IS AMERICA ABOUT TO HEAD OFF A CLIFF?

Why Is It The Palestinians Are Not Being Asked To Initiate Peace?

The United States is putting pressure on Israel to make some "gestures" to the Palestinians ahead of the Annapolis Summit which will attempt to work out an agreement in the Middle East conflict. From AP:

JERUSALEM - The U.S. is pressuring Israel to declare a complete freeze on West Bank settlement construction ahead of a high-stakes peace conference, rejecting
Israel’s long-standing policy of expanding existing communities, Israeli government officials say.

The U.S. also wants Israel to release more Palestinian prisoners than it plans to free before the meeting, expected to take place in Annapolis, Maryland, later this month, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to reveal the information. U.S. Embassy officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

The U.S. has been urging Israel to make a series of gestures to the Palestinians ahead of the summit. American proposals have included an Israeli freeze on West Bank settlement construction and a large-scale release of Palestinian prisoners. Israel holds an estimated 9,000 such prisoners.

Israel maintains that it should be allowed to build housing in settlements to account for the “natural growth” of the existing settler population. The U.S. opposes settlement activity, but President Bush has signaled that he would support Israel’s position that it retain some settlements under a final peace deal.

Why is it that the Palestinians are not being asked to make "gestures"?

Why aren't they asked, or rather told, to cease lobbing missiles at Israeli schools?

Why are they not asked to put a stop to suicide bombings?

Or, at the very least, why aren't they asked to change the charters of Fatah (Palestinian Liberation Organization) and Hamas, which both call for the destruction of the state of Israel?

Why is it that Israel is asked to make concessions and the Palestinians are not?

I believe the reason is everyone knows the Palestinians are not serious partners for peace, and that any request for gestures would be a losing cause.

Read Zechariah, Chapter 12. If we continue to pursue the course we are on - and side with those who would divide Jerusalem - I believe we are in grave danger.

NEWS FROM GAZASTAN: A VIOLENT PEOPLE KILLING THEMSELVES VIOLENTLY

HAARETZ:
  • A 12-year-old Palestinian boy was killed Monday night in the northern Gaza Strip when he was caught in the crossfire between two feuding families near his home.
  • In central Gaza Monday, armed militants shot a pharmacists and his son, wounding them. The men also stole the pharmacist's car.
  • In Gaza City, two Palestinians were hurt during fighting that broke out following a soccer match at a local soccer stadium.
  • Three Palestinians were hurt in an explosion Monday at a Hamas militant's home, near the Gaza beach. The explosion was apparently triggered by the handling of explosives inside the home.
THESE SEEMINGLY "UNRELATED" NEWS ITEMS SUMMARIZE THE HEARTLESS, SOULESS, MURDEROUSLY UNCIVILIZED TRIBAL CHAOS WHICH ISLAMO-FASCISM HAS SOWN IN GAZA.

THIS KIND OF PEOPLE DO NOT DESERVE A NATION. THEY DESERVE CONDEMNATION. AND THEIR VICTIMS DESERVE JUSTICE.

UNTIL ISLAMO-MISOGYNY, POLYGAMY, AND ENDOGAMY ARE BANISHED FROM THESE ENVIRONS THEY WILL BE A BREEDING GROUND FOR JIHADO-TERROR AND TRIBAL WARFARE.

Palestinian Lesbians Safe In Israel

It is not safe to be a lesbian in Palestine.
Many of the attendees said they were sad that the only place safe enough to hold a conference for gay Arab women was in a Jewish area of Haifa, which has a mixed Arab-Jewish population.
How is that for irony?

I got the link from Carl in Jerusalem who asks this question:
Can someone please explain why the queers are for 'Palestine'?

Inherited Rights

Palestinians are claiming the "right of return" is an inherited right.
The right of return “is my right, which I have inherited from my parents and grandparents,” said Maha Bseis, 39, a Palestinian whose family comes from Jerusalem. “But if I have the right, I will not return because I was born and grew up here.”
There is no such thing as an inherited right along the lines the Palestinians claim.

In any case the whole idea is bogus. When 5 Arab Armies attacked Israel in 1948 the Israelis asked the Arabs living in Israel to stay. The attacking Arab Armies asked the Israeli Arabs to leave to make fighting easier. Those that stayed are Israeli citizens. Those that left are not. I think that is a pretty good resolution of the problem. No residency, no rights.

