MIND-BOGGLING STUPIDITY

Proof positive from this November 16, 2013 article in the Washington Post:
...[A former Democratic Party Chairperson has stated that] she thinks HealthCare.gov will be functioning well by the Nov. 30 deadline because that’s what the president said....
This statement was apparently made after Obama's announcement last Thursday.  The words denial of reality don't begin to cover this absurd statement.

Read the article for more details.

The Cult of Obama continues on.

THE LAMESTREAM MEDIA'S CONSTANT GUSHING OVER BHO

Today, the Washington Post offered this front-page puff piece, presented as historical analysis. The following paragraph appeared above the fold:
President Obama will bring his notably calmer, cooler demeanor to the Vineyard when he arrives Aug. 23 for a family vacation....
The WaPo couldn't resist adding this barb, also on the front page:
The president who preaches bipartisanship has chosen to stay at the private estate of a prominent Republican....
According to the article, BHO is paying for the vacation himself - at least $25,000 to rent the estate, then goes on to gush about how wonderful it is that BHO is paying for his own vacation:
Obama's public vow to pay his family's portion of the rent on Martha's Vineyard is unusual, several historians said.
If BHO were the family man he claims to be, he'd give the $25,000 to one of his poverty-stricken relatives. No mention of any of those relatives in the WaPo, of course. Mustn't put "The One" in a less-than-perfect light. **snerk**

MORE ORDERS FROM BHO

Speaking on national health care, BHO orders, "It's time for us to buck up":

And all the people in the background nod and say, "Amen!"

Sheesh!

DANGEROUS THINKING

From this letter to the editor of the Washington Post:
It is now up to us -- the people who voted for him -- to show massive support. It is up to us to put pressure on our senators and representatives to pass this budget.

If this budget fails, then it is we who have failed, not Mr. Obama.
Read the entire letter here.

Now consider the following information excerpted from the book Captive Hearts, Captive Minds by Madeleine Landau Tobias and Janja Lalich:
In cults and abusive relationships, those in a subordinate position usually come to accept the abuse as their fault, believing that they deserve the foul treatment or that it is for their own good. They sometimes persist in believing that they are bad rather than considering that the person upon whom they are so dependent is cruel, untrustworthy, and unreliable. It is simply too frightening for them to do that: it threatens the balance of power and means risking total rejection, loss, and perhaps even death of self or loved ones.

This explains why an abused cult follower may become disenchanted with the relationship or the group yet continue to believe in the teachings, goodness, and power of the leader.

Let's go back to a year ago.

Video made before the November 4 election:

CNN video, February 15, 2008:

The signs of The Obama Cult were present. Like all cult followers, those caught up in the momentum of the cult did not see the danger signs — nor do BHO's followers and defenders see the danger signs now, as evidenced by the letter to the editor cited at the beginning of this post. How does one reason with these people?

ASKING FOR A HANDOUT

Even before the stimulus bill was signed into law, Virginia Governor Michael Kaine, devotee of BHO, was getting quite the avalanche of requests. Check out these two examples from today's Washington Post:
Eric Blow, a Fairfax County software development manager, asked for $50,000 so his wife could turn her fledgling cake-decorating business into a bakery. Ron Houser, a state investigator from south of Culpeper, asked for $50,000 to help send his oldest son to college. "His mother and I can contribute the remaining $13,200," Houser wrote.
And another:
Tony Barrix Jr., who lives in the Shenandoah Valley community of Bridgewater, asked for $2,000 to pay off a high-interest loan he took out using his car title as security. He offered this in the Project Description field online: "I just went and paid $380.00 for one month and not a penny went towards my 1500.00 loan. ive had the loan now for over a year and cannot get it paid off. If i get behind on my payment they are going to take the only way i can support my family. Please help me pay off this loan before we lose everything. Thanks soo much Tony Barrix Jr".
And perhaps the most absurd request of all given in the WaPo article:
On the day Kaine's effort was announced, a Fairfax man submitted two proposals totaling $5,000.

"I am seeking $1,000 to put hardwood floors in my house," read the first. It would cover 400 square feet, create one job and benefit the flooring company, he wrote. He also wants to improve his yard. "This project has been designed and is literally 'shovel' ready. I have selected a landscaping firm that needs the business but I just need the money."
"I just need the money"?

WHAT?

Hell, I need the money too, but I don't expect the stimulus bill to put a new roof on my house or to pay my heating bills and health insurance premiums.

But I see that some people (Were they always nuts or just got that way because of Obamamania?) actually seem to think that they deserve money for free — for whatever profligacy, luxury, or debt payment.

BHO, with all the campaign yapping of his, as well as with his statements as President, has actually led to people believing and nearly demanding that the government should take care of them — from cradle to grave.

I never thought that I'd live long enough to see Virginians swallow Marxism like this.

Now, how many other Americans out there are as deluded as the saps cited in the Washington Post article?

FOR OBAMA'S SUPPORTERS, ONCE IS NOT ENOUGH

Excerpt from this article in the local section of the January 24, 2009 edition of the Washington Post:
Shut-Out Ticket Holders Plan Inauguration Replay

Barack Obama got a do over of his oath of office. Now, a campaign staff member who was shut out of the original ceremony is planning a do over of his own.

Gabe Cohen, 29, who spent 20 months campaigning, has sent notice to friends and Obama supporters that he will lead a swearing-in viewing event near the U.S. Capitol today at noon. They will watch on laptops and listen on iPods, he said....
Obama supporters are cultists, basking in the light of "The One." Our Founders are turning in their graves.
