Condi Rice was even more involved: according to news reports quoted at Jawa, "Condoleezza Rice, the US secretary of state, had personally negotiated the text at UN headquarters in New York with her counterparts from Britain and France, David Miliband and Bernard Kouchner."
Quite a team. Reminds me of this previous team of diplomats, who worked hard to secure peace in their time (1938):
