Art major Aliza Shvarts ’08 wants to make a statement.

Beginning next Tuesday, Shvarts will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself “as often as possible” while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings of these forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of the blood from the process.

...The “fabricators,” or donors, of the sperm were not paid for their services, but Shvarts required them to periodically take tests for sexually transmitted diseases. She said she was not concerned about any medical effects the forced miscarriages may have had on her body. The abortifacient drugs she took were legal and herbal, she said, and she did not feel the need to consult a doctor about her repeated miscarriages.

Shvarts declined to specify the number of sperm donors she used, as well as the number of times she inseminated herself.

... “I believe strongly that art should be a medium for politics and ideologies, not just a commodity,” Shvarts said. “I think that I’m creating a project that lives up to the standard of what art is supposed to be.”

The display of Schvarts’ project will feature a large cube suspended from the ceiling of a room in the gallery of Green Hall. Schvarts will wrap hundreds of feet of plastic sheeting around this cube; lined between layers of the sheeting will be the blood from Schvarts’ self-induced miscarriages mixed with Vaseline in order to prevent the blood from drying and to extend the blood throughout the plastic sheeting.

What has been commoditized by this inhumane, disgusting and immoral act is the fetus - the nascent human life.

What do both of these pieces have in common: they're Gramscian attacks on traditional Judeo-Christian culture and Western Civilization. Traditional families and religion are the foundational structures of Western Civilization. They get in the way of the socialist revolution.

The MSM and the Academy attack these structures constantly, brainwashing people into feeling that the West was always bad, and families and religion the sources of alienation and oppression.

The Left - according to the Gramscian agenda they've been employing for decades - attacks these traditional structures of culture in order to demolish them and replace them with the socialist state.

These two articles - selected by the gay left-wing editor of the NYTIMES MAGAZINE, in keeping with the basic editorial outlook of the NYTIMES - push that agenda. First by propagandizing about sharia, telling their readers that they have nothing to fear, that sharia is not as bad as the JOOOOOZE and NEOCONS say. Second by trying to get their readers to accept transgenderists as normal and in need of mainstreaming.

What makes it INSANE is that, in one article, the sharia they soft-peddle and want you to appease would punish by death the homosexuality and "transgenderness" of the second article.

It's beyond hypocritical; it's schizoid.

It's the Left. The folks who control the Democrat Party.

Vote accordingly.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE DEMS THAT MAKES THEM WANT TO HAVE "DO-OVERS" ALL THE TIME!?

The Dems mostly voted FOR the Iraq War in 2002.

But when it got tough in 2004 and went sour in 2005-7 they all said they were really against it. It was BUSH'S WAR.

And some of their leading stars said they'd wished they voted against it and/or were hoodwinked by Bush.

BOTTOM-LINE: they wanted a do-over.

They wanted a DO-OVER in Florida in 2000.

They wanted a DO-OVER in Ohio in 2004.

Now, many of them want a do-over in Michigan and Florida.

I think the Dems are like this because they are fundamentally like CHILDREN - most postmodern leftists are.

When they lose they want to re-write the rules to suit them. And they claim they are entitled because as losers... they're victims.

Victimized by Bush or Diebold, or arcane party rules, blah-blah-blah.

You now what all this really is a symptom of? Democrat childishness.

Some say that the GOP is the daddy party and the Dems the mommy party.

I think that's no longer operative.

I think the GOP is the ADULT party and the Democrat Party is for adolescents, at best. (Many of them are teens who are still in diapers - figuratively speaking!)

There are no "do-overs" in real life. When things get tough, adults bear down and get tougher.

2008 will pit an adult - McCain - against one of two children: Hillary or Obama. Each of whom wants the federal government to play nanny.

If you think you can take care of yourself, mostly, and if you want the government run by people who believe most people can and should, then you must vote GOP and McCain.

Either that or vote Democrat and demand your pacifier. And a do-over whenever things get tough.

