help relocate Ethiopian Jews from Ethiopia to Israel, and money to help them integrate into Israel.

Another idiotic and ignorant point several of these spamming leftists have made is that they argue that me and my blog have been silent on Sudan except to use it as a cudgel to criticize anti-Semites who would heap tons of blame on Israel for things 1/1,000,000th as bad as what had been going on in the Sudan during the same time.

Regular readers know this is nonsense. This blog criticized the lack of action by Bush and Powell on this front, and by Clinton and Kofi Anan for allowing the Rwandan genocide to occur.

Me and my co-bloggers oppose global jihad in large part because we believe in universal human rights for all people of every race EVERYWHERE.

We don't just oppose jihad in Europe; we oppose it in Philippines, in Thailand, in India, in Pakistan, in Afghanistan, in Iran, in Iraq, in Egypt, in Turkey, in Morocco, in Algeria, well: EVERYWHERE.

All the Dirty Dirt Olbermann and His Minions Dug Up on Beck

Drumroll: He's Glenn Beck, bitch.

I could do better than that off the top of my head. He's a recovering alcoholic and a convert to Mormonism. That hardly qualifies as dirt, but it's still better than they did.

Olbermann then goes on and on and on about having been victimized by those right-wing extremists at the New York Times. He can't wrap his head around why anyone would frown upon employing McCarthyism in order to make an 'argument' which would ensure anyone's non-matriculation to second grade. Doing so is not only tasteless, trashy, and the opposite of journalism, but a sure-fire indicator of mental disability. It's like I explained to Pasto yesterday:

Nobody, as far as I know, has ever disproven a single claim Beck has ever made and I know that he has never rescinded a story. Remember, whenever someone attacks the messenger, they have already de facto admitted that they are 100% wrong, have absolutely no case whatsoever, and can only resort to logical fallacies. That's what they try to do with Beck, but they consistently fail at failing, too. Beck's cards are on the table and he's very self-deprecating. Whether or not Beck's a loon, which he's not, is immaterial. When they go after him instead of the message you know that he's right, and they can't even manage to play the ad hominem logical fallacy right.

One of the key indicators of mental retardation is a lack of logical faculties. By going after Beck in ad hominem attacks in order to presumably undermine his work, Olbermann has unequivocally proven himself to be a few cards short of a deck and Beck to be right on the money.

Maybe jealousy over this has driven him insane, especially since Beck's time slot is terrible and Olbermann's is smack in the middle of prime time:

COLOSSAL COIN CACHE FROM BAR KOCHVA ERA FOUND

In archaeology news, a big stash from the time of Bar Kochva has been discovered:

JERUSALEM (AFP) – Archaeologists in Israel have found the largest ever cache of rare coins from the time of the last Jewish revolt against the Romans, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem said on Wednesday.

The cache includes 120 gold, silver and bronze coins, as well as some pottery and weapons.

It was found in a cave in the Judaean Hills near Jerusalem that served as a hiding place for the Jewish fighters during the so-called Bar Kokhba revolt (132-136 CE), named after its leader.

"This discovery verifies the assumption that the refugees of the revolt fled to caves in the centre of a populated area in addition to the caves found in more isolated areas of the Judaean Desert," said Amos Frumkin of the Hebrew University.

Most of the coins are in excellent condition and "were overstruck as rebels' coins on top of Roman coins" with imprints showing Jewish images and words such as the facade of the Temple in Jerusalem and the slogan "for the freedom of Jerusalem," the university said in a statement.

Bar-Kokhba coins of this quality and quantity have never before been discovered in one location, it said.

And there you have it, more excellent news in Jewish history.

Wheat Growers Now Oppose Cap-and-Trade Bill

I grew up in Enid, Okla., a community once known as the Wheat Capital of the World, so I appreciate Sen. James Inhofe’s excitement upon learning that the board of the National Wheat Growers Association had shifted its position and now opposes “Cap and Trade” (i.e., the Waxman-Markey Climate Change Bill).

“I’m pleased that the organization representing the interests of wheat growers nationwide has reached the right conclusion,” said Senator Inhofe, a Republican and the ranking member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. “Cap-and-trade legislation and potential EPA greenhouse gas regulation pose serious harm to farmers and rural America.

“In times of great hardship in rural communities across America, both of these approaches to addressing climate change will only bring further job cuts and economic decline. This new resolution marks an important step in the effort to defeat a cap-and-trade energy tax and EPA’s misguided regulations.”

Senator Inhofe applauded the NGWA board for its near-unanimous (26-2) vote Sept. 4 that approved a new resolution on climate legislation and regulation. That resolution puts the group on record as “opposed to greenhouse gas legislation or regulation that has a negative impact on production agriculture.”

