BANNED BY PBS: MUSLIMS AGAINST JIHAD--A REVIEW

"Muslims Against Jihad" didn't air on Saturday like it was originally supposed to because of the late breaking news on the Jessie Davis case. Instead, Fox News aired it Sunday night. It was extremely well done and very eye-opening.

The question is often asked, "Why don't moderate Muslims speak out more against radical Muslim extremists?" The documentary shows the reasons why, many of them are terrified and afraid to speak out because of what might happen to them. It showed many Muslims in Europe, especially Denmark, who would try to break away from Islamic extremism only to live in fear for their lives.

The Koran states: First of all guidance, advice, and admonition, then, banishment from the bed and then 'beat them'. When the Koran presented this verse, it did not present it for all cases, but for one case out of all ways of female behavior-the case of disobedience.

The above quote was taken directly from a clip that they showed that aired on an Islamic channel that Europeans were able to access from the Middle East. Basically, it says men don't beat your wife in all cases of bad behavior, only when she disobeys. The whole concept makes me shudder to think about how oppressive it would be to live in a extremist Muslim home.

One of the things I have never understood about U.S. feminists is why they aren't speaking out more about how atrociously women are treated in the Middle East and other countries. The documentary showed how women who flee arranged marriages or who try to flee abusive relationships are often at risk of losing their lives.

Islamic Honor Killings

Islamic Honor killings are where the men in the family, whether it be a father, brother or Uncle are ordered to kill a female relative for a transgression that she has committed. One Pakistani man who lived in Denmark was ordered by his father to kill his sister. Why? Because she wanted to divorce her husband. He refused to do it so his father sent men to try and kill him also. The man said that Islamic honor killings aren't necessarily taught, it is just an unwritten rule in the culture. In Denmark there are crisis centers set up for Muslim women who are fleeing abusive treatment and/or arranged marriages.

Even though there is fear for their lives, more and more women and men are leaving the extremism and speaking out. One such man, Abdel Malik who lives in France was recruited into an extremist group that turned out to be actively involved in terrorism. At first they had him luring in others and then they actually wanted him to commit an act of terrorism. He refused to do it. Instead, he was just starting a rap singing career and after 9/11 he began speaking out against the extremism in his music.

Throughout the airing of the documentary E.D. Hill was talking to producer and director Martyn Burke, and Executive Producer Frank Gaffney. They both talked about the blatant liberal bias at PBS. Early on Martyn Burke was told by PBS to fire Frank Gaffney and another partner because they were conservatives. They asked Burke, Don't you check into the political backgrounds of the people you work with? Burke said he didn't and he refused to fire them. PBS fought them all along the way and when this documentary along with its companion film, Islam vs. Islamists was done they complained that they were alarmist. They showed them to an extremist Muslim group and of course they didn't like them.

As a result, PBS refused to air "Muslims against Jihad" and its companion piece "Islam vs. Islamists" will only be available through Oregon Public Broadcasting. If you live in Oregon check it out, and hopefully Fox News will re-air Muslims Against Jihad if you missed it. It is well worth your time.

BANNED BY PBS: MUSLIMS AGAINST JIHAD

PBS refused to air a documentary entitled, Muslims Against Jihad so Fox News picked it up. It will air tonight on the FNC at 9:00 pm ET. It will be repeated at 3 am the next morning. It is hosted by E.D. Hill. Here is a brief description of it by Fox News:

Tune in this weekend, as FOX News Channel presents the documentary the Public Broadcasting System didn't want you to see.

It's a film about the difference between moderate Muslims and the radicals who want to kill us. It asks where are the moderate Muslims and why aren't they speaking out against the jihadists? And it was financed with $675,000 of taxpayers' money.

It was commissioned as part of the PBS series "America at the Crossroads" about the post 9/11 world, but PBS executives rejected it.

PBS claims the filmmakers were "alarmist, overreaching and unfair."

The filmmakers say they were censored because of liberal bias at PBS.

BILL MOYERS' BS TO AIR ON PBS

Guess what your tax payer dollars are paying for? Bill Moyers to have supposedly "objective" documentaries on PBS. After a 2 year absence Moyers (who can't get hired by anyone else) is taking our tax money to air a propaganda, hit piece on Fox News and Conservative talk show hosts entitled, BUYING THE WAR tonight.

Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity both talked about it on their shows last night. Bill O'Reilly especially showed that Moyers has some serious problems telling the truth. A Fox News producer questioned Moyers about things he has said and Moyers denied it all. O'Reilly then played the tapes of the interviews where Moyers said exactly what the producer asked him about. Moyers has been repeatedly asked to come on O'Reilly's show and he refuses to do so.

The documentary to air tonight is filled with propaganda aimed at doing nothing more than trashing people that he disagrees with ideologically. Bill Moyers is a left wing whacko and I resent the fact that PBS is paying him to do hit pieces on his enemies. Yet another reason our hard earned tax money shouldn't go to fund anything done by PBS.

GRAMSCI EFFECT: SILENCING MUSLIM MODERATES

The Gramsci Effect is in full force at PBS. Everyone's favorite tax-dollar funded broadcasting corporation is all set to run an 11-part series on America in the post-9/11 era. Called America at a Crossroads, the documentary spends a lot of time looking at the clash between Western civilization and Muslim fundamentalists, however, some of the producers are concerned with segments that deal with "moderate Muslims."

If Dr. Zuhdi Jasser of Phoenix were a Christian - and he emphatically is not - we might deem him a saint.

But Jasser is a Muslim. He believes in his religion as fervently as any Catholic bishop believes in his. Or any Muslim imam, for that matter. He is faithful to the Quran, which Jasser believes conveys a message of peace.

Because of his faith, and because of what he has done to act on his faith, Jasser has evolved into an extraordinary symbol of what true heroism means in the post-Sept. 11 world. He is a Muslim and an American. And he is a man of peace - a rare, bold iconoclast who is willing to speak out against people who, he believes, have stolen his faith for evil ends.

So, is Zuhdi Jasser what you might call a "moderate" Muslim? If you do, then the Public Broadcasting Service has a problem with you.

As the PBS producers affirmed time and again in their letters and e-mails, who is an Islamic "extremist" and who is a "moderate" depends entirely on which side of the street you're standing. In large part, it is about "context."

"We felt the program was flawed by incomplete storytelling and problems with fairness," said Jeff Bieber, executive producer of the Crossroads series. "We felt the writing was alarmist and without adequate context."

And there you have it. Gramsci's legacy in a nutshell. There is not good and bad, no right and wrong...it's all a matter of perspective. However, Bieber then slips on his own rhetoric.

"We just felt there was incomplete context, (that) could lead viewers to the wrong conclusions."

Hold on! "The wrong conclusions?" Maybe it's not that these PBS producers are practicing postmodernists, maybe it's that they've chosen a side and are doing what they can to protect them. Can you guess who I'm talking about?