By more than a two-to-one vote, members of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh voted Friday in favor of separating from the national church because of a theological rift that began with the consecration of an openly gay bishop in 2003.

The vote sets the stage for what could become a protracted legal battle between the diocese and the Episcopal Church U.S.A., which had warned Pittsburgh’s bishop not to go forward with the vote.

After passionate appeals from both sides of the debate, clergy members and lay people voted 227 to 82 to “realign” the conservative diocese.

If Friday’s vote is approved again in a year, the diocese will begin steps to remove itself from the American church and join with another province in the worldwide Anglican Communion.

After the vote, Bishop Robert W. Duncan of Pittsburgh, who is also moderator of the Anglican Communion Network, an alliance of conservative dioceses and parishes, defended the decision.

“What we’re trying to do is state clearly in the United States for the authority of Scripture,” Bishop Duncan said after the vote, taken during the diocese’s annual convention in this city about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh.

The vote was necessary, he said, because the more liberal bishops now in the majority in the national church “have hijacked my church, and that’s how most of the people here feel.”

Consider this extract from a report in The Times (London, 23/10/07):

Hansel and Gretel

Peter Voisey, 35, was convicted…of the abduction and rape of a six year old girl whom he had snatched from the bath at her home in Willington Quay on Tyneside.

He then drove around the area and repeatedly sexually abused her. She was later dumped naked and screaming in an alleyway.

Voisey was jailed for life last December and told that he must serve a minimum of ten years before being considered for release.

He was already on the sex offenders register having been convicted of an earlier assault on a child.

Surely we should ask ourselves, “Why is this thing actually still alive, and why may he be free to re-offend, again, in as little as ten years time; are we suffering from some form of reality dysfunction?”

I submit that when any culture has reached such a moral nadir that it permits the serial predation of its children, it is unlikely to be willing or able to prevent itself becoming prey. Simply put, it is looking over the precipice of extinction.

I further submit that this grotesque parody of an ethos, this righteous self-delusion in the name of postmodernity, has not come about by accident. It is the result of a sustained, considered campaign of reverse social engineering perpetrated by a coalition of determined ideological aggressors. Their name is ‘The Deconstructionists’, and their Movement is ‘Deconstructionism’.

Postmodernity is a word derived from the neologism Postmodern, and is applied to the non-artistic, predominantly political aspects of that nihilist philosophy. Its bastard child is Deconstructionism, the function of which is to destabilise the existing State by slowly eroding and eventually curetting its core concepts. It can destroy a civilisation within a very short period of time.

A PARLIAMENT OF CLOCKS

Once in a while, you read a blog posting that is so good you find yourself both elated to have read it and depressed that you didn't write it. I found such a post today from Shannon Love who blogs at a great site, Chicago Boyz. Here's a sample:

I think an old parable explains why the professional subcultures of articulate intellectuals, such as academics in the humanities, artists and journalists, all experience such enormous pressures to conform to the same viewpoint.

In the parable, a king wants to buy some clocks and travels to the Bavarian village were the ten best clockmakers in the world keep their shops all along one street.

As he enters the street all the clocks in all the shops strike 1 o’clock in one massive group chime. The king marvels at the great accuracy of the clockmakers of the village, but a few moments later he hears another group chime. After investigating he finds that all the clocks in 9 of the 10 shops show the same time but that all the clocks in the 10th shop show a different time by several minutes. Puzzled, the kingcalls all the clockmakers together and ask why the clocks in the 10th shop do not chime at the same time as all the clocks in all the other shops.

The owner of the odd shop out immediately steps forward and says that due to his unusual skill and innovation his clocks keep more accurate time than the clocks of the other shops. The other shop owners protest loudly. The king is at a loss. The town lacks a master town clock or sundial, so he has no means of determining which clocks keep the best time. Confused, he decides not to buy any clocks and leaves town. Angered, the owners of the 9 agreeing shops burn down the shop of the odd man out to prevent such confusion from arising again. Now when someone comes to town, all the clocks will chime at the same instant. Customers will not become confused and everyone will sell more clocks.

