Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday accused Israel of stepping up its “aggressive offensive” on Palestinians and their holy sites and said the Palestinians won’t accept any change of the status quo at the Temple Mount.

In a speech broadcast on Palestine TV, Abbas also accused Israel of carrying out “field executions” against Palestinians, saying the Palestinians would bring the case before the International Criminal Court.

Abbas did not issue any call to Palestinians to stop the current wave of terrorism. Nor did he condemn the terrorist attacks.

Instead, Abbas warned that Israel’s actions threatened peace and stability and could ignite a “religious conflict” between Israelis and Palestinians and the entire world.

“We unequivocally and clearly say that we won’t accept a change of the status quo at al-Aksa Mosque,” Abbas declared. “We won’t permit the passing of any Israeli plans targeting the sanctity of the mosque.”

Yeah, because the mosque is more important than human lives. Abbas is pure filth of the earth, doubtless willing to use lawfare to achieve his goals if he thinks it could avail him. No sane person should have anything to do with him.

The Sicarii carried sicae, or small daggers, concealed in their cloaks, hence their name.[3]  At public gatherings, they pulled out these daggers to attack Romans or Roman sympathizers, blending into the crowd after the deed to escape detection. 

They were one of the earliest forms of an organized assassination society or cloak and daggers, predating the Middle Eastern assassins and Japanese ninjas by centuries.[4][5]

Jerusalem, at least the Old City and the Temple Mount, has been a Palestinian political demand ever since it was liberated from the illegitimate Jordanian occupation in June 1967, despite the fact that it was never the capital of anything throughout Islamic history, and was not even the regional capital of Palestine after the Muslim Conquest in 627 CE. The capital was Ramle, 30 kilometers to the west from Jerusalem. And so, we ask: Why is Jerusalem holy to a religion that was established and developed in the Arabian desert, today’s Saudi Arabia? How did Jerusalem win the status of “the third holiest site in Islam” despite the fact that it does not appear even once in the Qur’an? Why, did only Sunni Muslims, traditionally, consider Jerusalem as a holy city while Shi’is do not?

To understand why this is so, we must trace the evolution of the idea of the holiness of Jerusalem in Islam. According to the Qur’an (Chapter 25, Verse 5) the prophet of Islam, Muhammad, was harshly criticized by the members of his tribe in Mecca for bringing them a religion which was nothing but “Asatir al-Awwalin” (the legends of the precursors), meaning the religious narrative of the Jews and the Christians, because many of the stories that appear in the Qur’an are copies of stories from the Bible. Apparently Muhammad learned these stories from his very close friend, a Jewish Rabbi from Yemen named Ka’b. The criticism of Islam, as a copy of other religions made Islam appear illegitimate, so in order to get a “seal of approval” Muhammad tried to convert three Jewish tribes who lived in a desert oasis called “Khaybar”, which was situated near the city of al-Medina. To please them, Muhammad legislated that the direction of prayer for Muslims was determined to be Northward, towards Jerusalem, for some 16 months. But the Jews remained loyal to Judaism and did not embrace Islam and therefore Muhammad waged war against them, slaughtered the men and took the women, including Safiyya, the daughter of one of the tribal heads, whom he took as a wife. After he eliminated these Jewish tribes, he was no longer interested in their direction of prayer, so he abandoned Jerusalem and turned the direction of prayer Southward, towards the city of Mecca. He later conquered Mecca, burned the idols that were within, and consecrated the city.

In those days Muhammad had a group of supporters in the city of al-Ta’if, which was located at a distance of a two-day walk from Mecca. When Muhammad walked to Ta’if and back he would spend the night in the village of “al-Gi’irrana”, and Islamic tradition has it that near the village were two mosques, “The Nearby Mosque” (“al-Masjid al-adna”) and the “Distant Mosque”, (“al-Masjid al-Aqsa”), and that he would pray in one of them before setting out on his day-long journey, either to Ta’if or back to Mecca. The Qur’an (Chapter 17, Verse 1) tells a story that one night a miracle occurred to Muhammad; the Creator took him to the Distant Mosque in order to show him His miracles. The people of that generation understood this passage literally, because they knew that “al-Masjid al-Aqsa” was near the village on the way to Ta’if. Muhammad died in the year 632, without ever having visited Jerusalem.

