IRELAND NEEDS NO MUSLIM DOCTORS

In the wake of Peter Robinson's condemnation of Islam, one of Northern Ireland's surgeons says Muslim doctors could leave the service:
One of Northern Ireland's most senior surgeons has warned that Muslim doctors may leave the health service here as the row over Peter Robinson's comments about Islam deepens.

And as anger grows over his remarks, another senior Muslim medic called on the First Minister to resign because of the hurt he has caused.
As far as I'm concerned, if they want to quit the health industry in Ireland, they can. If they won't accept criticism or admit what their religion is like, then they're not qualified for the job.

BARRY LIVES IN A FANTASYLAND

In Barry Soetoro's fantasyland, the VA scandal, the Benghazi scandal, the Fast and Furious scandal, the mayhem that his policies have unleashed in Libya, Syria, Egypt, and the Ukraine -- these are all minor distractions from the real threat:
“We don’t have to choose between the health of our economy and the health of our children,” he said in his weekly address, which was recorded yesterday at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington. “As president, and as a parent, I refuse to condemn our children to a planet that’s beyond fixing.”
He's too important to manage the Federal government; he's going to save the planet!
President Obama warned Friday that storms like Hurricane Sandy will become more frequent as climate change intensifies.
Meanwhile, in the real world:
The U.S. has been extraordinarily fortunate lately: we have not been witness to the fury of a major hurricane (category 3 or higher) landfall since October 2005 when Wilma hit southwest Florida as a Category 3 storm. (Other countries have not had such good fortune these past few years. )
Since the hyper-active 2005 season, the U.S. has had just six Category 1 and 2 hurricane landfalls: Humberto (TX), Ike (TX), Gustav (LA), Dolly (TX), Irene (NC), and Isaac (LA).  Sandy was not technically a hurricane at its NJ landfall, and if it were, it would have been a Category 1 storm.the hyper-active 2005 season, the U.S. has had just six Category 1 and 2 hurricane landfalls: Humberto (TX), Ike (TX), Gustav (LA), Dolly (TX), Irene (NC), and Isaac (LA).  Sandy was not technically a hurricane at its NJ landfall, and if it were, it would have been a Category 1 storm.
As of the start of this hurricane season, the span will be 3,142 days since the last U.S. major hurricane landfall.  The previous longest span is about 2½ years shorter!
The Democrat Party regime seeks to whip up a frenzy of fear about fantasies of natural catastrophe in order to distract the attention of the public from the real catastrophes that the Democrat Party's policies are inflicting on the Nation, and the world.

NYTIMES: "END MASS INCARCERATION NOW!" - a fisking

The New York Times published what the editorial board must consider a hard-hitting editorial today, calling for the end of "mass incarceration."  It's going to be widely discussed, but let's take an initial look at what the Times editorial board is saying.  Here we go . . . .
"End Mass Incarceration Now"
First of all, the very title is misleading.  As far as I know, there is no “mass incarceration” in the United States.  There are about 2 million individuals in prisons and jails – less than 1% of the population, and they all got there individually, following trials in which they had more of a chance to defend themselves than they would have in any European country. They are not in prison as part of any “mass” group.  There is no "mass" that has been incarcerated as a "mass."
For more than a decade, researchers across multiple disciplines have been issuing reports on the widespread societal and economic damage caused by America’s now-40-year experiment in locking up vast numbers of its citizens. If there is any remaining disagreement about the destructiveness of this experiment, it mirrors the so-called debate over climate change.
Actually  it doesn't mirror the debate over climate change, it's exactly like the debate over climate change: a lot of politically driven noise promoted by the mass media, on the one hand, and a much quieter but more thoroughgoing analysis on the other side.
In both cases, overwhelming evidence shows a crisis that threatens society as a whole. In both cases, those who study the problem have called for immediate correction.
Actually, in both cases, those who have an immediate personal and political interest in their preferred solutions are using the threat of catastrophe to bully an increasingly skeptical and incomplaisant public.  What immediately threatens the American public is the prospect that the Obama administration would put in place an Executive Order to release from the prisons where they belong a million violent criminals whose careers have been at least temporarily placed on hold.
Several recent reports provide some of the most comprehensive and compelling proof yet that the United States “has gone past the point where the numbers of people in prison can be justified by social benefits,” and that mass incarceration itself is “a source of injustice.”
Locking up criminals has purposes other than providing “social benefits.”  In the past, the purpose of providing "justice" was provided by flogging and hanging; prisons were proposed as a more humane alternative, since they would give the criminal a chance to reform himself.  That's why they are called "penitentiaries" - they were intended for the penitent.

