EVEN MORE PROOF HUNTSMAN IS OBAMA'S STALKING HORSE: WHITMAN OF AMERICANS ELECT ENDORSES HIM FOR 3RD PARTY RUN
Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman seems to have picked up a new fan in the person of former New Jersey Governor and EPA chief (under George W. Bush) Christine Todd Whitman. Seeing Whitman jumping in for something (or somebody) outside the conservative mainstream is nothing unusual, and this is no exception. She’s not necessarily pushing for Huntsman to get the GOP nod, but rather for her new, third party initiative.
Former New Jersey Gov. Christie Todd Whitman, who is leading a group to draft a third-party presidential candidate, is encouraging Jon Huntsman to make an independent bid for the White House.
“I would hope he would do it, frankly. He’s someone that I would support,” Whitman said Friday in an interview with POLITICO.
Whitman, a Republican, said a third-party effort by Huntsman is the way to go because she believes it’s unlikely he has much of shot at the GOP nomination. “I don’t see that kind of traction unless he can pull off a surprise in New Hampshire, where independents are allowed to vote,” she said.
Whitman is a board member for Americans Elect, an initiative to get a third party candidate directly selected by independents around the country on the ballot in all fifty states.
BEFORE ANYONE ELSE ANYWHERE.
I BETCHYA THERE AIN'T ONE CHRISTMAS SONG HE CAN SING BY HEART - NOT EVEN JINGLE BELLS - AFTER ALL, THEY DON'T TEACHYA JINGLE BELLS IN THE MADRASSAS OF INDONESIA! (OR THE ELITE LEFTIST SCHOOLS OF HAWAII).
The Israeli government withdrew an ad campaign Friday after a rare backlash from major U.S. Jewish groups for appearing to urge expatriates not to marry American Jews or raise children in the United States. To imply that Jewish Americans are terminally stupid that they don't understand anything deriving from Jewish traditions and customs is not only absurd and far reaching, it's also taking a serious risk of alienation. As though there aren't enough problems already, even here, between religious/secular, Hasidic/non-Hasidic, that the right has finally begun to try and fix.
The ads struck a nerve in a community that has long debated the nature of the Jewish identity and struggled with issues of assimilation, intermarriage and tensions between religious and secular Jews.
The first ad showed a young Israeli woman wincing after her American boyfriend mistakes candles and music marking Israel's solemn memorial day for a romantic night in.
A narrator intoned: "They will always remain Israelis. Their partners won't always understand what that means. Help them return to Israel."
A second ad showed shock flashing across the faces of a pair of Israeli grandparents when their granddaughter shouted "Christmas" in English when asked what holiday she was celebrating during a video chat.
This time the narrator said: "They will always remain Israelis. Their children won't."
The ad campaign, which also included billboards in Hebrew urging Israelis to come home before their children started calling them "Daddy" instead of the Hebrew term "Abba", rippled through social media sites and was picked up by the Jewish Channel and a number of influential blogs.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the ads be pulled "immediately" and a statement released by the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, said the premier "deeply values the American Jewish community."
Ambassador Oren issued an apology for "any offence" caused by the ads, noting that while the campaign had the "laudable" aim of encouraging Israelis to return home it "did not take into account American Jewish sensibilities."
It was also conducted "without the knowledge or approval of the prime minister's office or of the Israeli embassy in Washington," he said after the ads triggered outrage.
Biggest question in all this affair is: who conceived and greenlighted this ad campaign, and will the perpetrators be held accountable for their actions?
As reprehensible as this ad campaign was, and I'm glad to see it was pulled, there's one voice in all this who's not fit to criticize the Israeli government: Jeffrey Goldberg, who said:
"I don't think I have ever seen a demonstration of Israeli contempt for American Jews as obvious as these ads," wrote Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic magazine.Pardon? Last year, Goldberg did something pretty offensive himself, which was to call on people not to donate to the JNF following their campaign for relief funds after a forest fire that appears to have been arson. According to Rob Miller:
Goldberg urges people not to donate, because after all, those Rich Jew Boys have plenty of money, and besides, it’s all their own fault anyway for not having their fire services up to Goldberg’s standards, him being an expert and all.Jeff Dunetz has more on that here. I don't think I've ever seen a demonstration of contempt for Israeli Jews as obvious as what Goldberg had to offer, and thus, just who is he to criticize the ad campaign? Something tells me that if this were a leftist government in charge, he'd be far less inclined to open his big mouth, suggesting that his response is merely out of political bias.
Donate to Haiti, to Muslims in East Asia hit by tsunamis, to the ‘Palestinians’ for no apparent reason, to every other disaster under the sun, fine. But Israel? No way, not according to Goldberg. And the fact that he singles Israel out for special treatment … well, there’s a word for that.
Israel’s fire fighting services were more than adequate for years until they were suddenly hit with a number of fires the country had never experienced before where arson is suspected apparently doesn’t interest him in the least.
That aside, the campaign was lousy, and I hope they're going to review these projects much more carefully before greenlighting them in the future.