Five years after Muhammad’s death, Jerusalem was conquered without a battle, when Bishop Sophronius opened its gates to the formidable army of the second Caliph, ‘Umar bin al-Khattab. Sophronius took the caliph and his entourage for a tour of the city, and included in his entourage was Ka’b, Muhammad’s Jewish companion. When they arrived at the entrance to the Temple Mount Ka’b removed his shoes, apparently because of the passage “remove your shoes from your feet” because the place was holy. Caliph ‘Umar saw this and asked him the meaning of his actions, and Ka’b answered that it was because of the holiness of the place. Caliph ‘Umar became angry with him, scolded him and accused Ka’b for trying to insert Jewish concepts into Islam, and insisted that he put his shoes back on immediately because the place was not holy at all. The great Islamic historian, al-Tabari, tells this anecdote and we can derive from it the interpretation that Jerusalem in the year 627 CE – even though it was under Muslim occupation – was not considered by them to be a holy place.

Thirty years after the death of Muhammad, the Umayyad Caliphs transferred the capital of the Muslim Empire from the Hijaz to Damascus, incurring the wrath of the Meccans who were loyal to Muhammad and his legacy. In the following generation, because of the looting, plundering and booty that the Muslims perpetrated upon the empires of Persia, Byzantium and many other places, Damascus became a city of wealth, permissiveness, gala celebrations, debauchery and drunkenness, and there was no abomination that the people of Damascus left untouched. It’s low moral status caused the people of Mecca who were faithful to the legacy of Muhammad, to declare the residents of Damascus to be heretics. Finally, in the year 682, under the command of Abdallah bin al-Zubayr, the Meccans organized and rebelled against the Caliph, and prevented the residents of Damascus from coming to Mecca for the Hajj pilgrimage.

There are those who see a relationship between the rebellion of Abdallah bin al-Zubayr and the disturbing events that occurred two years earlier, in the year 680, when the army of the Umayyad Caliph Yazid bin Mu’awiya eliminated the greatest of the rebels, Husein bin ‘Ali, in the city of Karbala’, which is in the south of Iraq. Husein bin ‘Ali was the grandson of Muhammad; his mother was Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, and his father was ‘Ali, Muhammad’s cousin and the fourth Caliph, whose supporters are the Shi’ites, even today. However, the fact that Husein was a member of the Prophet’s family didn’t help him to escape an awful fate: he was decapitated and his head was brought to Damascus in order to show the Caliph that the leader of the Shi’ite opposition had been eliminated. The Caliph put the head on his desk for a month, so that everyone who came to his office would “see and fear”. It is thought that Abdallah bin al-Zubayr, the rebel from Mecca, was one of the Shi’ite supporters, and that this is the real reason that the people of Damascus, who lived in the shadow of the Caliph, Husein bin ‘Ali’s murderer, were prevented from taking part in the Hajj pilgrimage.

Whether because of the debauchery of the residents of Damascus, or because of the cruelty of the Caliph towards the grandson of Muhammad, the people of Mecca, armed Bedouins well versed in the ways of war, blocked off the routes of the Hajj pilgrimage from the people of Damascus and its surroundings. But while Mecca’s political and military rebellion continued for eight years, it was still necessary to make the yearly Hajj pilgrimage, a basic commandment of Islam, and so Caliph Yazid bin Mu’awiya searched for an alternative location for the Hajj. The alternative place to do the Hajj had to have an aura of holiness, one that would allow the Caliph to declare it as a place of pilgrimage instead of Mecca.

At that time, many Jews and Christians converted to Islam, at least outwardly, in order to escape the burden of the heavy tax that was imposed upon them. Because of their conversion to Islam they carried in their hearts and in their mouths the exaltation of Jerusalem, the Holy City, and this is how the idea of Jerusalem as a holy city entered into Islam. The Caliph decided that Jerusalem will be the place for pilgrimage, but he needed support from the Islamic writings to enable him to paint his decision in an Islamic color. That is why that passage in the Qur’an that speaks of the miracle of Muhammad’s night journey to the “Distant Mosque” was taken, and a new exegesis was attached to it: that the al-Aqsa mosque is located in Jerusalem, and that Muhammad was brought to Jerusalem during the night and ascended to the seventh heaven. During his ascent, the prophets of the previous religions – Judaism and Christianity – joined him: Adam, Jesus, Johannes, Seth, Joseph, Aaron, Moses, and Abraham. In heaven, next to Allah’ throne, they prayed behind Muhammad, and this indicates that they accepted his sovereignty over themselves and that Judaism and Christianity pass the baton of leadership on to Islam. All of this is under the Throne of Glory, that is, that the coronation of Islam over Judaism and Christianity is a matter of Allah’s magisterial decision. Islam, according to this story, came to the world not to live side by side with Judaism and Christianity but rather to replace them.

