CAN WE GOVERN OURSELVES?

The most recent immigration bill to pass the United States Senate is 1198 pages long in PDF fomat.

1198 pages!

HERE are the hot-linked subtitles for various sections of the immigration bill S.744.ES. You have to see that list to believe it!

This is what we're paying our elected public servants to do? See their salaries HERE.

Congress Critters today make famous sufferers of hypergraphia pale in comparison.

MIND-BOGGLING STUPIDITY

Proof positive from this November 16, 2013 article in the Washington Post:
...[A former Democratic Party Chairperson has stated that] she thinks HealthCare.gov will be functioning well by the Nov. 30 deadline because that’s what the president said....
This statement was apparently made after Obama's announcement last Thursday.  The words denial of reality don't begin to cover this absurd statement.

Read the article for more details.

DETROIT: PROGRESSIVE "DREAM" REALIZED

Asylum Watch has an excellent comprehensive post on the plight of Detroit. Money quote from that post:
Detroit said Friday [June 14, 203] it would stop making payments on about $2.5 billion in unsecured debt and ask creditors to take about 10 cents on the dollar of what the city owes them in a move to avoid what bankruptcy experts have said would be the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history.
Detroit used to be a city and region to which people went to fulfill the American dream. No more!

The same kind of thing may be in progress in California: San Bernardino, Stockton, and, possibly, Los Angeles.

Democratic Party control of a city or region is economic disaster — time and time again.

THE WRITING ON THE WALL FOR NOVEMBER 2010

From U.S. News and World Report:
...Historically, presidents with approval ratings below 50 percent—Obama is at 45—lose an average of 41 House seats in midterm elections. This year, that would return the House of Representatives to Republican control. The Democrats will suffer disproportionately from a climate in which so many Americans are either dissatisfied or angry with the government, for Democrats are in the large majority in both houses and have to defend many more districts than Republicans. In any election year, voters' feelings typically settle in by June. But now they are being further hardened by the loose regulation that preceded the poisonous oil spill—and the tardy government response.

[...]

It is clear that the magical moment of Obama's campaign conveyed a spell that is now broken in the context of the growing public disillusionment. Obama's rise has been spectacular, but so too has been his fall.
How will Obama react to the coming meltdown of the Democratic Party's power?

Definitions of Democrats and ‘Change’ Offered

Today, Doug Ross shares what is perhaps the best one-two punch I’ve seen in quite a while, combining a photograph with a quote pulled from an article at National Review Online. For some good reading and a great visual, click here.
