On June 6, 1944, 64 years ago, as the liberation of Western Europe got under way on "D-Day" on the beaches of Normandy, the President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, made this radio broadcast, asking the American people to join him -- in prayer:
His words are just as meaningful and relevant today as they were then.
For we require today the same continuance of prayer that President Roosevelt sought on that June day.
Yet what would be the responses of today's media pundits and panjandrums to a similar appeal?

WHAT DID THE ACLU THINK?
THEY THOUGHT IT WAS TOLERABLE THEN BECAUSE WE WERE ALLIES OF THE USSR.
BUT SINCE TEN, THE LEFT HAS OPPOSED US MILITARY INTERVENTION.
AND PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER.
TO ONCE AGAIN HAVE PRESIDENTS WHO CAN SAY THESE PRAYERS, WE MUST DEFEAT THE LEFT.