In order to better establish the validity of the transfer of the Hajj to Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock was built in the center of the Temple Mount, so that the circumambulation can take place around it. It was built with eight walls, apparently to signify that it is double the holiness of the Ka’ba in Mecca, which has only four walls. In addition, many “Hadith” (oral tradition) pieces had been forged, attributed to Muhammad, which implies that the sanctity of Jerusalem is greater than the sanctity of Mecca.

Then, after eight years of Abdallah bin al-Zubayr’s rebellion, the Umayyads succeeded to transfer the Hajj back to Mecca, at which point the tales about Jerusalem were dropped. Salah al-Din (Saladin) brought them up again in the 12th century, when the Muslim commander wanted to rouse up his fighters in preparation for the battle with the Crusaders. After Jerusalem was liberated, it’s high status was again abandoned, mainly to avoid undermining the hegemony of Mecca and Medina.

The story of Muhammad’s night journey to Jerusalem is very important to Islam, because it gives Islam legitimacy as a valid religion, a religion that was not intended to coexist in peace with other religions, but rather to replace them, to destroy them and to build itself upon their ruins. Therefore Arabs “Islamized” the important figures that appear in the Torah and in the Bible, built mosques on top of synagogues, churches (in Ramle, Damascus, Istanbul, Cordoba, Temple Mount in Jerusalem and more), and monasteries, and formulated laws to denigrate Jews and Christians. The yellow patch is a Muslim invention of the ninth century. Many of the Islamic concepts of philosophy and religious law are taken from Jewish and Christian sources.

According to the Islamic approach, the Jews, and after them the Christians, distorted and falsified the holy writings, so Allah became angry with them (according to the Qur’an, Chapter 1, Verse 7), removed the prophecy from them and gave it to Muhammad; According to Islamic approach, Judaism and Christianity have lost their meaning as religions. Moreover, these religions have no holy places, and Jewish or Christian claims of ownership on any holy site are false and invalid according to Islam. So the Muslims are not at all impressed by the Jewish claim that Jerusalem was the capital of the Jewish kingdom, whether during the First or Second Temple period, because of this simple claim: David and Solomon were Muslims! And it’s no wonder: according to the Qur’an (Chapter 3, Verse 19) “Allah’s religion is Islam”, and so, Islam has Islamized the G-d Himself.

It is for this reason that the Israeli demands for sovereignty over Jerusalem is a contradiction to a very foundational belief of Islam, the belief that Judaism has finished its role in the world. Therefore it is strictly forbidden for a Muslim to allow a Jew to control the place from which Muhammad (according to the Islamic legend) rose up to heaven, and this is why the Palestinians are so insistent about getting their hands on Jerusalem. Jews can live under the auspices and control of Islam, but not to conquer a land that was under Muslim control, and of course not to rule in the city from which Muhammad rose to heaven. Furthermore, control over Jerusalem would give the Palestinians Islamic legitimacy, almost as much as the religious legitimacy that the king of Saudi Arabia has because of his custodianship for Mecca and Medina. And on the contrary, if they surrender Jerusalem to the Jews, they will be accused by many Muslims of betraying Islam.

Muslims who are faithful to their religion know that Islam is not intended to live side-by-side with the previous religions, Judaism and Christianity, but rather to replace them and to be built upon their ruins. And so the battle between Islam and Judaism is a battle between “Din al-Haqq”, the religion of truth, which is Islam, and “Din al-Batil”, the obsolete religion, which is Judaism and Christianity. But Watching what has been happening in Israel for the last sixty three years causes them to shudder: the Jews have returned to their land and conquered it from the Muslims. Then they conquered Jerusalem, and the next step will be the building of the Temple, and then Judaism will again become a relevant and living religion. What, then, will be the fate of Islam, the faith that is supposed to replace Judaism and Christianity? The return of the Jews to their land and to their city is seen by Muslims as a theological danger much more than a territorial, nationalistic, or political problem.

The unbreakable connection between religion and politics in Islam has turned the theological problem into a political problem, therefore the question of the holiness of Jerusalem in Islam is expressed politically: In the past, Muhammad tried to solidify his religious and political status among the Jews by praying toward Jerusalem, the Caliphs from Damascus artificially made Jerusalem a place of pilgrimage as a result of a political competition with Mecca and Medina, and Salah al-Din used it to arouse his fighters. So too, the Palestinians today have adopted Jerusalem as the seal of religious approval for their state, which is not at all certain to arise. They know that if they dare to leave the site of the Temple in the hands of the Jews, that the Islamic fundamentalists, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda will rise up and accuse them of treason. This is the reason that their spokesmen say again and again, that without Jerusalem as its capital they will not establish a Palestinian state.