Since there is no “mass incarceration” in the United States, as discussed, above, non-existent "mass incarceration" cannot be a “source of injustice.”  However, I think that liberal editorial writers tend to underestimate the social benefit provided by taking violent criminals off the streets, since they tend to live, work, and shop in neighborhoods other than the usual hunting grounds of those violent criminals. People who live in neighborhoods where they are the prey of violent sociopaths are more appreciative of the benefits that accrue from keeping criminals behind bars.
That is the central conclusion of a two-year, 444-page study prepared by the research arm of the National Academy of Sciences at the request of the Justice Department and others. The report highlights many well-known statistics: Since the early 1970s, the nation’s prison population has quadrupled to 2.2 million, making it the world’s biggest. That is five to 10 times the incarceration rate in other democracies.
The fact that incarceration has increased since the 1970s should not be surprising, since it was during the 1970s that incarceration rates in the United States dropped to historical low levels, with the emptying of State mental hospitals and liberal control of the courts.  And the comparison to "other democracies" is irrelevant and meaningless. Without knowing the crime rates that incarceration is intended to ameliorate in any given "democracy," you can't determine if the rate of incarceration is sensible or not
On closer inspection the numbers only get worse. More than half of state prisoners are serving time for nonviolent crimes, and one of every nine, or about 159,000 people, are serving life sentences — nearly a third of them without the possibility of parole.
As the Giuliani/Brock experience in New York City showed, however, the criminals who are committing the non-violent nuisance crimes are the same criminals committing the violent felonies – you need to catch them for whatever you can, and lock them up for as long as possible.  In the long run, that reduces the crime rate enormously.  Career criminals commit many, many crimes in the course of their activities.  Removing a small number of habitual criminals from the streets goes a long way towards making those streets habitable.
While politicians were responding initially to higher crime rates in the late 1960s, this “historically unprecedented” growth is primarily the result of harsher sentencing that continued long after crime began to fall. These include lengthy mandatory minimums for nonviolent drug offenses that became popular in the 1980s, and “three strikes” laws that have put people away for life for stealing a pair of socks.
This is the Times’ Fox Butterfield’s eternal paradox: they just can’t understand why prison populations are high “despite” a drop in the crime rate.  The fact is, that at least one reason the crime rate is lower, is that a larger proportion of the criminals are locked up.
And even though the political climate has shifted in recent years, many politicians continue to fear appearing to be “soft on crime,” even when there is no evidence that imprisoning more people has reduced crime by more than a small amount.
What? I thought that the problem was “harsher sentencing that continued long after crime began to fall”? Which is it?  Are crime rates falling or not? And it should not surprise anyone that voters expect criminals to be kept off the streets.
Meanwhile, much of the world watches in disbelief. A report by Human Rights Watch notes that while prison should generally be a last resort, in the United States “it has been treated as the medicine that cures all ills,” and that “in its embrace of incarceration, the country seems to have forgotten just how severe a punishment it is.”
That’s just exaggerated name-calling. Prison is certainly not considered a medicine that cures all ills.  But it is considered a way to keep the general population out of harm’s way.
The severity is evident in the devastation wrought on America’s poorest and least educated, destroying neighborhoods and families. From 1980 to 2000, the number of children with fathers in prison rose from 350,000 to 2.1 million. Since race and poverty overlap so significantly, the weight of our criminal justice experiment continues to fall overwhelmingly on communities of color, and particularly on young black men.
I think that race is a red herring.  Heather Mac Donald, among others, has shown that the proportions of different ethnic groups in the number of malefactors described to police by victims, in the number of people arrested, in the number who are brought to trial, and in the number who are imprisoned - are all the same.  The racial proportions are the same. Which is in fact evidence that there is in fact no racial bias in the administration of criminal justice in the United States. And although the rates at which young black men commit any measured violent crime are at least several times higher than the rates at which young men of other defined ethnicities commit them, I think that a careful sociological analysis would show, that the crime rates are similar for young men of any race brought up outside nuclear families headed by their fathers. Race is not the issue, the breakdown of traditional families is the issue.
After prison, people are sent back to the impoverished places they came from, but are blocked from re-entering society. Often they cannot vote, get jobs, or receive public benefits like subsidized housing — all of which would improve their odds of staying out of trouble. This web of collateral consequences has created what the National Academy of Sciences report calls “a highly distinct political and legal universe for a large segment of the U.S. population.”
There are consequences to all of our actions. I don’t think it is really fair to say that prisoners are "sent back to the impoverished places they came from", they are just going back home, as anybody would.  And the fact that they have to regain the trust of neighbors and employers is a normal consequence of their previous behavior.
All of this has come at an astounding economic cost, as tallied by a report from the Brookings Institution’s Hamilton Project — $80 billion a year in direct corrections expenses alone, and more than a quarter-trillion dollars when factoring in police, judicial and legal services.
Crime is what causes these costs to be necessary.  The criminals are responsible for the costs of dealing with them. The fact that it costs so much to have police departments, prosecutor's offices, courts, public defenders, jails, and prisons is due to the fact that there are criminals among us.  With fewer criminals, the costs would be lower.
Many of the solutions to this crisis are clear, even if the political path to them often is not: Reduce sentence lengths substantially. Provide more opportunities for rehabilitation inside prison. Remove the barriers that keep people from rejoining society after they are released from prison. Use alternatives to imprisonment for nonviolent offenders, drug addicts and the mentally ill. Release elderly or ill prisoners, who are the least likely to re-offend. And since more than 95 percent of inmates are eventually released, rate prisons on their success in keeping former inmates from returning — which as many as two-thirds currently do. Some states have already taken smart and effective steps in these directions, but there is a long way to go.
These are the preferred remedies that Democrat Party politicians will be pushing:

