"A FAIR SHARE OF THE NATION'S WEALTH" - THE LIE AT THE CORE OF THE SOCIALIST ARGUMENT

ACCORDING TO THE CBO, EVERYBODY GOT RICHER FROM 1979 TO 2007.

BUT LEFTISTS HAVE ARGUED THAT THE RICH GOT A BIGGER "SHARE OF THE NATION'S WEALTH" - AS IF THE PIE SHOULD BE SLICED ACCORDING TO SOME ABSTRACT NOTION OF FAIRNESS AND NOT BASED ON WHAT REAL PERSONS ACTUALLY EARNED.

LEFTISTS THINK THAT THIS ABSTRACT NOTION OF RELATIVE INCOME QUALITY IS MORE FAIR, BUT IT ISN'T.

IT IS FUNDAMENTALLY UNFAIR BECAUSE IT SUBSTITUTES DISTRIBUTION BASED ON INCOME EARNED WITH A DISTRIBUTION THAT DISREGARDS WHAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY EARN.

LEFTISTS MISTAKENLY BELIEVE THAT THIRD PARTIES UNINVOLVED IN THE TRANSACTIONS THAT YIELD INCOME WOULD SOMEHOW ALWAYS BETTER KNOW HOW MUCH INCOME SHOULD BE YIELDED AND WHO SHOULD GET WHAT PORTION OF IT.

THE PEOPLE IN THE TRANSACTION KNOW BEST. IOW: THE MARKET KNOWS BEST.

AND ANOTHER THING: THIS NOTION OF "THE NATION'S WEALTH" IS A BOGUS CONSTRUCT.

IT'S A PREMEDITATED CONSTRUCTION INTENDED TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE THE WEALTH BELONGS TO THE AGGREGATE BEFORE IT BELONGS TO THE ACTUAL PERSONS WHO ACTUALLY MADE IT.