The connection between Jerusalem and politics is expressed in another way: everyone knows that the source of the disagreement between the Shi’ites and the Sunnis is the political question of who was the legitimate Caliph in the middle of the seventh century: ‘Ali bin Abi Talib, the fourth caliph, or Mu’awiya bin Abi Sufyan, the ruler of Damascus, who rebelled against ‘Ali and became the fifth Caliph. Mu’awiya is the first Caliph from the Umayyads, and it was Yazid, his son, who sanctified Jerusalem as an alternative place to do the Hajj pilgrimage. Yazid was also the one who had Husein bin ‘Ali decapitated and therefore the Shi’ites – supporters of ‘Ali and his descendants – see the Umayyads as their eternal enemies, and their deeds as illegitimate. Therefore, the holiness of Jerusalem was not accepted by the Shi’ites and their third holiest place is the city of Najaf, in southern Iraq, ‘Ali’s burial site. Today, politics plays a role here as well: the leaders of Iran and the Shi’ite Hizballah can not remain behind when the subject is Israel, so they jump on the bandwagon “To liberate Jerusalem from the impurity of the Zionists”, despite the fact that according to Shi’ite tradition Jerusalem has no status as a holy place.

The historical reality of Jerusalem also stands before the leaders of the State of Israel: On one hand – it is the city that is central to the Jewish faith since King David until today, the center of Jewish ritual and religious life, the Jewish capital for approximately 3000 years and the center of the longing, hopes and prayers of Jews from the four corners of the Earth. On the other hand it is the city that Islam has adopted precisely because it is holy to others, and a city whose Islamic “holiness” stems from a problem of Islamic political legitimacy in the Islamic Empire, since the days of Muhammad until our times.

The question that confronts us today is whether Judaism and Christianity will submit to the Islamic religious narrative, which invalidates Judaism and Christianity, and appropriates their holiness, their prophets and their “founding fathers” unto itself, or will they stand up for their rights to be living and thriving religions, that adhere to their holy places and. Or will Jews and Christians behave submissively towards the desert tribes who, after conquering the Land of Israel geographically, have been trying for last 1400 years to overthrow the history and theology of its people.

All to whom Jerusalem is dear must raise their voices and demand that Israel’s government not sell off the holy city for the delusion of peace with those who don’t see Jews as having any right to their country. Jerusalem is not just another parcel of land or a building that belongs to the State of Israel, but the heart of hearts of the entire Jewish and Christian peoples worldwide. In practice this means that if it is necessary to build a bridge then Israel must build it and pay no heed to those who wish to undermine the Jews’ rights and sovereignty.

There will be real peace in the Middle East if, and only if Muslims will recognize the right of Jews to live with full sovereignty in the land of Israel and in its holy, historic capital.

Israel is under attack from within: Israeli muslims are on a rampage, attacking random Jewish citizens with guns and knives.

The muslims are like a horde of bloodthirsty zombies who cannot control their savage bloodlust.

Expulsion and annexation are the answer.

These islamo-zombies should be sent to an islamo-zombie dominated area, like Syria or Afghanistan or Libya, and from their they can settle in Germany if they wish.

And their property seized.

Seriously, Israel should demolish the homes and property of these islamo-zombies and the homes and property of all their cousins - and then expel them all, zombies and cousins, to Gaza or Syria.

NEITHER OBAMA NOR CLINTON WILL ISSUE AN UNAMBIGUOUS CONDEMNATION OF THE PLO

Marco Rubio's noted how neither the POTUS nor the dreadful Democrat candidate running in the next election will acknowledge the PLO's guilt in the current incitement to commit jihadism (Hat tip: Accuracy in Media):

“Reminiscent of the days when Yasser Arafat talked peace in English and jihad in Arabic,” Rubio writes, “Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas — a man President Obama regularly hails as a peacemaker — is inciting the bloodshed. ‘Every drop of blood that has been spilled in Jerusalem is holy blood as long as it was for Allah,’ he recently declared on Palestinian television.”

The Obama administration has responded by calling on both Palestinians and Israelis to “restore calm,” Rubio says, “as if Israel is somehow to blame for being the victim of terrorism.”

All this does is put more innocent lives at risk. It's practically classic moral equivalence that does little more than allow the PLO to get away with their offenses and won't hold them genuinely responsible for the being the monsters they truly are. This is the problem with today's leftists.