OBAMA'S ANTI-ISRAEL POLICIES NEVER STOP: NOW PANETTA BLAMES ISRAEL FOR ANTI-ZIONISM OF TURKEY AND NEW EGYPT!!!
US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta has urged Israel to "mend fences" with Turkey, Egypt and others in the Middle East to reduce its growing isolation.
In a speech in Washington, he said Israel was not entirely to blame, referring to an "international campaign" to isolate it.
Mr Panetta called on Israel to restart peace talks with the Palestinians.
He added that the US remained committed to Israel's security and would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.
"NOT ENTIRELY TO BLAME"?!?!?! THIS IS TOTALLY FU*KING DESPICABLE.
1 - THE PALESTINIANS ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE REFUSED TO NEGOTIATE, NOT ISRAEL; IT IS THE PALESTINIANS - ALONG WITH THEIR ALLY OBAMA - WHO HAVE DEMANDED ISRAEL MEET NEW PRECONDITIONS BEFORE THEY WILL EVEN MEET WITH ISRAELIS LET ALONE NEGOTIATE ANYTHING.
2 - THANKS TO OBAMA, EGYPT IS EFFECTIVELY RULED BY THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD - WHOSE EGYPTIAN HEAD SAYS THEY WILL FINISH THE JOB HITLER STARTED. (SEE VIDEO AT BOTTOM VIA DOUG ROSS.)
THAT IS NOT ISRAEL'S FAULT AND APPEASING THESE ANTI-SEMITIC GENOCIDAL SCUMBAGS WILL NOT LEAD TO PEACE OR INCREASE SECURITY FOR ANYONE IN THE WEST, LET ALONE ISRAEL,
3 - TURKEY IS RULED BY ISLAMISTS - THE AKP - WHO HAVE DELIBERATELY AND PROVOCATIVELY ATTEMPTED TO BREAK THE LEGAL BLOCKADE ISRAEL HAS IMPOSED ON HAMAS AND GAZA.
THIS IS NOT ISRAEL'S FAULT AND APPEASING TURKEY WILL NOT MAKE THE WEST OR ISRAEL ANY SAFER OR MAKE PEACE ANY MORE LIKELY.
OBAMA AND HIS COMRADES - PANETTA AND HILLARY INCLUDED - HAVE DONE MORE TO DAMAGE ISRAEL'S SECURITY THAN ANYONE IN THE WEST HAS FOR THE LAST 60 YEARS.
OBAMA IS AN ENEMY OF ISRAEL - AND JEWS WHO VOTE FOR HIM ARE NO BETTER THAN THE JEWS WHO HELPED THE NAZIS.

