Though still to early to say, I do hope they win with a workable majority, but I doubt it.
I have no confidence in the polls or the media in general, they try and dictate the votes by implying trends and qualities of the parties and thus the media itself is responsible for about a 5 to 8 per cent swing. Having the television debates was excellent, simply because Murdoch had no say or control of it.
What we learned from the debates and what many who do read between the skewered lines of news organisation's spin - that it is the Lib-Dems that are going to be the big winner in this election and thus are going to have the balance of power and a say in any new government organisation. In general that is a good thing, countries that have had a "third player" more than often have the best track-record of governance - but in this case with severe economic problems what is needed is a strong majority that can go through its policy strategy without hinderance.