TERROR ATTACKS WITHIN ISRAEL CONTINUE

The "lone" jihadists continue their attacks in Jerusalem, causing authorities and everyone else more trouble than anyone needs:

A 16-year-old boy has been critically injured in a terrorist attack in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Pisgat Ze’ev on Sderot Moshe Dayan, near the Jerusalem Light Rail station.

A 20-year-old Jewish man was stabbed as well and sustained very serious wounds in the attack.

The Jewish teen was riding his bicycle when the attack began, with the terrorists first stabbing the young Jewish adult.

A passerby saw what was happening and began chasing the terrorists, who ran and then, spotting the teen on his bike, stabbed him as well.

One of the attackers was hit by a car; police shot and killed the second.

The attack took place just a half hour before the nation's parliament was scheduled to meet to discuss the current security situation.

A massive police presence is still at the scene. Magen David Adom medics treated both victims on site before rushing them both to Jerusalem's nearby Hadassah Medical Center at Mount Scopus.

OF COURSE THE ISLAMIC MOVEMENT COULD BE BEHIND ATTACKS

This article ponders the likelihood the Islamic Movement has a role in the wave of terrorist attacks this past week:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other government officials and others in the media have been pointing their finger at the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel as being connected to the recent wave of violence.

A representative of the Shin Bet (Israel's Security Agency) told the cabinet on Sunday that the Islamic Movement and Hamas were principally responsible for the incitement that has led to the current wave of terror, and that both groups rejected Israel's existence.

In an interview on Army Radio on Sunday, the head of the police operations chief Ahraon Aksol, said that “these are not spontaneous events, the northern branch is directing them.”

I think it's a foregone conclusion the Islamic Movement is a culprit. And they should be made to pay for the crimes they've been encouraging.

THE DANGER OF SUICIDE BOMBINGS IN ISRAEL LOOMS AGAIN

It's been a while since there'd been suicide attacks. Now, an attempt was made at the checkpoint by Maaleh Adumim:

A woman detonated an explosive and lightly injured a police officer near the A-Zaim checkpoint on the road between Ma'aleh Adumim and Jerusalem on Sunday morning.

The terrorist was seriously injured in the attack and was evacuated to hospital in Jerusalem with burns to her entire body, Magen David Adom said. The police officer suffered to his upper body and was evacuated to hospital with light injuries and in stable condition.

Police said a traffic police officer stopped the driver, who he thought was driving suspiciously, and approached the car to stop at the side of the road and then walked over to question her. The suspect then left the vehicle and the explosion occurred.

"The driver shouted 'Allah Hu Akbar' (God is great) and detonated an explosive device," a police spokeswoman said.

The incident followed a surge since last week in Palestinian attacks on Israelis, mostly with crude weapons like knives and rocks, and a crackdown by Israeli security forces. Four Israelis and 24 Palestinians have been killed in 11 days of violence.

According to this brief, there was a second bomb found in the car. It's lucky if it didn't have a huge impact, and certainly that nobody innocent was killed in this incident. But it sends strong signs that suicide bombings are very likely to be returning unless the authorities start raiding the enclaves where these weapons are manufactured.

FRENCH PARLIAMENT ADOPTS BILL TO PREVENT YOUNGSTERS FROM LEAVING COUNTRY TO PARTICIPATE IN JIHAD

The French parliament approved a draft law for keeping youngsters from joining jihad in Syria and Iraq:

French lawmakers adopted a draft law Thursday that will require minors to have permission from their parents or legal guardians before leaving the country in a bid to curb departures for jihad in Iraq or Syria.

At the moment, children in France only need their identity card or passport to travel, making it easy for them to fly to Turkey and make their way to Syria to join the ranks of the Islamic State group (IS).

The bill notes that the law, in place only since 2013, is "inadequate" in the face of "a large number of French minors who have gone to combat zones in Iraq and Syria."

Parents can currently request that their children be blocked from leaving the country, but this is of no use if they are unaware of their plans.

In June a French mother tried to sue the state for not preventing her minor son from leaving to Syria, but lost the case as she had not requested he be stopped.

Lawmaker Meyer Habib noted that jihadism had become "a sort of fashion for directionless youth", making the law all the more urgent.

Government's parliamentary secretary Jean-Marie Le Guen welcomed the bill but said it would be difficult to implement in Europe's passport-free Schengen zone and could create complications for children of divorced or separated parents.

Lawmakers also adopted a measure to allow prosecutors, who have been alerted by police, social services or education officials, to declare a ban on leaving the country.

According to recent government figures, more than 1,800 French citizens or residents of France have been involved in jihadist networks. Around 500 nationals are thought to be in Syria or Iraq, 133 of which have died.