1) Let all convicts vote – they will all be reliable Democrat voters, right?
2) Let all prisoners out of prison – the Obama Administration has released over 30,000 illegal alien felons, why not release the rest?
3) Shorter sentences.
4) Forbid employers from making criminal background checks of employees – being pushed already.
5) Abolish local zoning and force Section 8 housing projects on relatively low-crime communities.  Then they too will experience the joys of urban culture.

But note that these are "solutions" to the "problem" of "mass incarceration."  But "mass incarceration" is not the root problem.  The real problem is crime.  The real problem is that there are evil, sociopathic people in this world, who do not have a conscience, and who prey upon their neighbors without remorse.  We need a solution to that problem! When you can show me "alternatives to imprisonment" that make a difference, when you can show me that rehabilitation can transform a sociopathic hoodlum into a decent citizen, then we will have something to talk about.  In the meantime, locking these predators up for as long as it takes to keep them off the streets will have to do.
The insanity of the situation is plain to people across the political spectrum, from Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who agree on the urgent need for change. The research is in, and it is uncontestable. The American experiment in mass incarceration has been a moral, legal, social, and economic disaster. It cannot end soon enough.
The insanity of this editorial is plain to me.  Whenever someone tells you that the research is uncontestable, you know that you are in the presence of a "true believer" and not someone whose views are based in reality.

Hillary Clinton's Benghazi comment reminds me of the patricidal murderer who asks for mercy because he's an orphan!

HUFFINGTON POST:
(AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton is defending her handling of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, writing in her new book that she, --quote, "will not be part of a political slugfest on the backs of dead Americans."
When Hillary says:
“I will not be a part of a political slugfest on the backs of dead Americans”
she reminds me of the guy who - after murdering his parents - asks for mercy because he's an orphan!

She can go eff herself.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE VISITS THE WESTERN WALL

And he enraged many so-called palestinians:
According to Saudi-owned news agency Al Arabiya the singer's post "irked" some Palestinian fans who claim "there was never an Israel." However, Timberlake has not addressed any of the comments left on his picture.
He's right not to address them. There's no need to want bigoted deniers of Israel's existence to be fans of his, and the neither the Western Wall nor the Temple Mount should be turned into political issues either.

A Trip Down Memory Lane - Those Heady Days of the 2008 Presidential Election

When we really BELIEVED the oceans would begin to recede, the waters would part, and Obama would give us all free money from "His Stash".

Remember those days?

Yeah, neither do I. I never believe this shit for a second, but ok ...

