However, the judge did throw one wrinkle into the mix:

It appears they may be in the US illegally, and managed to get a visa to enter originally by using Rifqa eye injury, something I hadn't fully taken notice of before, to get treatment but overstayed their visa. So there may be more here than meets the eye, and another thing: if they're in the US illegally, it means they were making money off of people in the jewelry business without the proper license.
Update: here's more from Atlas Shrugs on the court hearing. You know, I suppose I will have to give the judge some credit here for understanding the importance of the issues regarding the missing legal documents. And just look at how the parents' lawyer, Shaytan Elahi, popped his cork and was pretty irrational/absurd in his accusations against the defense team.