A hotline set up for families to report radicalisation in April 2014 has drawn more than 3,000 alerts, 23 percent of which concern minors -- most of them girls.

It's very awful when girls get drawn into these nightmares, no doubt because they're directionless and want to find people who'll supposedly "care" for them. This is just the problem with today's society everywhere, that they aren't finding ways to satisfy their children.

THE END OF PARTY DISCIPLINE IN THE AGE OF GLOBAL CATASTROPHES, REAL AND IMAGINED

Since 9/11, party discipline has broken down, globally.

• Blair was ousted by Browne.

• Obama stole Hillary's chance in 2008, and Bernie Sanders is doing the same in 2016.

• In Australia - since 2010, there has been a series of intra-party coups with Rudd being overthrown by Gillard and then Rudd returning the favor followed by the election of the other party's leader - Abbott who has just been tossed by his caucus for Turnbull.

• Marine Le Pen,  the most popular politician in France and leader if the National Front, recently tossed her undisciplined and antisemitic father out of the party.

• The Labour Party in Britain, just elected as leader an extreme left-winger - who has promised to undo Blairism: Jeremy Corbyn; this after a very nasty intra-party contest. Many long-time labourites think this could be the end of the Labour party.

• In the House of Representatives, the right-wing base of the GOP has basically overthrown the Speaker AND his heir apparent.

I think these instances are similar and reveal something about the political era we are presently living through: the age of global catastrophes, some real and some imagined - but all exerting powerful effects on our politics and of course our lives.

In simplest terms, the last 15 years have been filled with horrific events which portend worse events and which politicians have relentlessly campaigned on, and the mass media has hysterically reported on year after year.

This hysteria about impending crises and catastrophes is why there is less party discipline and more intra-party fighting all over the world.

In the USA, the left feels that we are about-us to suffer an imminent global climate catastrophe, that black men are under systematic and nearly genocidal attack by cops, that women are paid 75% of what men earn, that there is a rape epidemic on our college campuses, that the 1% have pillaged the economy, that we have a mass murder epidemic fueled by weak gun laws, that voter ID laws are a massive and racist attempt to disenfranchise millions of blacks and Hispanics, and the GOP will take away your right to abort your pregnancy.

And they say if you vote for the GOP, then the end is near. And their followers believe them even though NONE are true:

1. The global climate is stable the last 18 years despite the fact that CO2 has doubled.
2. Black men are mostly killed by other black men and not by cops - whose presence in the ghettos of the USA actually reduces crimes against blacks.
3. Job for job, women and men make the same salaries in the USA. The oft-cited figure of 75% comes from comparing what all women make and what all men make and comparing the two numbers - but this doesn't take into account that men and women tend to work at different types of jobs with different levels of average income.
4. The rape epidemic statistics appear high - as if 20% of women who go to college are raped - only because the surveys which have generated this high number define rape down so that any unwanted advance is tantamount to rape.
5. US Census figures reveal that there has not been an increase in so-called income inequality.
6. There has been a decrease in mass murders in the USA, not an increase even though there are more guns than ever.
7. Voter ID laws target fraud, not blacks or Hispanics - who are just as capable of getting photo ID as whites. And, despite what leftists claim, there is lots if voter fraud in the USA, almost all by the left.
8. Abortion rights are limited in Enlightened left-of-center Europe to the first 12 weeks, but when GOP politicians suggest limiting it to 20 they're called fascist chauvinist pigs.

But the facts - all linked to above - do not matter: leftist voters believe the leftist spin and think the right has put us on the edge of an abyss. The constant harping, by leftist politicians and their allies in the media, on these "looming catastrophes" has created a feverish urgency, and this is what fuels the intra-party divisions on the left. It is tougher to get people to toe the party line when they believe so much is at risk RIGHT NOW. The outsider, socialist Bernie Sanders, appeals to the urgency more than the party's heir apparent, Hillary Clinton. And Biden can only stop Bernie if Biden runs with the radical Warren.

A similar urgency exists on the right, but - unlike the bogeymen of the left - these urgencies are real:

• Iran really is a growing global threat.
• Global jihadist terror really is a global threat.
• Putin really is a growing global threat.
• Our national debt really is a growing threat.
• Our economy and the global economy really are teetering toward recession, barely propped up by central bank's moves that are all having diminishing returns.
• Organized disrespect for police has led to a lack of law and order, and this is leading to a resurgence of violent crime.
• Unchecked immigration without assimilation really is lowering wages and increasing social disintegration and reducing social cohesion.