MEANWHILE, TODAY, THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:

The Media is Finally Catching On? Reporters Laugh At State Dept. Official Who Tells Them, "The President Doesn't Get Enough Credit" For His Foreign Policy

POLICE CAPTURE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE BOMBER

A warning that this heinous form of violence isn't over yet:
The incident began at 10 a.m., when Border Police officers stationed at the roadblock at Tapuach Junction identified a man wearing an oversized coat approaching them. The coat aroused officers’ suspicion since it was a particularly hot day. In keeping with routine protocol, they asked the man to remove his coat from a distance.

The man, a Nablus resident in his 20s, refused at first, but ultimately confessed to carrying explosives. The suspect was subdued and taken to Shin Bet security agency facilities for interrogation. No one was hurt in the incident.

According to experts, the device was made up of 12 pipe bombs strung together. The sappers also confiscated a mobile phone suspected to have been programmed to trigger the explosives.
They're very lucky they thwarted a potential abomination without any deaths or injuries. Here's another report. This is clear proof the mindset and compulsion for committing suicide bombings still lurks out there in the Islamofascist crowd.

LONDON'S PUSH TO BECOME A SHARIA CAPITOL

Breitbart London brought up the UK's obsession with turning London into a sharia finance capitol:
For the United Kingdom, which is already struggling with no-go zones, numerous counts of domestic Islamist terrorism, and growing tension between its Muslim and non-Muslim populations, one has to ask whether strengthening Muslim identity as something apart from British identity is not a recipe for disaster.

A second concern with sharia finance is that it has been a proven source of direct financial assistance to those fighting for Islam. In order to be deemed sharia compliant, a financial institution must pay zakat (tithing): they must contribute an amount that is typically cited as 2.5% of gross, although it can also be more. According to the Qu’ran (9:60), recipients of zakat include the poor, the needy, those who serve the needy, and to free the slaves, but recipients also include “those who fight in the way of Allah”; “people engaged in Islamic military operations for whom no salary has been allotted in the army, or volunteers for jihad without remuneration.” (Reliance of the Traveler, The Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law).
Oh, it's a recipe for disaster alright. But what slaves do they mean exactly? The Muslims themselves? After all, this is a religion that's built upon slavemongering and there's Muslims out there who've kept slaves as house servants.

What is clear is that Koranic verse 9:60 is a belief in welfare and socialism, and much of that could also be used to fund abusive Muslims who don't deserve the dough.

At the end, they warn:
...one has to ask what other legacy sharia finance will leave for London and whether that is a legacy that the United Kingdom can survive. And where the UK goes, the US may soon follow. Already there are 26 states in the US where one can acquire a sharia-compliant mortgage. Such developments may be used by those committed to Islamic theocracy to undermine our democratic systems.
That's exactly why champions of freedom need to confront this serious case in the USA just as much as in the UK.

LET'S MAKE CONGRESS EITHER USE MEDICAID OR THE VA HOSPITALS!

THAT'LL TEACH 'EM!

MUST SEE TV: NBC’s chief foreign correspondent, conceding that he can't name one nation that the USA has better relations with since Obama took office

ARE LIBERALS WAKING UP???

YESTERDAY, THE NYTIMES TRASHED HIS WEST POINT SPEECH.

AND NOW THIS:
MUST SEE TV: NBC’s chief foreign correspondent, conceding that he can't name a single nation that the USA now has better relations with Obama took office.

OBAMA'S FOREIGN POLICY HAS BEEN A DISASTER FOR THE USA AND OUR ALLIES.

OBAMA'S FOREIGN POLICY HAS BEEN A BENEFIT TO OUR ENEMIES.

IF OBAMA AND HIS COMRADES ARE AS SMART AS PEOPLE CLAIM, THEN THE NET RESULT IS TREASON.

IF IT ISN'T TREASON, THEN IT'S GROSS INCOMPETENCE - TO SUCH A DEGREE THAT HIS CONTINUANCE IN OFFICE IS A GRAVE THREAT TO THE NATION.

SINCE THESE RESULTS WERE PREDICTED BY MANY - (BECAUSE THEY ARE LEADING US NOW WHERE THEY HAVE LED OTHERS BEFORE) - THEN EITHER OBAMA AND HIS COMRADES KNEW THESE THINGS WOULD HAPPEN, AND WANTED THEM TO HAPPEN - WHICH IS TREASON...

OR THEY THOUGHT HUBRISTICALLY AND NARCISSISTICALLY THAT THEY WERE SO SO SO SO SO SO SMART THAT THE RESULTS WOULD BE DIFFERENT FOR THEM.

