UK BALKS AT TOURISM AD FOR QUMRAN CAVES

Why do we do business with Britain then? Here's their latest dirty deed and what it caused:
The Tourism Ministry has been forced to change an advertising campaign in Britain in which the Qumran caves were pictured, after the UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled that it did not consider the site part of Israel, it was reported Saturday.

The ASA also reprimanded the Tourism Ministry for not responding to its numerous appeals on the matter.

The Tourism Ministry's representative in Britain, Uri Gafni, told Israel Radio that the ministry had no intention whatsoever of claiming that the Qumran caves were in Israeli territory.

He said the picture had now been swapped with an image of Masada.

The Qumran caves are located south of Jericho. It is the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered by a Beduin shepherd looking for a lost goat in 1947.
Honestly, I don't think we need any tourist business with Britain if they're going to be so continuously negative.

The Qumran caves. The Dead Sea Scrolls. Consensus has it that the scrolls were written by JEWS WHO LIVED THERE, IN A JEWISH STATE around 150 BCE - 100 BCE.

That is some 235-285 years BEFORE the Romans renamed Israel "Palaestina" as punishment for a bloody revolt. Oh, and "Palaestina" was the name chosen because the Philistines were ancient Israel's historic enemies, and this was perceived by the Romans as a grave insult to the Jews. The Philistines, by the way, were long since gone by then - and they never spoke Arabic and never practiced Islam (which wouldn't even exist until over 500 years later). The claim of those Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians" is utterly false and without merit.

Oh, BTW, the JEWS used to call themselves "Palestinians" prior to their declaration of independence in 1948 - they even published the "Palestine Post" (which later became the Jerusalem Post, which is published to this day).

I simply cannot fathom how the Brits think that this makes it NOT Israeli territory.
