A few relatively SMALL subsidiaries of Murdoch's HUGE media enterprise - (one he built himself from a just a few itty-bitty newspapers in Australia) - used highly unscrupulous if not illegal means to gather information on hot TABLOID news items.
They hacked into the account of a murdered girl, and perhaps MANY "celebrities".
They covered up the extent of it. The law-breakers are being arrested - 10 so far.
Even the biggies.
Okay: they broke the law and tried to cover it up and now they're being caught. Good. But: BIG EFFIN' DEAL.
But it's ROUND THE CLOCK "TOP HEADLINE NEWS!!!!" if you watch or listen to the left-wing dominated lame-stream dynasty media. 22,600 stories and counting according to GOOGLE NEWS.
WHY SO MANY STORIES ABOUT THIS MEDIA STORY?
Simple: They desperately want to bring Murdoch and his right-of-center media enterprise down.
So they are trumping up the whole scandal into some "HUGE SCANDAL!!!!!" in order to tarnish FOX and the conservatives.
This isn't new: they've been at this before. Obama and his comrades have been ATTACKING FOX and Murdoch for years; WHITE HOUSE EMAILS PROVES THIS.
And left-wing dominated labor groups have been suing him, too.
It's an organized left-wing witch-hunt.
It's a bald-faced attempt by the Left to silence critics of the Left.
MEANWHILE, the lame-stream media LAUDED AND CELEBRATED the NYTIMES for ILLEGALLY LEAKING NATIONAL SECURITY SECRETS - NOT JUST ONCE, BUT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
Unlike the so-called Murdoch EMPIRE HACKING SCANDAL" the NYTIMES leaks actually hurt national security and made us all more vulnerable to a terrorist attack
Hacking into Jude Law's phone - or that of Hugh Grant or other actors ad celebrities is bad - and illegal - but it in no way is as bad as what the NYTIMES did OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
The NYTIMES leaked TOP SECRET classified national security information regarding our foreign bank money transfer surveillance, our use of third party prisons for interrogations, renditions, secrets about the FISA court, about NSA eavesdropping on foreign phone calls and so much more.
The NYTIMES editors and owners and reporters and their leakers should have been brought up on charges of TREASON, tried and EXECUTED.
(At last there might be some action taken against Risen of the NYTIMES - but not TREASON.)
But instead, the left-wing media EMPIRE lauded them.
Murdoch attacked as if he was a threat to our security and a global menace, and the NYTIMES lauded.
It's upside-freakin'-down.
Like everything else the left believes.
Sickening.
And worse than that: it is making us less safe - and less FREE.
They should be covering GUNNRUNNER SCANDAL.
But they are not.
Instead, they're trying to build up the NEW OF THE WORLD SCANDAL into another PLAME AFFAIR - which was another phony left-wing concoction designed to hurt the conservatives.
PLAME was targeting Cheney.
This time they're targeting Murdoch.

Newspapers do what they do, they are not held up as any moral force. soon it will comeout what all the other papers have done too.
The real story here is the Metropolitan police force of London and their corruption, going straight back to Cameron,Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
Murdoch is going to spill the beans when he is interviewed by parliament! Hopefully someone will leak the details, as the government will try to hush it all up! The scum!!

It may have been before your time but I remember all of Murdock's US properties, especially Fox News big time unquestioning cheer-leading to the American public Bush's phony-baloney Iraq war.
But your portrayal as Murdock as victim is laughable.
Murdoch is not satisfied with being a billionaire. He wants to also control governments. He has a lock on the GOP in the USA and has had, until recently, a lock on the Conservative party in the UK.
That's too much power for someone who's not elected and answerable to no one.