I FEEL VERY STRONGLY BOTH WAYS.

IN EITHER CASE, OBAMA MUST GO, AND THE SOONER THE BETTER.

AT LEAST WITH A GOP CONGRESS WE CAN STOP THE BLEEDING AND MAKE IT TO 2016.

SO VOTE GOP THIS NOVEMBER.

IN FACT - WHEN IT COMES TO STOPPING OBAMA, IT'S NOVEMBER OR NEVER,

PREGNANT PAKISTANI WOMAN STONED TO DEATH WHILE POLICE TURN THEIR BACKS

This isn't the same woman who was sentenced to death in Somalia for apostasy, but it's still a very obscene tragedy that took place:
The husband of the pregnant woman stoned to death in broad day light outside a court in Lahore, has said that police were present during the time of the incident, but they simply stood by as his wife was brutally murdered by the mob.

In the incident, first reported by Reuters on Tuesday, nearly 20 members of Farzana's family, including her father and brothers, attacked her and her husband Mohammad Iqbal with batons and bricks.

The death has been dubbed as "honour killing" as she had married the man she loved without the consent of her family, police said, according to Reuters.

Police have reported that Farzana, who was three months pregnant, was killed in the attack, with a group of onlookers doing nothing to save her.

In a shocking revelation Wednesday, Iqbal -- the husband of the woman who was killed -- said that even the Police were among those who stood by watching the broad daylight brutality.
Of all the worst examples of Kitty Genovese Syndrome, this sticks out as one of the most repulsive. The police are doubtless Muslims themselves, so it shouldn't be surprising they'd stand by in full approval.

IRELAND'S FIRST MINISTER DEFENDS PASTOR WHO CONDEMNED ISLAM

The government leader of Ireland has come to the defense of the pastor who panned Islam as satanic:
Northern Ireland's Equality Commission has expressed concern at remarks by Stormont's First Minister defending a controversial evangelical preacher who said he did not trust Muslims.

Democratic Unionist leader Peter Robinson, who has attended Pastor James McConnell's church in Belfast, said he supported his right to criticise the Islamic faith.

Police are currently investigating the contentious sermon made by the pastor earlier this month to see if its contents constituted a hate crime.

Mr McConnell, who is a fundamentalist Protestant preacher at the Whitewell Metropolitan Tabernacle Church in north Belfast, branded Islam a heathen doctrine during a fiery address.

"People say there are good Muslims in Britain - that may be so - but I don't trust them," he said.

"Islam is heathen, Islam is satanic, Islam is a doctrine spawned in hell."

Mr Robinson insisted claiming not to trust a section of society was not a hate crime.
I'd say he's right. Why should people adhering to nazism and communism be trusted either? McConnell's opinions are no different from what somebody wary of those two ideologies would feel. Robinson was right to speak in his defense.

GOP: "GLOBAL WARMING IS JUST MOTHER NATURE BEING BOSSY"

I just made that up. It's a test to see how long before some leftist believes it and it starts spreading like wildfire and ends up first on MSNBC and then in a Harry Reid speech on the floor of the Senate. Of course Reid will say one of the Koch's said it.

ON JERUSALEM DAY, PLO CONTINUES TO DEMAND CITY BE ITS CAPITAL

Today was Jerusalem Day, celebrating the reunification of the city. But if there's anyone who hated it here, it was none other than the PLO:
The Palestinian Authority on Wednesday reiterated its position that east Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian state.

The announcement came in response to Jerusalem Day and statements by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to the effect that Jerusalem would remain the eternal and undivided capital of Israel

Nabil Abu Rudaineh, spokesman for PA President Mahmoud Abbas, said that there would be no peace agreement with Israel without east Jerusalem becoming the capital of the Palestinian state.
Which is just as well. If it were "their" capital, there wouldn't be any peace, and crime would be much more rampant. Furthermore, this is supposed to be a day of joy, so the PLO can shut their jaws and go to hell for all I care.

OBAMA'S SPEECH AT WEST POINT SHOWCASES HIS FOREIGN POLICY FAILURES

I WATCHED THE SPEECH.

EVEN CNN'S CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR SAID AFTERWORDS IT WAS A WEAK SPEECH BY A PRESIDENT WHOSE FOREIGN POLICIES AND USE OF MILITARY FORCE HAS BEEN AWFUL.

OBAMA'S ONLY WIN HAS BEEN BURMA.

WHOOPEE!