The new resolution marks a stunning shift from the group’s recent endorsement of the Waxman-Markey legislation passed by the House of Representatives in June. As the Oklahoma Farm Report noted today, the Wheat Growers Association firmly stated that, “neither greenhouse gas regulation nor legislation should take effect until the major carbon emitting countries of the world have agreed to regulation their own greenhouse gases in a like manner to ours.” And it will “oppose EPA regulation and will work to overturn the Supreme Court ruling.”

The board also voted 24 to 0 to “remove existing resolutions relating to greenhouse gas regulation and an agriculture cap-and-trade program.”

The global economy is in new territory‏ - and it exposes Obama for what he is

The other major economies are out of recession already, but the USA isn't and the dollar is crashing.

The world used to depend on USA consumption and investment - not anymore.

The fact that the so-called Stimulus hasn't been spent (well 10% has - as unemployment goes up 'n up!) proves that the so-called stimulus Package was always meant to be used NEXT year as a carrot and stick to buy "on the fence" Congressmen running for reelection and not as a stimulus at all.

That's how they have always playd the game in Chicago.

Their chief goal is this: wrecking the USA and strengthening The NewLeftist Axis, (the Axis is the Chicago Machine and the Shadow Party of Soros and the Left).

The Green/Left have always seen truth as being optional. And they get away with so much fraud that you almost can't blame them. Excerpts only below

“Dire Predictions” by Michael Mann and Lee Kump, sets out to provide an illustrated guide to the findings of the IPCC. It is a relatively simple volume, full of the promised pictures, small graphs to illustrate points and condensed comments on the different aspects of the climate change debate. In short it is the sort of text that might be provided to a class in the United States to help them understand the prevailing arguments about climate change.

It has some nice initial illustrations of the way in which climate is generated that are easy to follow and which are therefore initially persuasive. But my eye was caught, from the beginning by the different graphs that are scattered throughout the chapters. I was a bit surprised by the first graph, since it didn’t quite look like the graph of the temperature plots given by NOAA, so after looking at the two separately:

You can see quite a difference in the curves around 1940 – the actual peak back then has disappeared from Dr. Mann’s graph and if I superimpose them you can see how a fluctuating temperature record has been smoothed. (The heavy black line comes from the Mann and Kump curve)



The difference is more than subtle – the peak and stable or declining temperatures between 1940 and 1970 have been magically eliminated. But wait, those of you who have read the book respond – he puts a more detailed temperature plot on page 36.

But if you look at this figure – relative to the official plot you can see that while the official temperature is “debatably” flat in the official record, here the plot is steadily increasing from 1950.

Skipping forward through the book, let me pick out one more graph that caught my attention – the regional trends shown on Figure 71.

Again I won’t bother superimposing the pictures, but you can see that the trends that are actually occurring don’t quite follow the curves in the book. Having discovered which there really isn’t much point in continuing reading it, since it takes such liberties with easily verifiable figures, one is wondering what else has been “quietly adjusted” to make the facts more supportive of the argument.

Now it isn’t as though I completely agree with the official figures, given the corrections that have been imposed on the initial raw data, and that, as a result, trends appear that weren’t there before the “tweaking.’ But I do think that this book is taking the trend of “adjusting” the data just a bit too far in the process of making a point. There comes a point where this stops being Science and becomes Propaganda.

THE FACEBOOK FATWA

In more coverage of the Rifqa Bary case, Atlas Shrugs has discovered that a Muslim Facebook group was started that called for her death. It was taken down shortly afterwards and the authorities contacted. It can still be found on the Google cache. The Jawa Report says that the group, which had at least 123 members, was started by one Mohamed Sahlan Suhail, whose own Facebook page has also been erased.

Challenging question now: will the FDLE revise its clearly erroneous claim that they found no threat to Rifqa? And, will the Barys and their lawyer Shayan Elahi apologize for inciting hatred against both her and other Christians? That Elahi would demand she be declared mentally insane should be enough to tell that he's not presenting any reasonable argument on the parents' side.

Green jobs shrinking, not growing

GREEN JOBS IN GERMANY? NO. IN CHINA

Fair competition or Save the Planet? That could ultimately be at play as China and the West, long at odds over trade in steel, textiles and auto parts, risk being sucked into a row over protectionism in renewable energy equipment such as solar panels.

German solar firms Conergy and Solarworld have voiced strong concern about the pricing practices of Chinese panel makers -- who undercut their German peers' products by around 20 percent. Chinese modules sell in Europe at about 1.70 euros per watt, according to a UBS report. Industry experts say U.S. firms share those German concerns.

Germany's BSW solar industry association is looking into allegations of dumping by Chinese rivals as Conergy rallies support to call on the European Union to examine Chinese pricing tactics. "It cannot be the aim of our environmental and economic policy to lose to the Far East our pioneering role with regard to the last great future technology, which was raised here with great efforts," said Dieter Ammer, CEO at Conergy, Germany's second-biggest solar firm by revenue.

