Some of us have noticed how the ideology of Global Warming resembles a cult where mankind replaces G-d as the prime force on Earth - if not the entire universe! Like many religions, it involves some kind of prediction of events - usually cataclysmic/apocalyptic - that will occur some time in the future. Some people are apparently so fed up with waiting for Armageddon that they need to reveal additional objects of our existential fears like asteroids, volcanoes, methane ice...
An implied corollary to the Global Warming theory is that the Earth cannot support a global population of 6 billion people - especially when the masses of India and China strive for a lifestyle similar to that enjoyed in the West. "Progress" has only postponed the ever growing Malthusian correction that is looming just around the corner. To avoid this "inevitable correction" there are those who call for the creation of some super-governmental agency - a la the UN?!? - which will intervene on behalf of mankind and save us from ourselves...
Instead of trying to debunk Global Warming perhaps we should accept the premise that the world population should be reduced by approximately 1/6. Under the banner of saving the world from Global Warming the left would then allow the West to execute the war against Islamic Jihad with the necessary vigor to save us from a real and present man-made threat to our existence.