AS EXAMPLES OF THE SUCCESS OF HIS PIVOT TO MULTILATERALISM AND AWAY FROM MILITARY CONFRONTATION, OBAMA CITED TWO THINGS: UKRAINE AND IRAN:
Now, there are lot of folks, a lot of skeptics who often downplay the effectiveness of multilateral action. For them, working through international institutions, like the U.N. or respecting international law, is a sign of weakness. I think they’re wrong. Let me offer just two examples why.
In Ukraine, Russia’s recent actions recall the days when Soviet tanks rolled into Eastern Europe. But this isn’t the Cold War. Our ability to shape world opinion helped isolate Russia right away.
Because of American leadership, the world immediately condemned Russian actions, Europe and the G-7 joined with us to impose sanctions, NATO reinforced our commitment to Eastern European allies, the I.M.F. is helping to stabilize Ukraine’s economy, O.S.C.E. monitors brought the eyes of the world to unstable parts of Ukraine.
And this mobilization of world opinion and international institutions served as a counterweight to Russian propaganda and Russian troops on the border and armed militias in ski masks.
This weekend, Ukrainians voted by the millions. Yesterday, I spoke to their next president. We don’t know how the situation will play out, and there will remain grave challenges ahead, but standing with our allies on behalf of international order, working with international institutions, has given a chance for the Ukrainian people to choose their future — without us firing a shot.
Similarly, despite frequent warnings from the United States and Israel and others, the Iranian nuclear program steadily advanced for years. But at the beginning of my presidency, we built a coalition that imposed sanctions on the Iranian economy, while extending the hand of diplomacy to the Iranian government. And now we have an opportunity to resolve our differences peacefully.
The odds of success are still long, and we reserve all options to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. But for the first time in a decade, we have a very real chance of achieving a breakthrough agreement, one that is more effective and durable than what we could have achieved through the use of force.
And throughout these negotiations, it has been our willingness to work through multilateral channels that kept the world on our side.
The point is, this is American leadership. This is American strength.
In each case, we built coalitions to respond to a specific challenge. Now we need to do more to strengthen the institutions that can anticipate and prevent problems from spreading.
EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME?!?!?!

THE FREE WORLD IS LOSING IN BOTH OF THESE INSTANCES!
  • PUTIN IS WINNING THE UKRAINE
  • AND IRAN IS STEADILY MARCHING TOWARD HAVING A NUKE.
ANS THEY ARE WINNING BECAUSE OBAMA'S POLICIES ARE FAILING!

THE ONLY WAY IN WHICH OBAMA;S POLICIES MIGHT BE SAID TO BE A SUCCESS IS IF THEY WERE DESIGNED TO HELP OUR ENEMIES.
THE OVERTHROW OF MUBARAK HAS BEEN A DISASTER; WE HAVE LOST EGYPT AND IT MIGHT BE PICKED UP BY PUTIN.

THE OVERTHROW OF KADDAFY HAS BEEN A DISASTER; LIBYA IS A MESS, WEAPONS WE GAVE TO KADDAFY'S OPPONENTS HAVE GOTTEN INTO THE HANDS OF BOKO HARAM AND OTHER TERRORISTS. KADDAFY WAS A POS, BUT AT THE TIME OBAMA TOOK HIM OUT, KADDAFFY WAS HELPING US ATTACK AL QAEDA.

THE FAILURE TO ENFORCE HIS OWN "RED-LINE" IN SYRIA HAS EXPOSED OBAMA AS A COWARD AND A KNAVE AND EMPOWERED ALL OUR ENEMIES - ESPECIALLY IRAN AND PUTIN.

NIGERIA AND AFRICA ARE LOSING GROUND TO JIHADISTS.

THAILAND IS DEVOLVING INTO A MILITARY JUNTA.

CHINA IS INCREASINGLY ADVENTURESOME AND TESTING US AND OUR ALLIES IN THE REGION.

AND THE MIDDLE EAST PEACE PROCESS IS DEAD; ALL OBAMA HAS ACCOMPLISHED THERE IS ALIENATING ISRAEL.