The once red-hot solar sector faces a massive oversupply of cells and modules that has driven down average selling prices for solar systems by more than a fifth in Germany and the United States -- two major solar markets -- and Chinese companies are grabbing market share by slashing costs.

GREEN JOBS IN THE USA? NO. IN CHINA

Massive inventory buildup and Chinese competition could put half of all solar manufacturers out of business next year, according to a market research firm. Further, it reports that production has dropped to 27.9 percent of potential capacity in 2009 from 48 percent in 2008. "As many as 50 percent of the more than 200 solar manufacturers, mired in red ink with current selling prices above $2 per watt, may not survive," the report said.

GREEN JOBS IN AUSTRALIA? NO. IN CHINA

Sun sets on Australian Solar Systems company despite funding promises. A big British windmill factory has just shut up shop too.

AUSTRALIA'S leading solar energy company was placed into the hands of voluntary administrators yesterday and almost all of its 150 staff stood down pending a review to see if the business can be salvaged. PricewaterhouseCoopers partners Stephen Longley and David McEvoy were appointed voluntary administrators of Solar Systems Pty Ltd and two of its subsidiaries just two weeks after 20 per cent stakeholder, the Victorian power utility TRUenergy, wrote down its entire $53 million investment.

Solar Systems had received promises of $129m in funding from federal and state governments to build Australia's first large scale solar power station, a $420m project near Mildura in Victoria. It also had ambitions for 1000MW of large-scale solar installations in Asia, using its unique solar dish technology, at an estimated cost of more than $3 billion, and to become one of the top five global solar energy companies over the next five years.

However, despite mandating Morgan Stanley to seek new funds and bring in new strategic or financial partners, it was unable to attract new finance and TRUenergy decided to cut its losses. It is understood the decision to appoint administrators came after the late withdrawal of two international parties -- one private equity -- from talks about an equity injection of around $50m to $100m.

Mr Longley said he would assess the company's financial and operations position with a view to continuing operations on a reduced scale over the next three months to provide sufficient time to restructure and sell the business as a going concern. He said staff would be advised of their future by the end of the week and a meeting of creditors would be held on September 17.

It is understood Solar Systems has around $56m of secured debt mostly held through some of its shareholders, including TRUenergy, the British financier and founder of Australian Wildlife Conservancy, Martin Copley, and Graeme Morgan, the founder and former owner of financial planning group Sealcorp. Solar Systems' annual report shows that Morgan was the largest shareholder with 30.3million shares, while Copley held 5.5 million. Options given to executives had an exercise price of more than $3 a share. Both are directors of the company. The annual accounts show the company had revenue of just $2.9m, but losses of $21.3m in 2007-08, taking its accumulated losses to $74m.

The recently completed manufacturing facility in Abbotsford, Victoria, which had the capacity to build 500MW of solar PV installations a year, is now on care and maintenance. Development of the Mildura power station, which was not due to begin construction for another 12 months, will also be put on hold.

It is not clear whether any new owner would qualify for the state and federal funding that had been previously committed.

Clunkers aid Ford, Toyota sales; GM, Chrysler fall

DETROIT (AP) -- The Cash for Clunkers program boosted sales at Ford, Toyota and Honda in August as consumers snapped up their fuel-efficient offerings, but rivalsChrysler Group LLC and General Motors Co. withstood another month of falling sales.

Two of Ford's vehicles -- the Focus and Escape -- were among the top selling cars under the clunkers program.

Ford sales rose 17.2%

Japanese automakers. and Honda Motor Co. also posted gains year-over-year gains in August.

Toyota sales rose 6.4 percent.
Honda sales rose 9.9 percent.

Chrysler sales fell 15 percent.

GM Co., sales fell 20 percent.

No GM vehicles made the closely watched list of top-10 Cash for Clunkers sales, but they had the largest market share behindJapan's Toyota Motor Corp.

Those numbers are votes, people. People who buy cars are likely voters. Polls are almost always skewed because they reflect the general population, rather than likely voters.

Here we see Ford rising nearly 20%, Chrysler falling 15%, and GM falling a full 20%.

That is the American people voting against the Obama Administration's socialization of the Auto Industry.

That means the American people are well-aware of the danger inherent in the policies of the Obama Administration.

That means Barack Obama is taking the Democratic Party down with him.

Dick Morris predicted a bloodbath; the Democratic Party could lose 100 seats in 2010. I agree with him.

LEFTISTS AND JIHADISTS OUTRAGED OVER 455 NEWISH JEWISH HOMES IN THE WEST BANK

Israel has officially approved the construction of more than 450 new homes in the occupied West Bank, the Israeli defence ministry has announced.

