Of 37 populations around the world, Palestinians rank first in their level of support for a nuclear-armed Iran, a new poll has revealed. The survey, taken by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, found that 58 percent of the Palestinian public are in favor of Tehran acquiring atomic weapons, making Palestinians the only Middle Eastern population not opposed to an Iranian bomb."Most of the Muslim countries surveyed have negative or mixed opinions of Iran. Majorities among just three Muslim publics – in Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Palestinian territories – say they favor Iran acquiring nuclear weapons," the survey said.

The poll also shows that only six percent of Palestinians support US policy in the region. That must be because the US hasn't been consistent enough about pursuing a two-state solution over the years. Apparently, in addition to wind, gratitude has also been pushed out of the curriculum in Palestinian schools. Wonder what replaced them... The other countries that have eyebrow-raise inducing negative opinions about the US: Jordan (aid recipient), Egypt (massive aid recipient, including military aid), and Turkey (NATO ally and aid recipient). Hmm...

THE MEDIA LIES- CIVILIANS IN GAZA MYSTERIOUSLY APPEAR IN DESOLATE WARZONES, REAPPEAR IN MEDIA COVERAGE

We wish we could just invent things that make no sense and get them treated as "our side" of the story. "Omri Ceren today claimed to have the best-read blog on the planet, but other bloggers cast doubt on that claim". That would be awesome. But alas, we're not Palestinians:

An air strike was called in near the Karni crossing between Gaza and Israel after gunmen were spotted approaching Israeli forces in the area. The army said the activity was against "terror threats" in Gaza, where Hamas fighters overran security forces loyal to Western-backed Palestinian president Abbas on June 15, effectively creating an Islamic enclave on Israel's doorstep. Medics said 11 Palestinians were killed, including eight fighters in the armed Islamic Jihad, Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades linked to Abbas's Fatah party. Three civilians were killed, including a 12-year-old boy.

Naturally, this is a lie. All the Palestinians killed in the firefight were gunmen. Now why would we believe Israel and not the Palestinians? Mostly because we're able to ask questions like "hey, how would a 12 year old end up in the no-man's land next to the Gaza fence?" Unless he was actually one of the gunmen, which isn't exactly unheard of.

It is nice to see that the international media is paying attention to Gaza civilians though. For some reason that phrase hasn't come up much in the last two weeks - apparently no civilians in Gaza were getting killed during that time, huh? Oh - and it's also nice to see that the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades still have some fight left in them. Not enough to prevent Hamas from rolling over them, killing their leaders and dragging their bodies through the streets, and destroying their schools and homes. But enough to try to kill Israelis.

DECADES OF INTERNATIONALLY SANCTIONED VICIOUS RESENTMENT HAVE TURNED INWARD

Honestly, what did you expect from two decades - at least two decades - of patting the Palestinians on the head and telling them it's not their fault? Here's a story that has not gotten nearly the attention it deserves, because it tells us nothing about where we're going. But it tells us everything about how we got here:

Goodbye boycott. For the first time since January 2006, the EU will donate money to the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority. The EU plans to transfer 4 million euros. The European Union has agreed to transfer 4 million euros (approximately $5 million) to the coffers of the Palestinian Authority government, effectively ending a freeze by Western nations on funding the Hamas terrorist-led entity. "The EU is resuming its support of the Palestinian Authority in a direct manner through the finance ministry," announced PA Finance Minister Dr. Salem Fayyad at a news conference Monday.

This is a perfect epitome of the last two decades of excusing any Palestinian intransigence. A few days ago TAB's JR discussed the logical extreme of this sensibility, which blames Israel for Palestinian infighting. It's also the result of generation after generation being nursed on vague, sometimes anti-Semitic, sometimes anti-Western, always vicious hatred (blame MEMRI! It's their fault for telling us!) Of going into contortions to justify the most loathsome Palestinian barbarity. Listen - pathological resentment can't stay bottled up. It explodes in symptomatic outbursts of mass violence. Denied the ability to take out their vicious hatred on innocent Israelis, seething with decades of of self-pity - of course the Palestinians turned inward. That's what resentment is, that's what it does.

Hamas leader-in-exile Khaled Mashaal denied on Saturday that there had been any change in his organization's policies, and declared that Hamas would neither abandon "armed resistance" nor agree to give up an "inch of Palestinian land."

Mashaal made his statements by phone to Hamas supporters who had gathered in Ramallah to mark Israel's assassination three years ago of Hamas leaders Sheikh Ahmad Yassin and Abdul Aziz Rantisi, Israel Radio reported.

OLMERT: ABU MAZEN BROKE PROMISES

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas blatantly violated a promise to free captive Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit before forming a new national unity government.



Olmert spoke before the weekly Cabinet meeting and ahead of high-profile talks With U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and UN chief Ban Ki-moon, both visiting the region.

"We can't ignore the fact that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority blatantly violated a series of commitments to Israel, especially the commitment that no national unity government would be formed before Gilad Shalit's release," Olmert said.

Olmert said Abbas had made the commitment again and again in meetings between the two leaders, during three-way summits that included Rice, and foreign heads of state.

Murderers - and those who condone murder - will of course LIE! Abu Mazen and his henchmen in FATAH murder Jews and Arabs (their competitors - Hamas); (check out the link - it quotes the FATAH charter - it'll shock you!). They cannot be trusted; therefore. it's time everyone accepted the fact that Israel HAS NO PARTNER WITH WHOM TO MAKE PEACE.

Unless and until the so called "Palestinians" change, there will be no peace.

Abu Mazen is just a slicker, better-coiffed/better dressed version of al Sadr. The West should no more handover more territory to Abu Mazen, then to Hamas (or give Baghdad to the Mahdi Army or give Anbar to al Qaeda, or Basra to Iran).

Just as the UK refused to talk to the IRA until the disarmed, Israel and the West should refuse to deal with - or to even talk to the Pali's, and not give them one red cent - until they disarm their militias.

HECK: IT WAS A PREREQUISITE OF BOTH OSLO AND THE ROADMAP! And neither Arafat or Abu Mazen has EVER lived up to this part of the agreement.

As long as we let them get away with murder... they will murder. It's pretty damn simple. Appeasement of the bad guys always only encourages the bad guys to do more bad things.

Only terrorist-loving anti-Semites like Dhimmi Carter have any business talking to the likes of Abbas. These terrorists need ULTIMATUMS, not concessions.

AQ COMPLAINS THAT HAMAS IS NOT INSANE ENOUGH

Al-Qaida's number two accused Hamas of selling out by agreeing to respect past peace deals with Israel, according to an audio recording broadcast Sunday by Al-Jazeera satellite channel. Ayman al-Zawahri lashed out at the group for making its most concrete commitment to a two-state solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict when it agreed in February during a meeting in Saudi Arabia to "respect" earlier peace deals with Israel.

Here's the thing: Hamas used the word "respect" because they were unwilling to "accept" the peace deals that any Palestinian government is bound to (at least if they're going to pretend to be a real government rather than just the thugs in control for the moment). So essentially, AQ is going after Hamas for pretending that they're willing to consider someday not killing all the Jews. Because once you take that step, you're apparently just a hop, skip, and a jump from being a far Left peacenik.