THEN TO TOP IT OFF, OBAMA TRIED A LITTLE SLEIGHT OF HAND - A LITTLE MESMERIZATION:

OBAMA CLAIMED THAT HE BELIEVED IN AMERCIAN EXCEPTIONALISM.
I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being. But what makes us exceptional is not our ability to flout international norms and the rule of law; it is our willingness to affirm them through our actions.
REPEAT:
our willingness to affirm international norms and the rule of [INTERNATIONAL] law
SURE: IN OTHER WORDS, IF AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM WERE REDEFINED TO MEAN BEING SUBORDINATED TO THE UN AND ICC, THEN HE'S ALL FOR IT!

SHEESH! MORE ON THIS AT POWER LINE.

UPDATE: MUCH IS BEING MADE OF OBAMA'S USE OF THE STRSRSW MAN IN THIS SPEECH.

WE COVERED HIS ABUSE OF THIS TROPE 5 YEARS AGO:

FRIDAY, MAY 22, 2009

OBAMA IS A ONE TRICK PONY: THE STRAW MAN

THE STRAW MAN:

straw man argument is an informal fallacybased on misrepresentation of an opponent's position.[1] To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by substituting a superficially similar proposition (the "straw man"), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position.[1][2]
OBAMA USES THIS OLD JEDI MINDTRICK ALL THE TIME.

IN SHORT:

OBAMA'S FOREIGN POLICY HAS BEEN A DISASTER.

IF OBAMA HAD A SHRED OF DECENCY OR PATRIOTISM, THEN HE'D RESIGN.

BUT OBAMA IS NEITHER A DECENT OR PATRIOTIC MAN.

NEED A REMINDER? HERE:
"IF YOU LIKE YOUR AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM THEN YOU CAN KEEP YOUR AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM."
OBAMA IS EITHER A MENDACIOUS BASTARD OR A LYING SON OF A BITCH.

OR BOTH.

NIGERIA'S POLITICIANS DIVIDED ON HOW TO SAVE SCHOOLGIRLS FROM BOKO HARAM

The army won't set out on a rescue mission:
There is apparent disagreement between Nigeria's military chiefs and its president over how to rescue nearly 300 schoolgirls abducted by Islamic extremists, with the military saying use of force could get the hostages killed and the president ruling out demands for a prisoner exchange.

Defense chief Air Marshal Alex Badeh announced Monday night that the military has located the girls, but offered no way forward.
Well that's appalling, because not only will the girls suffer misery, the jihadists will still be roaming free. How is justice to be done if they don't figure out a way to deal with the crisis?

Howard Kurtz Runs Hit Piece on O'Keefe --- Kurtz and Other Media-Whores Think The Issue is Greed - It's Not Greed, You Fucking Pig

Kurtz, you fucking pig.

The Horror. The Horror.

O'Keefe catches Ed Begley Jr., Mariel Hemingway, and "producer" Josh Trickell in the act of accepting money from a "rich oil Sheikh" who tells them OUTRIGHT THAT HIS INTENTION IS TO HARM AMERICA,

AND THEY ARE OK WITH THAT.

Here's what Kurtz says about it:
Hemingway and Begley were not looking to raise a dime and have no stake in the proposed fracking documentary. They were there at the request of director Josh Tickell, a liberal filmmaker whose past work has focused on biofuels and the BP oil spill.

THE ISSUE IS NOT GREED, KURTZ.

THE ISSUE IS TREASON.

I would so love to string these Hollywood bitchez up.

Hang 'em high. Fucking Jane Fonda wannabes.

UPDATE -

I've been thinking about this since I wrote the post. I realize my outrage does not suffice to articulate what is going on here.

The people involved in this Treasonous act against our nation do not understand what they have done wrong. That is stunning to me, but when I think about it, there is a good reason for their uncomprehending, yet clearly intended villainy.

Mariel Hemingway went on TV and absolutely owned up to all the facts in the video, and she did so AS IF THE FACTS ABSOLVED HER.

Again, she thinks the issue is greed, but it's treason.

Similarly, Ed Begley Jr. had the audacity to ask authorities to investigate O'Keefe for what he did for pulling off this sting. Begley thinks O'Keefe has done wrong, but that he, the Treasonous maniac, is innocent.

The reason these people, Kurtz, Hemingway, and Ed Begley Jr. believe they can admit to the facts and that will absolve them is this:

THEY, AND THEIR FRIENDS, GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF TREASON ALL THE TIME.

But the repetition of Treason does not make it any less so. Treason is Treason.

Treason is giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

This "rick oil Sheikh" made it clear that he is an enemy of the United States of America. And they went along with his scheme. That is Treason. Plain and simple.