This is the first new government-approved construction project in the West Bank since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came to power in March.

It comes despite US pressure to halt settlement building.

A senior Palestinian negotiator, Saeb Erekat, said the move "nullified" the effect of any future building freeze.

Palestinians have ruled out resumption of peace talks with Israel until there is a complete halt to settlement construction.

Mr Erekat said Israel's decision further undermined its credibility as a partner for peace.

The U.N. nuclear watchdog says his agency is locked in a "stalemate" with Iran over the country's suspect nuclear program.

International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei has told the agency's 35-nation board that Iran has not suspended uranium enrichment. He says Tehran has not cleared up other lingering questions about its atomic activities.

ElBaradei urged Iran on Monday to "substantively re-engage" with the Vienna-based IAEA to prove there are no military dimensions to its nuclear program.

Media-fostered Obama cult is proto-Fascist

“What’s Your Pledge?” “To be a servant to our president,” says Demi Moore. “To be of service to Barack Obama,” says Anthony Kiedis. We are witnessing something beyond the every-day attempt to package a political leader in a compelling way. In fact, we may very well be watching the emergence of a cult of personality. To some, even the suggestion of this is absurd because we associate such things with despotism. How could a free society fall prey to such a thing?

Well, where are the radical mantras of “question authority” now? Where have all the liberal flowers gone? They’ve gone to Washington, D.C., everyone. And because children are our future, let’s teach them well and let them lead the way. It’s time to kick the “juvenile idealization of the President” up a notch.

Ever see pictures of LBJ in homes? Nixon? Ford? Carter? Reagan? Anyone named Bush? Clinton? How about Barack Obama? Oh yeah. They are popping out on walls all over America because, like FDR and JFK were, Mr. Obama is being increasingly seen as a colossus standing above it all. He’s a super leader who can do super things. And children in school next Tuesday will have that image reinforced to them, irrespective of what is actually said in the speech.

A cult of personality happens when mass media creates and fosters an idealized and heroic public image for a political leader. It is most often connected with totalitarian regimes, but, as Jonah Goldberg has pointed out in his book, Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning, the original use of the word “totalitarian” described a “humane” society, “one in which everyone is taken care of and contributes equally. It was an organic concept where every class, every individual, was part of the larger whole.” Sound familiar?

And of course, it just infuriates liberals to hear even the suggestion that their agenda might indeed resemble fascism, because for so long the mantra has been that “right-wing” conservatives are fascists. But, put simply, true conservatives do not believe in big government and are all about individual liberty – two traits that are decidedly anti-fascist. Fascism is about the expansion, glorification, and predominance of the state – that’s liberalism, not conservatism.

But dull facts are no match for frenzied media. And young minds are no match for a massive campaign to foster the image of a president as more than what our constitution requires him – or her – to be. Do I believe that we are on the verge of some kind of massive move toward “friendly totalitarianism” in America? No. But I do think that if it ever really happened here, it would travel along the same national nerve pathways that are being used by this White House right now.

Observing San Francisco

If the poster below does not creep you out, it should. It would go well in any dystopian tyranny. Today's American Left would cheerfully march into Fascism if conservatives and ordinary decent Americans would let them

As I’ve mentioned, my wife, Helene, and I are house-sitting in San Francisco, a wonderful, quirky city but also home pond to Nancy Pelosi and other odd ducks. Following are a few random sightings and quotes that provide a small whiff of the atmosphere here, such as the fact that there are so many Priuses here with Obama bumper stickers that I now suspect that all the cars Toyota shipped to San Francisco last year came with the Obama stickers built into the bumpers at the factory.

When we first saw the following poster in a window we thought it must have been home-made, but subsequent sightings, and this site, reveal that it is in fact mass-produced, presumably with an audience of purchasers. [UPDATE: This link has been corrected. It should have pointed, as it does now, to a site with many Obey Obama posters.]


I think this poster speaks for itself, and it says volumes about the mentality of many of the most fervent Obamaphiles.

Riding on a MUNI bus one day (Helene likes to ride the buses so she can tune up her Spanish) we picked up a copy of the San Francisco Bay Guardian someone had left behind, perhaps the only paper in the land that can make the San Francisco Chronicle seem almost sane. On page 13 of the Sept. 2 – 8, 2009, issue there is a large announcement of High Holiday Services at the Beyt Tikkun Synagogue-Without-Walls featuring Rabbi Michael Lerner and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alice Walker. (This announcement is not available in the Guardian online, but almost the same thing is online here.) I was struck by the caption under Alice Walker’s picture in the Guardian, which stated that she would speak “about how Oppressed People can Become Oppressors.” I didn’t realize, I thought at first to myself, that Alice Walker had become a critic of racial quotas, etc., but then, after reading the announcement, realized she was talking about the Jews. Silly me.