The clockmakers destroy the nonconforming clockmaker among them because they know that as a practical matter we judge the accuracy of clocks by consensus. Absolute time does not exist. Essentially, a parliament of clocks votes on the correct time. (Even scientifically, this is true.) By fiat, we say that the clocks that deviate from the consensus time are inaccurate, but logically that need not be so. Different technologies or different levels of care in setting, winding or servicing the clocks could lead to the minority clocks being more accurate. However, if all the clocks agree, then no lay person will have grounds for suspecting that the majority clocks don’t keep accurate time.

GRAMSCI EFFECT: SILENCING MUSLIM MODERATES

The Gramsci Effect is in full force at PBS. Everyone's favorite tax-dollar funded broadcasting corporation is all set to run an 11-part series on America in the post-9/11 era. Called America at a Crossroads, the documentary spends a lot of time looking at the clash between Western civilization and Muslim fundamentalists, however, some of the producers are concerned with segments that deal with "moderate Muslims."

If Dr. Zuhdi Jasser of Phoenix were a Christian - and he emphatically is not - we might deem him a saint.

But Jasser is a Muslim. He believes in his religion as fervently as any Catholic bishop believes in his. Or any Muslim imam, for that matter. He is faithful to the Quran, which Jasser believes conveys a message of peace.

Because of his faith, and because of what he has done to act on his faith, Jasser has evolved into an extraordinary symbol of what true heroism means in the post-Sept. 11 world. He is a Muslim and an American. And he is a man of peace - a rare, bold iconoclast who is willing to speak out against people who, he believes, have stolen his faith for evil ends.

So, is Zuhdi Jasser what you might call a "moderate" Muslim? If you do, then the Public Broadcasting Service has a problem with you.

As the PBS producers affirmed time and again in their letters and e-mails, who is an Islamic "extremist" and who is a "moderate" depends entirely on which side of the street you're standing. In large part, it is about "context."

"We felt the program was flawed by incomplete storytelling and problems with fairness," said Jeff Bieber, executive producer of the Crossroads series. "We felt the writing was alarmist and without adequate context."

And there you have it. Gramsci's legacy in a nutshell. There is not good and bad, no right and wrong...it's all a matter of perspective. However, Bieber then slips on his own rhetoric.

"We just felt there was incomplete context, (that) could lead viewers to the wrong conclusions."

The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee is questioning whether the CIA's secret prison program -- which he fears has become a black eye to the United States -- should continue. ... Rockefeller says there is no doubt that intelligence from detainees has been valuable. Yet he says he wonders whether the CIA needed to create a system outside of long-standing FBI and military interrogation programs.

Rockefeller's spokeswoman, Wendy Morigi, said he has not been convinced that the CIA prisons produce better intelligence than the FBI and military systems.

''The real question is whether the administration's decision to pursue an alternate system (at the CIA) was the right approach,'' Rockefeller said in a statement Friday.

President Bush said he emptied the CIA's secret prisons in September and sent its last 14 high-value detainees to the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. But he left open the possibility that the program could be used again. ... Rockefeller has promised to conduct more vigorous oversight of the spy agencies than did his Republican predecessor. He is asking whether having a separate CIA detention and interrogation system is necessary and worth the toll on the U.S. image abroad.

''The widespread reports about secret prisons and torture, whether accurate or not, have damaged the United States' reputation around the world and hindered counterterrorism efforts with our allies,'' he said.

Human rights groups have argued for years that the CIA's detention and interrogation techniques amount to torture. The International Committee of the Red Cross is the only independent watchdog to interview the 14 detainees who were held by the CIA.

In a confidential report that has not been publicly distributed, the Red Cross said the 14 prisoners described highly abusive interrogation methods, especially when techniques such sleep deprivation and forced standing were used in combination. None of the detainees' accounts has been verified. ...

U.S. officials long have said the CIA program is for the most dangerous detainees and the CIA says its officers do not torture.
