MCCAIN-PALIN: WHAT THE CHOICE REVEALS ABOUT THE CHOOSER

As I hinted in my post, below, I think that one of the things about the choice of Governor Palin that has so energized the conservative Republican base, is that it clearly shows that Senator McCain is in fine form. As Karl Rove said, "This is John McCain at his most John McCainish."

Senator McCain chose a solidly conservative Governor from a solidly conservative state, where the eternal values are still valued.

He affirmed and underscored his pro-life position, drawing a stark contrast to Senator Obama's vote in favor of infanticide at will.

He enhanced the Republican position on energy. He affirmed support for those God-given rights which are guaranteed by the Constitution.

And he shows his confidence in his judgment. The punditocracy and the commentariat are not after all the nastiest critics he has faced up to and faced down.

In contrast, what does the choice of Senator Biden reveal about Senator Obama? He selected a man who has been resoundingly rejected by the national Democrat Party electorate time and time again. A man whose political experience is solely in the Senate, an elite debating club designed by the Founders to thwart action in dilatory discussions. A man with zero charisma.

Flop sweat was already all over Senator Obama during his vaunted acceptance speech in Denver. It was nothing but the usual Democrat platitudes (and as Christopher says "already forgotten about since it was the same old wind we've been hearing for years from the Democrats and nothing with them ever works") and his delivery was rushed, monotonic, and uninspiring to any who haven't already drunk the Obama Koolaid.

But now, since Zogby already shows Senator McCain ahead, you'll really see the Democrats in full panic mode next week.
