OBAMA'S WAR ON TOYOTA?

From Flopping Aces:
A Jan 27th article on a planned UAW protest outside the beltway Japanese embassy, protesting the shut down of the New United Motors Manufacturing assembly plant in Fremont, CA.

The UAW and Teamsters plan to protest Toyota outside the Japanese embassy in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, calling the automaker “a danger to America” in a statement Wednesday.

The unions say they will be joined by environmental and consumer protection advocates.

They plan to deliver a letter from the unions expressing concerns about Toyota’s plans to stop manufacturing at the New United Motors Manufacturing assembly plant in Fremont, Calif.

Toyota is closing the plant after General Motors, which shared the facility, pulled out as part of its bankruptcy reorganization. The union leaders are calling on the Japanese government to meet with them and Toyota management.

In a statement, the Teamsters said Toyota’s decision “will mean a loss of 5,400 direct jobs and up to 50,000 jobs at suppliers and other supporting businesses. This would be the biggest factory layoff in California since the beginning of the recession. Toyota is also endangering 5,000 middle-class jobs in the car haul industry.”

So let me get this straight… the UAW, who has no love for Toyota anyway, is calling the manufacturer a “danger to America” for closing a plant shared with Obama’s GM? And now the WH is hot on the economic destruction of Toyota in order to throw more biz to GM?

One would think that, if the UAW wants to demonstrate a modicum of consistency INRE jobs (union or not), they would be protesting the WH pressuring Toyota to halt production.

That's leftist think for you, paranoid and confused. The man is trying to get them, so we hate the man, but the man should give us more goodies. Fuck the man.

Paranoid and confused resentment is the essence of Socialism.

Toyota has been involved in a cover-up of its accelerator pedal issues, possibly dating back to 2002.
This current recall of more than 2 million vehicles has Toyota drivers either stranded or risking injury driving to work.
If you feel you were the victim of unintended acceleration, please consult this Web site for important legal information: http://www.toyota-class-action-lawsuit.com/
Toyota is also set to announce a recall on nearly a quarter-million Prius cars due to a malfunctioning brake system.
