OBAMA'S SPEECH AT WEST POINT SHOWCASES HIS FOREIGN POLICY FAILURES

I WATCHED THE SPEECH.

EVEN CNN'S CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR SAID AFTERWORDS IT WAS A WEAK SPEECH BY A PRESIDENT WHOSE FOREIGN POLICIES AND USE OF MILITARY FORCE HAS BEEN AWFUL.

OBAMA'S ONLY WIN HAS BEEN BURMA.

AS EXAMPLES OF THE SUCCESS OF HIS PIVOT TO MULTILATERALISM AND AWAY FROM MILITARY CONFRONTATION, OBAMA CITED TWO THINGS: UKRAINE AND IRAN:

Now, there are lot of folks, a lot of skeptics who often downplay the effectiveness of multilateral action. For them, working through international institutions, like the U.N. or respecting international law, is a sign of weakness. I think they’re wrong. Let me offer just two examples why. 

In Ukraine, Russia’s recent actions recall the days when Soviet tanks rolled into Eastern Europe. But this isn’t the Cold War. Our ability to shape world opinion helped isolate Russia right away. 

Because of American leadership, the world immediately condemned Russian actions, Europe and the G-7 joined with us to impose sanctions, NATO reinforced our commitment to Eastern European allies, the I.M.F. is helping to stabilize Ukraine’s economy, O.S.C.E. monitors brought the eyes of the world to unstable parts of Ukraine. 

And this mobilization of world opinion and international institutions served as a counterweight to Russian propaganda and Russian troops on the border and armed militias in ski masks. 

This weekend, Ukrainians voted by the millions. Yesterday, I spoke to their next president. We don’t know how the situation will play out, and there will remain grave challenges ahead, but standing with our allies on behalf of international order, working with international institutions, has given a chance for the Ukrainian people to choose their future — without us firing a shot. 

Similarly, despite frequent warnings from the United States and Israel and others, the Iranian nuclear program steadily advanced for years. But at the beginning of my presidency, we built a coalition that imposed sanctions on the Iranian economy, while extending the hand of diplomacy to the Iranian government. And now we have an opportunity to resolve our differences peacefully. 

The odds of success are still long, and we reserve all options to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. But for the first time in a decade, we have a very real chance of achieving a breakthrough agreement, one that is more effective and durable than what we could have achieved through the use of force. 

And throughout these negotiations, it has been our willingness to work through multilateral channels that kept the world on our side. 

The point is, this is American leadership. This is American strength. 

In each case, we built coalitions to respond to a specific challenge. Now we need to do more to strengthen the institutions that can anticipate and prevent problems from spreading.

ANS THEY ARE WINNING BECAUSE OBAMA'S POLICIES ARE FAILING!

THE ONLY WAY IN WHICH OBAMA;S POLICIES MIGHT BE SAID TO BE A SUCCESS IS IF THEY WERE DESIGNED TO HELP OUR ENEMIES.
THE OVERTHROW OF MUBARAK HAS BEEN A DISASTER; WE HAVE LOST EGYPT AND IT MIGHT BE PICKED UP BY PUTIN.

THE OVERTHROW OF KADDAFY HAS BEEN A DISASTER; LIBYA IS A MESS, WEAPONS WE GAVE TO KADDAFY'S OPPONENTS HAVE GOTTEN INTO THE HANDS OF BOKO HARAM AND OTHER TERRORISTS. KADDAFY WAS A POS, BUT AT THE TIME OBAMA TOOK HIM OUT, KADDAFFY WAS HELPING US ATTACK AL QAEDA.

THE FAILURE TO ENFORCE HIS OWN "RED-LINE" IN SYRIA HAS EXPOSED OBAMA AS A COWARD AND A KNAVE AND EMPOWERED ALL OUR ENEMIES - ESPECIALLY IRAN AND PUTIN.

NIGERIA AND AFRICA ARE LOSING GROUND TO JIHADISTS.

THAILAND IS DEVOLVING INTO A MILITARY JUNTA.

CHINA IS INCREASINGLY ADVENTURESOME AND TESTING US AND OUR ALLIES IN THE REGION.

AND THE MIDDLE EAST PEACE PROCESS IS DEAD; ALL OBAMA HAS ACCOMPLISHED THERE IS ALIENATING ISRAEL.

THEN TO TOP IT OFF, OBAMA TRIED A LITTLE SLEIGHT OF HAND - A LITTLE MESMERIZATION:

OBAMA CLAIMED THAT HE BELIEVED IN AMERCIAN EXCEPTIONALISM.

I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being. But what makes us exceptional is not our ability to flout international norms and the rule of law; it is our willingness to affirm them through our actions.

SURE: IN OTHER WORDS, IF AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM WERE REDEFINED TO MEAN BEING SUBORDINATED TO THE UN AND ICC, THEN HE'S ALL FOR IT!

THE STRAW MAN:

A straw man argument is an informal fallacybased on misrepresentation of an opponent's position.^[1] To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by substituting a superficially similar proposition (the "straw man"), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position.^[1][2]

OBAMA USES THIS OLD JEDI MINDTRICK ALL THE TIME.

IN SHORT:

OBAMA'S FOREIGN POLICY HAS BEEN A DISASTER.

IF OBAMA HAD A SHRED OF DECENCY OR PATRIOTISM, THEN HE'D RESIGN.

BUT OBAMA IS NEITHER A DECENT OR PATRIOTIC MAN.