Most people sense these are true; they don't need politicians or media talking-heads to tell them. And they know what needs to be done:

• more defense spending and a more assertive foreign policy which is more supportive of our allies; 
• spending cuts; tax cuts; reduction of regulations; 
• support for our policemen, border patrol and all law enforcement; 
• and control of our borders.

People on the right see real, urgent problems with simple and principled solutions, and the fact that these simple and principled solutions have not been fought for by the GOP leadership has made the right extremely frustrated and it is this frustration which has led to the intra-party battles on the right.

If these real problems are not solved - and solved soon, the global implications are catastrophic because without an economically sound USA capable of, and willing to, lead the free world, the free world is doomed to fail under the pressure from global jihad, Iran, Putin and China.

To sum up, for the last 15 years we have faced continual stress: 9/11, the crash, the never-ending recession, Iran, ISIS, Putin annexing Crimea... 15 years of anxiety, and as a result there is global desperation in the world today.

And on the left, this has been sublimated into a desperate fear of phony crises, fears fomented by the leadership of the left which has created the hysteria on the left which has fueled the intra-party battles which threatens their coalition.

The intra-party battles on the right are fomented by the grass roots and are based on a correct reading of the real dangers facing us here and now... dangers we must start attacking as soon as possible or they will surely become catastrophes for us and our allies.

We can and should start this new offensive by electing a new and effective Speaker of the House.

I am arguing above that this is caused by the hysteria fomented by the left's leadership and the mass media they dominate.

The left needs to deny that the real crises are real, (and that the public should only pay attention the ones they harangue about), in order to maintain the belief among their followers that their agenda is the only effective one.

The sad truth is that leftist policies have never succeeded to solve the problems leftists focus on even when they were real. Now the problems they claim their policies can solve are not even real, and therefore, nothing good can possibly come from them. At best they can only be a waste of resources and time, two things we do not have enough of anymore...

ObamaCare Comes Up Short

Get ready for major hikes in health-insurance premiums, notwithstanding all the promises from "The One."

From Obamacare shorts health insurers $2.5 billion:

Insurers will get far less money than promised from the federal government this year — and a few billion dollars less than they requested — to help pay for their sickest customers.

Insurers learned late Thursday [October 1, 2015] that they'll receive just $362 million out of the $2.9 billion in requested for 2014 for the program, according to an announcement by the Department of Health and Human Services.

That's because a program created under the 2010 Affordable Care Act hasn't brought in nearly as much money as it needs to pay out. As insurers enrolled more older, sicker Americans under the new healthcare law, they were promised some federal money to help cover their new costs, through a program known as risk corridors.

This shortage in funding ObamaCare was totally predictable, of course. People with chronic health conditions typically cost more in healthcare dollars. The cycle of life.  All the utopianism in the world can't change the natural order of the universe.

OBAMA IS THE GINGER ROGERS OF WORLD LEADERS

Measured in amoral terms and strictly by how effectively he has been at expanding his nation's hegemony, Putin is the world's most assertive and successful world leader.

This is an accomplishment which is only diminished by the fact that he has benefited greatly because the current potus, Obama, has acted as if he were the leader of a second rate banana republic and not the leader of the free world.

(The fact that Obama is rapidly transforming the USA into a second rate banana republic means that future presidents might be forced to appease our enemies the way Obama has been doing by choice.)

Putin has successfully gotten Iran a favorable nuclear deal, gobbled up Crimea and half of Ukraine and is actively supporting Assad's regime with an unopposed, no holds barred effort.

Meanwhile, as Putin sashays about the world, Obama retreats, and appeases. Bends over backwards.

Which reminded me of what Governor Richards said about women in her famous Democrat Convention speech in 1988. She said that "Ginger Rogers did every thing that Fred Astaire did - only BACKWARDS... and IN HEELS!"

It seems to me that as Putin throws his weight around, it's almost as if Putin is leading and Obama is dancing backwards and in heels.

16. Chicago machine politics might be filthy dirty, but Obama is clean as a whistle.
17. Obama was right to help oust Mubarak and side with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The widow of one of the men murdered in the stabbing attack at the Old City recounted how Muslims in an area she ran through refused to help, and worse, condoned the assault:

“I ran several meters with a knife stuck in my shoulder, covered in blood,” newly widowed Adele (Benita) Bennett told Israel’s Channel 2 on Sunday, from her hospital bed in Hadassah-Ein Kerem. “And the Arabs watching applauded and spit at me, calling out, ‘You should die, too.'”

It's enough to vomit. She was lucky to survive, and if the murder supporters were filmed on security cameras, they should be tracked and charged with failure to prevent a crime or assist a victim in distress.