Other wise the Sudenten Germans will be asking for return and recompense. Or the Jews driven out of Arab countries for that matter.

OLMERT: ABU MAZEN BROKE PROMISES

HAARETZ:
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas blatantly violated a promise to free captive Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit before forming a new national unity government.

Olmert spoke before the weekly Cabinet meeting and ahead of high-profile talks With U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and UN chief Ban Ki-moon, both visiting the region.

"We can't ignore the fact that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority blatantly violated a series of commitments to Israel, especially the commitment that no national unity government would be formed before Gilad Shalit's release," Olmert said.

Olmert said Abbas had made the commitment again and again in meetings between the two leaders, during three-way summits that included Rice, and foreign heads of state.
Murderers - and those who condone murder - will of course LIE! Abu Mazen and his henchmen in FATAH murder Jews and Arabs (their competitors - Hamas); (check out the link - it quotes the FATAH charter - it'll shock you!). They cannot be trusted; therefore. it's time everyone accepted the fact that Israel HAS NO PARTNER WITH WHOM TO MAKE PEACE.

Unless and until the so called "Palestinians" change, there will be no peace.

Abu Mazen is just a slicker, better-coiffed/better dressed version of al Sadr. The West should no more handover more territory to Abu Mazen, then to Hamas (or give Baghdad to the Mahdi Army or give Anbar to al Qaeda, or Basra to Iran).

Just as the UK refused to talk to the IRA until the disarmed, Israel and the West should refuse to deal with - or to even talk to the Pali's, and not give them one red cent - until they disarm their militias.

HECK: IT WAS A PREREQUISITE OF BOTH OSLO AND THE ROADMAP! And neither Arafat or Abu Mazen has EVER lived up to this part of the agreement.

As long as we let them get away with murder... they will murder. It's pretty damn simple. Appeasement of the bad guys always only encourages the bad guys to do more bad things.

Only terrorist-loving anti-Semites like Dhimmi Carter have any business talking to the likes of Abbas. These terrorists need ULTIMATUMS, not concessions.

The Despair of the Defeated

The Palestinians are looking in the face of defeat. Here is a bit excerpted from the New York Times:
“It was always our choice to be fuel for the struggle,” he said. “But our problem now is that the car burns the youth as fuel but doesn’t move. There’s a problem in the engine, in the head. These kids are willing to be fuel, but many have been burned as waste.”

Mr. Zubeidi was a hero of the first intifada. “When I was younger I thought, ‘if I die, that’s natural, it’s for a cause,’ ” he said. “And today I think differently. To die? For what? For these people who can’t agree? That’s what this generation fears. It’s lost, and its sacrifices are meaningless. Is the Palestinian dream dying? In these circumstances, yes.”
Once a people lose hope their defeat is well on the way.

Arab Palestinians are no longer loyal to the idea of Palestine. They go through the motions, repeat the slogans, act as if they believed, but really it is over. The USSR was in a similar situation in 1980. By 1988 they had officialy declared defeat to the USA (with an exchange of Defence Ministers) and by '91 they were history.

For Israel now it is just a matter of holding on.

Alan Dershowitz Challenges Feminists

Alan has a few words about the use of rape as a weapon of war. He is refering to Arab gang rapist recently caught in Israel.
The gang of serial rapists, comprising at least six Palestinians, raped a thirteen-year-old girl, a sixteen-year-old girl, a nineteen-year-old woman, and several others. The victims have reported that the rapists have stated that the rapes are acts of terrorism and done in revenge for Israel’s military actions.

This is not the first time Palestinian terrorists have used rape as a tool in their terrorist campaign against Israel. There have been reports of incidents in which Palestinian terrorists have raped Palestinian women and threatened to kill them in “honor killings” unless they agree to restore their family honor by becoming suicide terrorists.
So now you see how the Palestinians get the bearers of life, women, to kill themselves and others. Ugly is not the half of it.

Alan then issues this challenge:
And so I issue the following challenge to radical feminist opponents of Israel: renounce clearly the use of rape as a terrorist weapon, and while you’re at it, renounce all terrorism directed against women, children, and innocent civilians. Just do it without falsely trying to create some moral equivalence between terrorists who rape children and democracies like Israel that try to prevent terrorism and occasionally and unintentionally kill the innocent. Let’s hear it directly and unequivocally and let’s hear it now. No more excuses!
No more excuses.