These people are willing to admit the facts because they don't believe they have done anything wrong. The reason they don't believe they have done anything wrong is because they believe America is an evil nation, and to betray their country, to commit Treason is the right thing to do.

And this feeling is reinforced for them, because they see people committing treason all the time.

Treason has become fashionable in the circles in which they travel.

That being said, I have rarely seen a more outright case of Treason than this.

Matt Damon did the same thing with his movie, but he failed at hiding the facts.

This time, they attempted to hide the facts and they got stung by O'Keefe. A failure to hide the facts does not absolve Treason.

So Matt Damon committed Treason too, but he got caught, and nothing happened to him. This adds to the feeling of invincibility that people like Hemingway, Kurtz, and Begley have about their actions.

It is time to call them on the truth of their Treason. I am serious. If it were up to me, they would be tried for Treason, and if found guilty, they would be executed.

I would be happy to be the one who pulled the lever for the trap door to fall out from beneath their feet, so I can hear the sound of the noose snapping their Treasonous little necks.

OTTAWA MUSEUM HONORS MURDEROUS JIHADISTS

A museum at the city hall in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada is running an exhibition paying tribute to Muslim murderers, and the municipality refuses to close it (Hat tip: The Jawa Report):
The City of Ottawa has no plans to remove an exhibit at City Hall that glorifies barbaric child-killing terrorists, despite the Israeli ambassador's protests, conveyed in a meeting with Mayor Jim Watson.

The deputy city manager said the city isn't embarrassed by the exhibit and has no plans to take it down, according to the Toronto Sun.

Toronto-based artist Rehab Nazzal created the exhibit, called "Invisible," which includes a piece called "Target," comprised of a series of projections against a white wall depicting what the artist calls "assassinated Palestinian figures." The exhibit booklet says the projections — which are flashed quickly on the wall making their written descriptions difficult to read — are of "lost artists, activists, writers and leaders."

Ambassador Rafael Barak said he isn't demanding the artwork be removed, but wants to let Canadians know that some of the alleged "artists and leaders" were also murderers. "I think the Canadian public should know that these people killed civilians," Barak said. "In a way, this exhibit is glorifying terrorism."
It does worse than that. It's devil worship. Seriously. And the city management is covering for this. This is just the kind of filth that can make some people lose trust in the great white north.

DID THE POPE SYMPATHISE WITH THE PLO PROPAGANDA?

On his journey here in the mideast, the Pope went to a very questionable area for prayer:
Pope Francis made an unscheduled stop at the Israelibuilt barrier that separates the town of Bethlehem from Jerusalem on Sunday, praying against the wall that has come to symbolize Arab-Israeli division.

The unexpected gesture came as the Pope was en route to Manger Square, where Jesus is thought to have been born about 2,000 years ago. Ordering his white Popemobile to stop, he clambered out and pressed his forehead against the wall, which Israel began building a decade ago to keep suicide bombers from attacking Jerusalem. Palestinians see it as a symbol of their oppression, and the section that the Pope chose to stop at bore graffiti saying "Free Palestine."

While the gesture delighted Palestinians, Israeli officials tried to play down the significance of the Pope's decision to stop at the barrier on the hills between Jerusalem and the West Bank. "There's nothing political here," said a foreign ministry spokesman, who accused the Palestinians of turning the papal visit into "a propaganda stunt.

"But that's what they do and the Vatican plays along with it."
See, that's the problem. The Vatican is not protesting these propaganda tactics the PLO is doing, and that only raises further questions whether the Pope really was deliberate in his choice of where to take a moment to pray.
In another surprise initiative, the Pontiff, on a threeday tour of the Middle East, sought to revive the Arab-Israeli peace process, which broke down last month. He invited Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, and Shimon Peres, the president of Israel, to a meeting at the Vatican. [...]

The failure of peace efforts was "increasingly unacceptable," he said earlier, standing alongside Abbas at a welcoming ceremony. [...]

His reference to "the State of Palestine" rather than "Palestinian Territories," and his decision to fly direct from Jordan to Bethlehem, bypassing Israeli territory, were interpreted by many as tacit support for the creation of a Palestinian state.
Well that was really dumb, and he shouldn't have gone there to begin with if he wound up symbolizing support for the PLO's visions. I'm also appalled at his chumminess with Peres, and his invitation to Abbas. That does not inspire trust in the current Pope, I'm afraid.