AFTER EXPEDITING THE PROCESS, IDF DEMOLISHES THE HOUSES OF TERRORISTS

The Israeli government's set a good example by destroying 2 houses belonging to the families of jihadists, and a third one's been sealed up:

The homes of two Palestinian terrorists were demolished by Israel, the IDF confirmed Tuesday morning, following a government crackdown on the latest wave of terrorism to hit the nation.

The homes belonged to terrorists who carried out attacks against Israel over the last year, with a room in the home of a third terrorist sealed off for possible demolition. The three terrorists were killed during or after they carried out their attacks, which left six people dead.

“Overnight, and in accordance with the directive of the Minister of Defense, Moshe Ya’alon, security personnel demolished the residences of Abu Jamil Ghassan Ben Muhammad and Muhammed Naif El-Jaabis and sealed off a room in the residence of Mu’taz Ibrahim Halil Hijazi in Jerusalem,” the IDF said in a statement.

[...] The demolitions come amid Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow to harshen measures against terrorists. On Monday, Netanyahu tasked Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked with expediting measures to shorten the legal process to demolish homes of Palestinian terrorists, a controversial policy that was first introduced during the Second Intifada.

“We are not prepared to give immunity to anybody, not to any rioters…or any terrorist, anywhere, and therefore there are no limits on the activities of the security forces,” he stated.

In addition to reenacting the policy of home demolitions, the prime minister has ordered the deployment of thousands of extra police and soldiers into Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to restore security. He also ordered a more expansive use of administrative detentions for terror suspects and banning people who incite terrorism against Israel from the Old City of Jerusalem.

Newly-revealed documents on Tuesday showed that the Palestinian Authority has been paying Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails hundreds of thousands of shekels over the past several years.

According to the documents obtained by Israel Radio, most of those receiving PA money are members of Hamas who were behind some of the bloodiest terror attacks in Israeli history, from the second intifada.

Those receiving these PA "salaries" are all serving time in maximum-security prisons for the crimes they committed.

One of the documents showed that Abdullah Barghouti, a Hamas bomb maker serving 67 life sentences, has so far received more than NIS 250,000 (almost $66,000).

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Hamad, who served as the head of Hamas's military wing in the West Bank and is currently serving 54 life sentences, was shown in the documents to have already received NIS 200,000 (almost $53,000).

Both Bargouti and Hamad were involved in some of the worst suicide bombings of the second intifada, including the bombings at a cafeteria at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem on July 31, 2002, the Sbarro restaurant bombing in Jerusalem on August 9, 2001 and a nightclub bombing in Rishon Lezion on May 7, 2002.

And that's one of the reasons why there's so much poverty under the PLO's regime. They pay all that money to cannibals while refusing to make any improvements in the living conditions for many people who're in bad situations.

And on another note, this one most disgusting too, some Muslim parents named their newborn son after one of the stabbers in the Old City. That just shows how evil they are.

2 MEN MURDERED IN STABBING AT OLD CITY

No sooner did the murder of two parents take place, now a jihad stabbing took place yesterday in the Jerusalem Old City that cost two lives:

The two Israeli men who were killed Saturday evening in a terror attack in Jerusalem’s Old City were named by police as Nehemia Lavi, 41, and Aharon Benet, 22.

The two died of their wounds shortly after being stabbed in Jerusalem’s Old City by a Palestinian terrorist.

Benet’s wife was in serious condition and their two-year-old baby was lightly wounded. She was taken to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem and was undergoing surgery. The toddler was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center for treatment where he remained in stable condition.

Lavi, a Jerusalem resident, leaves behind a wife and seven children. A rabbi at the Old City’s Ateret Cohanim yeshiva who lived nearby, he had rushed to the scene when he heard screaming in the street.

His funeral was scheduled for Sunday at noon at Har Hamenuhot in Jerusalem, also known as the Givat Shaul cemetery.

French-born Benet and his family lived in Beitar Illit. He was set to be buried early Sunday morning on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.

Lavi and Benet were stabbed in the upper body and were unconscious when paramedics arrived at the scene.

Benet was taken to Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus where he died of his wounds shortly after the attack. Lavi was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center where he also died Saturday night.

When the attack began, Benet’s wife, though badly injured, managed to run and alert a group of Border Police forces nearby who arrived on the scene. The assailant had by this time grabbed a gun from one of those he had stabbed, and he fired at the cops, who shot and killed him.

Hundreds of police officers had been deployed in the Old City, for fear of attacks, but Jerusalem Police Chief Moshe Erdi said there had been no specific information regarding this attacker.

It's not enough to have security on patrol. The Religion of Peace has to be abolished.
