USNWR: "Brown vs. Coakley Shows Obama Has Become a Political Albatross"

Coakley’s missteps, astonishing though they are, are really a sideshow to the larger issue of the effect Obama’s declining poll numbers have on Democratic candidates. When in a short three-month period Republicans win in New Jersey and are in a position to win in Massachusetts that translates into an environment absolutely poisonous for Democrats.

...For Democrats locked in tough election battles–including Arkansas’ Blanche Lincoln, Michael Bennet in Colorado, Maryland freshman Democratic Rep. Frank Kratovil, the race for the open Ohio Senate seat–Tuesday’s results are essentially both anti-climatic and unimportant. They’ve seen their 2010 electoral environment–and it ain’t pretty.

IN ONE SHORT YEAR, OBAMA HAS BECOME AN ALBATROSS - AND IT WAS HIS OWN DOING:

• HE RAN AS A MODERATE BUT GOVERNED AS A RADICAL LEFTIST.

• HE RAN AS POST-PARTISAN BUT WAS VERY PARTISAN.

• HE SAID HIS ADMINISTRATION WOULD BE OPEN AND TRANSPARENT BUT IT'S BEEN SECRETIVE AND DONE MORE BACKROOM DEALING THAN ANY ADMINISTRATION IN RECENT MEMORY.

• HE SAID HE WOULD NOT RAISE TAXES OR MAKE YOU CHANGE YOUR HEALTH-PLAN, BUT HE'S DOING BOTH.

• AMERICANS THINK THE ECONOMY IS JOB ONE, NOT HEALTHCARE.
• AMERICANS WANT THE POTUS TO LEAD, AND NOT LET CONGRESS CALL THE SHOTS.

• ABOUT HE LOST THE OLYMPICS AND CLIMATE CHANGE; HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING WITH GITMO OR DADT.
  

AND SO ON.

IN SHORT: HE'S BEEN A COLOSSAL FAILURE.

AND AMERICAN VOTERS DON'T VOTE FOR LOSERS.

AND OBAMA IS A LOSER. AN ALBATROSS.
