GARY SINISE: ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS

With a hat tip to Adrienne's Corner:

More about the Gary Sinese Foundation HERE

One of my former homeschool families is active in helping veterans and regularly works with Gary Sinise. This family says, "Gary Sinise is the real deal!"

Yes, America, we still have true patriots. Even in Hollywood.

OL' BLUE EYES

This song always makes me cry tears of happiness and patriotism:

The choral version:

REMEMBER D-DAY: JUNE 6, 1944

The following video was made by an 8th grader for a school project:

Two of my cousins served that day; one cousin was in the Army and the other in the Navy — at Omaha Beach, I believe.

Both men, in their late teens and early twenties respectively, came home physically whole, but they were never again whole psychologically. They refused to speak about what they experienced there, but we all knew that what they did and saw was horrible because they had nightmares for the rest of their lives. Nonetheless, they were among two of the staunchest patriots I have ever known, and they often said, "No regrets!" [about serving].

Both of my cousins died young: one at age 39 and the other at age 44.

Oath Keepers Publishes ‘Orders We Will Not Obey’

Though some might judge me a conspiracy nut for even posting this piece, I care little about what others think when I know something is right and just. After all, a majority of Americans voted for Barack Obama, proving anything is possible.

Anyway, someone visited Bob McCarty Writes today and, while here, posted a link in a comment below an NRA-related post. Normally, I delete comments like that one that consist entirely of a link directing people away from my blog and to another site. Today, however, I checked out the linked-to site and decided to share a portion of what it offers on this Independence Day Eve.

It turns out that visiting that site was worth my time. Read about it here.