Denmark’s first immigrant MP is leaving politics to work for the Washington, DC-based think tank, the Hudson Institute.MORE ON KHADER:
The Konservative politician Naser Khader used his Facebook page on Sunday to announce that he was quitting Danish politics.
“I’ll be travelling around the Arab world conducting research on freedom of expression and the growth of democracy. It will also have to do with the consequences of the Arab Spring,” Khader wrote, adding that he would continue to live in Denmark, while commuting to Washington and the Middle East.
Naser Khader (Arabic: ناصر خضر) (born July 1, 1963) is Danish-Syrian and a former member of the Parliament of Denmark for the Conservative Party. As a member of Parliament, he has represented both Social Liberal Party and Liberal Alliance, the latter as founding leader, until January 5, 2009. A leading proponent of peaceful co-existence of democracy and Islam, he established a new movement, Moderate Muslims (later renamed Democratic Muslims), when the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy began.
In the national elections on 13 November 2007, Naser Khader's Liberal Alliance party won five parliamentary seats. After a crumbling of the party and its membership base, Naser Khader himself left the party. Following a short period as an Independent Member of the Danish Parliament, Naser Khader joined the Conservative People's Party on on March 17, 2009. Khader lost his mandate in the 2011 Danish parliamentary election.
Khader is co-founder of an association of globally critically acclaimed Islamism critics, who work to promote freedom of speech and inspire moderate Muslims worldwide. Khader, and the Conservative Party advocate a complete ban on the burqa as part of an integration initiative by the Conservatives' parliamentary group, describing it as un-Danish and oppression against women.
I'm quite sure that if there was a net employment gain (I don't believe that either and I will explain why at the bottom) that the reason was CHRISTMAS HIRING.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Employers likely added more jobs in November, encouraged by signs of modest economic growth. But the gains aren't expected to be enough to lower the unemployment rate.About one month ago, a report came out (on the Associated Press newswire) which indicated that America now has just as many people who have fallen off the Unemployment rolls - without having found a job - as there are "unemployed people".
Economists forecast that employers added a net 125,000 jobs last month, an improvement from October's gain of 80,000. The unemployment rate is expected to stay at 9 percent for the second straight month.
Some economists have revised their estimates even higher — to roughly 150,000 — after a spate of positive economic reports. And payroll provider ADP said Wednesday that private companies added 206,000 jobs last month.
Still, analysts say that while the economy is growing at a steady pace, it's not accelerating enough to prompt employers to hire more aggressively.
And Europe's financial crisis threatens to slow U.S. growth next year.
The government tends to call these people, "people no longer looking for work."
In other words, the government does not consider these people unemployed.
But, considering the fact they used to work and receive a paycheck for doing so, I can not imagine they consider themselves anything but unemployed, right?
If there is 9% Unemployment and 9% "people who are no longer looking for work", that means there is at least 18% Unemployment.
This modest gain in jobs during the Christmas season which is being touted as evidence of growth is a sick joke.
We are in a Global Depression. That is the reality.
Obama must be removed from office. He is a clear and present danger to the United States, whether he intends to be so or not.
UPDATE - According to the way Unemployment numbers used to be counted, the rate is 22%.

I suppose I should note that even here in Israel, we too have problems like those that can be read about in this op-ed by Michael Freund. Yes, in this case, the attorney-general has practically taken it upon himself to persecute rabbis for free speech. Sure, some can have a very awkward approach to the matter (is rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu's stating that Arabs have a cruel culture, rather than that Islam in itself is a cruel religion and ideology, the best way to make a point?), but that doesn't mean they weren't being altruistic, and in any case, when leftists who made more inciteful statements aren't prosecuted, something is clearly wrong.
I do hope that Spencer's next visit will be to here if he hasn't made one yet, because it could have significance in the same way that his visit to Oz can.
Israeli officials said in a report Wednesday that a mysterious explosion at an Iranian nuclear facility two days ago was no accident.
The eyebrow-raising remarks surfaced in a Times of London story reporting that satellite images show smoke billowing from the uranium enrichment facility in the city of Isfahan.
“There aren’t many coincidences,” retired Major-General Giora Eiland told Israel’s army radio, noting that it was the second attack on an Iranian nuclear site in a month.
“When there are so many events, there is probably some sort of guiding hand, though perhaps it’s the hand of God,” said Eiland, who is Israel’s former national security chief.

The party formed by the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s mainstream Islamist group [WTF?!?!?], appeared to have taken about 40 percent of the vote, as expected. But a big surprise was the strong showing of ultraconservative Islamists, called Salafis, many of whom see most popular entertainment as sinful and reject women’s participation in voting or public life.THANKS OBAMA!
Analysts in the state-run news media said early returns indicated that Salafi groups could take as much as a quarter of the vote, giving the two groups of Islamists combined control of nearly 65 percent of the parliamentary seats.

China's factory sector shrank in November for the first time in nearly three years, an official purchasing managers' index (PMI) showed on Thursday, underlining the central bank's move to cut bank reserve requirements to shore up the economy.
The fall in the PMI to 49 from 50.4 in October is likely to feed worries that the global economy is on a slippery slope as the euro zone struggles to decisively tackle its two-year debt crisis. China's export orders fell sharply.

