A 24-year-old Afghan immigrant has been convicted of murdering his 16-year-old sister in a so-called “honour killing“ in Germany.
A Hamburg state court convicted Ahmad Obeidi today and sentenced him to life in prison for stabbing his sister, Morsal Obeidi, to death in a parking lot in the city last year.
Obeidi admitted to the killing.
He says he believed his sister had brought dishonour to his family.
He told the court he had seen her with many male friends at the train station and thought she might be working as a prostitute.
