According to this buried item in the October 27, 2007 edition of the Washington Post, a newspaper which would never use the term hudna, let alone explain its meaning:
Radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr could end a ban on his militia's activities because of rising anger over U.S. and Iraqi raids against his followers, an aide said Friday amid concerns about rising violence and clashes between rival factions in the mainly Shiite south.Believe me, the clashes have nothing to do with al-Sadr's intention to stop the violence which he and his faction perpetrate. They just took a little break so as to have time to regroup. Unlike some, militant Muslims aren't defeatists.
