RICE'S REMARKS TO THE AMERICAN TASK FORCE ON 'PALESTINE': THE MORE I READ THE SICKER I GET

The Jerusalem Post has more of US Secretary of State Condaleeza Rice's Tuesday night remarks to the American Task Force on 'Palestine.' The more I read of this, the sicker I get. Here are the parts that I did not blog previously: Rice compared the vision of Palestinian statehood to that of American independence and the civil rights battles in one of the strongest endorsements from the Bush administration to the idea of an independent Palestinian state.
"I should never have grown up in segregated Birmingham, Alabama to become the secretary of state of the United States of America," Rice said, adding that eventually, once these visions do come true, "we wonder why did anyone ever doubt that it was possible."

Rice emphasized US support to the Palestinian people, by increasing the American foreign aid to the Palestinians to $468 million, and by putting in place an international mechanism which will allow transfer of financial assistance to the Palestinians without going through the Hamas government. i agree with this post Carl.

But lay off the Bush Adfministration betweeen now and the election... UNLESS YOU THINK THE DEMS WOULD BE BETTER.

25% of the Dems in the Congress, by the way, vote anti-Israel.

That's DOZENS of reps. Some of whom will have LEWADCERSHIP positions in the House.

So lay off. Bush is not perfect. But he's the best we've got right now. And sniping at his faults ONLY HELPS THE ENEMY.

BTW, Carl: that's an order. do not post anti-Bush stuff between now and the election.

I WANT DISCIPLINE.

Or you will be disninvited from posting here.

After the election, we can be as critical as we need to be.

I am making this consiton PUBLIC.

Discipline is nothing to be ashmamed of; I think Reagan called it the 11th Commandment.

it's your call.

I am of course not trying to silence you at your own blog.

I just don't want my blog used in a way which UNDERMINES our sdie and helps the bag guys, the Left - the Democrats, who are just AWFUL when it comes to israel.

need I remind you that an LA TIMES poll showed that 85% of the Desm think the USa favors Israel TOO MUCH and should be "more-even-handed"!??!?!?!?!?

Only 20% of the GOPO felt this way in the poll.

Know who your friends are and who your enemies are, and act accordingly.

You need not reply to this comment/demand/expression of editorial control.

Your actions will say everything.

ALL THE BEST!

Reliapundit,

Take a look at what I posted on my blog first thing today.

While I may be critical of the Bush administration at times, there is no doubt in mind that things would be far worse if we were talking about the Gore administration - and they will be far worse if the Democrats gain control of Congress.

I have been disappointed in Ms. Rice--to say the least. She lost me when she referred to "the holy Koran" in the summer of 2005. The way she said it sounded like pandering and appeasement. Besides, I don't hear her refer to the books of other religions as "the holy ____."

Nevertheless, I will continue to vote Republican. The Dems would be worse, IMO.

carl - you are RIGHT about rice.

i am not arguing with your view.

the post is correct.

but we must elections are choices and i don't want my blog to discourage anyone from going out and voting GOP.

the GOP and bush are tons better thasn anyone and everyone in the Dem party - MY PARTY SINCE 1974 - except maybe Joe.

So please don't post anymore negative stuff/critical stuff between now and the election. we can do that AFTER the election. and we should!

ELECTIONS ARE CHOICES. AND WE MUST ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO VOTE FPOR THE BETTER OF THE TWO CHOICES THEY ACTUALLY HAVE.