(ANSAmed) - CAIRO - The Muslim Brotherhood are the top party in Egypt according to the first reports by local press outlets. While vote counting continues for the uninominal part of the first post-Mubarak parliamentary elections, indications show that the Freedom and Justice party, which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Salafi party coalition Al Nour are in the lead in six governorates, according to the daily paper Al Ahram. According to the daily Al Shouruk, Freedom and Justice raked in 47% of the votes while the secular and moderate Egyptian Bloc coalition received 22%. In the first round of voting, which ended yesterday, the residents of nine governorates cast their votes, including those in Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Asyut and Port Said.(ANSAmed).Some "spring" alright. More like blizzard freezing, and hell burning over. And it's disgusting how movements with totalitarian inspirations blatantly use positive words to name their parties.
Writer and activist Sam Husseini asked Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal a tough question at a National Press Club news conference earlier this month. As a result, and much to the chagrin of his colleagues, his membership in the organization was suspended. Some noteworthy parts of the main interview:
“There’s been a lot of talk about the legitimacy of the Syrian regime,” Husseini asked Prince Turki, the kingdom’s former ambassador to the United States. “I want to know what legitimacy your regime has, sir.”
“You come before us, representative of one of the most autocratic, misogynistic regimes on the face of the earth,” Husseini continued. “Human Rights Watch and others report of torture, detention of activists, you squelched the democratic uprising in Bahrain, you tried to overturn the democratic uprising in Egypt, and indeed you continue to oppress your own people. What legitimacy does your regime have — other than billions of dollars and weapons?”
Husseini’s blunt tone and line of questioning, both unusual for the club, did not escape notice. He was quickly reprimanded, and within hours, his membership in the club had been suspended.
“Raising eyebrows is good,” Husseini told The Daily Caller in an interview, “a lot better than lowering eyelids.”
He offered no apologies for his manner of questioning, saying that “there is an objective reality. Real people are suffering. It should be said. I think my questions come off like fingernails on chalkboard to certain people because they question the established order and certain facts are so inconvenient.”
The uproar following Husseini’s interview was bad publicity for the National Press Club, and by Monday morning they had reversed their decision. “I welcome this decision and aim to ask ever tougher and sharper questions,” Husseini wrote on his blog. “I hope others will as well.”
2) Where does the situation with the National Press Club stand? Are you still suspended? Do expect to ever become a member in good standing again? And what has the reaction been from your colleagues — are people standing with you, or are people telling you you were out of bounds that day?Now this is definitely important stuff, and challenging the prince about the vicious regime he lords over along with a number of other demonic fiends was definitely a bold step to take.
I’ve gotten a lot of support from people, some at the Press Club and a lot online, and I’m very grateful for that. After I wrote an open letter to the Press Club Ethics Committee, they lifted the suspension. I sincerely hope I won’t be singled out in any way after this point — or more properly, I hope the Press Club will actually encourage, not just me, but others to be asking the critical “let’s talk about the elephant in the room” type questions.
3) Your question was blunt, and I can see why it would raise eyebrows. Were you surprised at the reaction you got from the Press Club staff? Would you perhaps rephrase it if you could do it again? Why was it important for you to say the Saudi regime is one of the most “autocratic, misogynistic regimes” on earth, and not just ask how Turki justifies the legitimacy of the regime?
Raising eyebrows is good, a lot better than lowering eyelids. I would do it fundamentally the same. There was a bit of crosstalk as I added at the end of my question — what is your legitimacy, “other than billions of dollars and weapons” and I wish I’d gotten that out more clearly. I wish it were tougher, sharper. My actual question was 37 seconds, before the “Prince” attempted to have a folksy back and forth asking me if I’d been to Saudi Arabia, like you had to go to Stalin’s Soviet Union to know that was oppressive. I believe it’s good to have succinct factual information setting up a question, especially given how ill informed the U.S. public has been. Some things are true. It is an “autocratic, misogynistic regime.” There is an objective reality. Real people are suffering. It should be said. I think my questions come off like fingernails on chalkboard to certain people because they question the established order and certain facts are so inconvenient.
Unfortunately, here's where this guy - and the site's staff to boot - jaw-droppingly dampen the impact of his whole discussion:
5) Conservatives often charge that the media has a liberal bias, and liberals are now starting to say there’s actually a conservative bias. Would you say one is more correct than the other, and do you think it’s possible to have a truly objective media? Would you say that you come at the issues from either a left or right perspective, and if so, does that matter? If you think his saying "pro-war/corporate" is bewildering, it is. So too is any support he and the DC are giving to a demagogue moonbat like Paul. Huh?!? Let me now see if I can counter his claim the MSM don't care about Paul, by providing a couple of items from source like the Associated Press, Houston Chronicle, Detroit Metro Times, US News & World Report, MSNBC, and just about whatever else you can find on Google's news. (Also see this earlier topic.) That's not wide coverage, especially from the AP?
I think quite often the issues are not left or right — there is a pro-corporate, pro-war bias. So, for example, much of the establishment media clearly have it in for Ron Paul, either ignoring or attempting to belittle his candidacy. Left-right is breaking down in many ways. That was the idea behind another project of mine: VotePact.org — which advocates conscientious conservatives (who are trapped by establishment Republican operatives) pairing up with principled progressives (who have been trapped by establishment Democratic apparatchiks). So you’d siphon off votes in pairs to third or independent candidates, thus solving the “spoiler” problem. One could vote for the Green or Socialist candidates while the other for the Libertarian or Constitution Party candidates — or you could have the emergence of a Ron Paul-Denis Kucinich type ticket. The two of them agree with each other on war, Wall Street bailouts, corporate trade deals and a host of other issues. They have majority support, but they don’t win because the Bush-Clinton axis and much of the corporate establishment is on the other side.
Next, I have to present a challenging question of my own: if he's signaling support for Paul, how can he possibly support a politician who advocates turning a deaf ear and blind eye at Iran's nuclear weapon development? Even now, after the explosion that took place circa their uranium development in Isfahan, that doesn't mean the danger is over, nor should we turn our backs to the kind of oppression they happen to lead upon their own public. But that's what Paul is doing, and how Husseini can ignore that - not to mention the fact that many conservatives, Breitbart included, happen to dislike him because of his Chomskyite tactics - is beyond me.
However, this is indicative of a problem I happen to have with the Daily Caller - they seem strangely supportive or at least blandly tolerant of Paul's moonbat mindset and even hostility to Israel, not to mention they ignored how quite a few kooks have supported him. That last topic also mentions how Paul gave a speech of his own against the killing of al-Awlaki at the very National Press Club Husseini goes to, which makes me wonder if something odd isn't going on here.
On their own terms, the questions the reporter asked of the Saudi prince are important ones. Yet it's shocking and very sad that he was willing to whitewash a moonbat like Paul, and pretty much contradicted his own argument considering Iran's a horrific lot themselves.

