AGW = BS.
In this Reuters story (15 December 2009) they report: “Describing a ‘runaway melt’ of the Earth’s ice, rising tree mortality and prospects of severe water scarcities, Gore told a UN audience: ‘In the face of effects like these, clear evidence that only reckless fools would ignore, I feel a sense of frustration’ at the lack of agreement so far.”

Now to most people, “rising tree mortality” raises the specter of a world with less greenery. But how does real world data compare with the virtual modeled world? Is the world getting less greener? Is there any hint of the virtual world in the real world data?
Satellite data for the real world (not the one Mr. Gore lives in) can help give us an idea.
Global
Globally net primary productivity (NPP) has increased. As the IPCC’s WG II report (p. 106) says:
Satellite-derived estimates of global net primary production from satellite data of vegetation indexes indicate a 6% increase from 1982 to 1999, with large increases in tropical ecosystems (Nemani et al., 2003) [Figure 1]. The study by Zhou et al. (2003), also using satellite data, confirm that the Northern Hemisphere vegetation activity has increased in magnitude by 12% in Eurasia and by 8% in NorthAmerica from 1981 to 1999

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday told members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)'s Central Council that he would not be willing to resume peace talks with Israel until the latter stops settlement construction in the West Bank and recognizes the borders of a future Palestinian state, the Chinese News Agency reported.ABBAS/FATAH IS EXPLICITLY REJECTING UNSCR 242; THEREFORE, THEY ARE EXPLICITLY REJECTING THE "PEACE PROCESS":
"If settlement activity were to stop completely for a specific period and borders of a [Palestinian] state were declared within the 1967 borders, we would go to negotiations," Abbas said ahead of the meeting in Ramallah.
During his speech, the PA president called on the world to work toward negotiations that would eventually see a Palestinian state established in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem.
Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.GORE FLAT OUT LIED. WHATTADICKHEAD. IT'S LIKE COING ENITAL WITH HIM: HIS CRAP IS ALWAYS BIGGER, BADDER AND WORSER.
In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference:
“These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”
However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.
“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”
Climategate is a global household name. No cat has ever emancipated itself more completely from the bag. It is a world-wide scandal – thanks to the internet.
Yet, as its ramifications proliferate and dominoes continue to fall, the most repeatedly asked question online is: how can the mainstream media ignore this?
Well, we know the answer to that: the MSM are in thrall to the leftist consensus. End of story.
But let me pose a follow-up question that may be becoming more imminently relevant.
Are the mainstream media capable of surviving their sidelining of the number one global scoop? Are they finally committing suicide?
Next year’s shortfall for the agency came out to $383 million, after sharp drops in state funding and tax revenues.AND SO ON...
The problems were compounded last week when a State Supreme Court judge upheld an arbitration ruling awarding 11.5 percent raises to transit workers over the next three years.
- ... Starting mid-year, fewer subway trains would run in the middle of the day, late at night and on weekends.
- Two lines, the W and Z, would stop running altogether,
- and service on the M and G lines would be reduced.
- Several stations in Lower Manhattan would be closed overnight,
- and dozens of bus lines throughout the boroughs would see a reduction or elimination in service.
- ... Under the plan, hundreds of thousands of students who currently receive free or discounted fares on the city’s transit system will lose half of their discount in September 2010, with the rest swept away by September 2011.

A strong case can be made that when it comes to energy and climate issues, Mr. Bloomberg is the most visionary public official in the country.
And a strong argument can also be made that on a personal level, he ranks among the worst individual polluters ever to hold public office.
Mr. Bloomberg owns a helicopter and two jets, both Falcon 900s. He flies everywhere on private jets, by far the least efficient form of transportation on or above the earth. He takes his jet to Bermuda many weekends. He has flown around the globe on it. He uses it to go to Washington. He is planning to get to Copenhagen for the climate conference by private jet, too.
The carbon math works out like this: by taking his Falcon 900 to Denmark, Mr. Bloomberg will be responsible for the release of 37 times the carbon dioxide than if he and his entourage flew on a scheduled commercial flight.

From the “weather is not climate” department. 815 new snowfall records, 304 low temperature, and 403 lowest max temperature records were set this week.(USE THE LINK FOR FULL DETAILS AND OTHER LINKS.)