THIS IS THE PASSION THAT FUELED THE TEA PARTY AND THE TAKE OVER OF THE HOUSE.
IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST THAT MUCH TO DEFEAT OBAMA AND TAKE OVER THE SENATE.
Republican Jon Huntsman today refused to rule out running as an independent candidate for president should he fail in his quest for his party’s 2012 nomination.
Asked, “Is there any situation in which you would run for president as an independent?” Huntsman told The Boston Globe, “I don’t think so.”...The New York Times has reported that his father, Jon Huntsman Sr., already is among a group of wealthy backers helping finance a six-figure ad campaign that promotes Jon Huntsman’s candidacy but is not directly paid for by his political campaign.
The “Our Destiny PAC” is one of a number of so-called super PACs that have cropped up this campaign. They can advocate for a candidate so long as they don’t coordinate with his campaign. They also face more lax reporting requirements and have no fund-raising limits.
They also are not connected to any particular party apparatus.

BOSKIN: SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMS CAUSED THE EUROPEAN DEBT CRISIS; THE EURO MASKED IT FOR A WHILE AND THEREFORE EXACERBATED IT
The debt crisis in Europe has highlighted how Greece, Italy, and many other countries have obscured the long-standing problems in their bloated public sectors and their unsustainable social-welfare benefits.
European governments have promised too much, to too many, for too long. This fundamental problem has now manifested itself in these countries' unsustainable debt dynamics. Euro membership, which temporarily enabled massive borrowing at low interest rates, has merely aggravated this. For many of these countries, meaningful reform has now become unavoidable.... Reforming social-welfare benefits is the only permanent solution to Europe's crisis as there are now too many people collecting benefits relative to those working and paying taxes.

Spurred by aggressive promotions from retailers, American consumers opened their wallets over the holiday weekend in a way they had not since before the recession, setting records in sales and traffic.
The National Retail Federation said Sunday that spending per shopper surged 9.1 percent over last year — the biggest increase since 2006 — to an average of almost $400 a customer. In all, 6.6 percent more shoppers visited stores on the Thanksgiving weekend than last year.
“American consumers have been taking a deep breath and making a decision that it’s O.K. to go shopping again,” despite the high unemployment rate and other signs of caution, said Ellen Davis, vice president at the National Retail Federation.
Numbers from ShopperTrak, a consumer research service, showed equally strong results, with in-store sales on Friday rising by 6.6 percent over last year’s Thanksgiving Friday to $11.4 billion.
Yet there were signs the gains might not last. Analysts said that traffic to stores seemed to slow through the weekend, suggesting that the big start to the holiday season might peter out over time.
