"I am humbled by the fact that so many Nebraskans have made an investment in my campaign," said Bruning. "Their confidence and trust has given me the momentum I need to win."
The finance reports show additional advantages for Bruning, who declared his candidacy for the seat held by Hagel on June 7 of this year. The Bruning Campaign received more than twice the money from individual contributors, bringing in $723,000 to Hagel’s $322,000. Bruning also has significantly more cash-on-hand than Hagel, $620,000 to $483,000 respectively.
"For a challenger to hold such an early advantage is unprecedented," said Bruning Campaign Manager Jordan McGrain. "We are in an incredibly strong position at this stage of the race."

SENATOR CHUCK HAGEL IN BATTLE FOR SEAT
Good news from Nebraska as the nation's worst Republican Senator is in a battle with an up-and-comer for his Senate seat. Attorney General Jon Bruning has raised almost twice as much money as Hagel in the second quarter.
Make the change, Nebraska, make the change.

WEEDING OUT THE GOP "DEAD WOOD": HAGEL MUST GO!
THE POPINJAY WROTE:
The Rockefeller Republicans are really turning on the conservative wing and making their displeasure with them known. It's time for action.
What should we do? I think in 2008, the Conservatives should follow this line of action: Get behind the best Republican candidate for President. Face up to the fact that there was only one Ronald Reagan and you're not going to find his clone in this race. Find the guy that comes the closest to Reagan in conservative principles and most importantly who is very hawkish on the War on Terror, whether it be Rudy, Fred or Mitt and do everything you can to get him elected. As for the Congress, that's where the conservative base needs to take a different approach. It's time to weed out the dead wood. The half-a-loaf approach in the hopes of getting/keeping a majority in either House Chamber has come back to bite us in the ass. It's given us the likes of Lindsey Graham, Mel Martinez, Arlen Specter and the like. Yes, it would suck if the Dems increased their numbers in '08, but sometimes it has to get worse before it gets better.
These are the guys that voted for Amnesty in the Senate: Bennett, Craig, Graham, Gregg, Hagel, Kyl, Lott, Lugar, Martinez, McCain, Snowe, and Specter. You could probably also throw in a few others who would have voted for it, if they thought it was the winning side, the most notable being Senator Sam Switchback and Senator Mitch McConnell who changed their votes. I'm inclined to cut McConnell a little slack as he is the Majority Leader who is somewhat obligated to serve the President and was very much in a no-win situation here. Anyway, the guys on this list have to go. Find a conservative candidate and get them to run in the primary. If they lose, then don't vote for the incumbent in the general election...let him go. If we lose seats, then we regroup and get better candidates in 2010.
Why not send a message with the presidency? Because the president is still the one person that can do the most important job in government: protecting the people. While this Amnesty debate was going on, we might have been inclined to forget that we're also at war with Islamofascists. We need a strong man leading this fight, but what we don't need any longer are guys like Lindsey Graham (who should be target #1) taking us to the dance and then ditching us for the drunk party-girl (for lack of a better metaphor).
Weed out the dead wood.
LET'S START WITH HAGEL.
HERE'S AN INTERVIEW WITH HIS PRIMARY OPPONENT BRUNING. READ IT. THEN SEND HIM MONEY.
WE NEED TO WEED OUT THE DEAD WOOD. TO DO THAT WE NEED TO DEFEAT THE RINOS IN THE PRIMARIES.
LET'S START WITH THE SENATOR FROM FRANCE, CHUCK HAGEL.
WE NEED TO PRUNE THE DEAD WOOD. WE'LL DO SOME PRUNING WITH BRUNING!

SENATE UNDERMINING OUR TROOPS
Now that the Senate has sided with Al Qaeda also, I just have 2 things to say. Chuck Hagel sucks!!
My awesome, Senator Kit Bond rocks!! This is what he had to say after the ridiculous bill passed:
"I am disappointed that my Democratic colleagues have set the stage for a veto of this critical bill. Earlier this month the Senate voted to give General Patraeus’ plan for a new direction in Iraq a chance. Unfortunately, today’s vote is a blow to these efforts. The bill to fund our warfighters has been used to undercut General Patraeus at this crucial time," Bond said in a release.
"Wars cannot be run from the halls of Congress 10,000 miles away from the war zone. I am frustrated that my fellow Senators feel they are better qualified to make these decisions than our soldiers, officers, and commanders in the field who are daily risking their lives to bring peace and security to Iraq."

RINO UPDATES ON MCCAIN AND HAGEL
If you want to hear passionate diatribes or see me ticked off just ask me my thoughts on RINO Republicans. The top 3 winners who most readily come to my mind are John McCain, Chuck Hagel and Arlen Specter. I am a loyal Republican but I have no use for the likes of them and don't consider them for the most part to even be Republicans. Therefore, it irritates me up when people bring up how even Republicans are against the war, look at Chuck Hagel. Mark Levin got a chuckle out of me when a Liberal brought this pathetic argument up and mentioned that Chuck Hagel is against the war and he is a Republican to which Levin said, "He is?"
So whats the latest on the top 2 RINO's? Hagel sticks another knife in the back by suggesting that impeaching Bush might be an option. What do you even do with this? Hagel is on some serious drugs if he thinks that he'll get 2 votes when running for the Republican nomination for President.
The news on McCain is so good its hard for me not to be gleeful. He admits that he's not going to meet his fund raising goals for this quarter. Memo to Senator McCain: Republicans don't take kindly to nominating someone who shows disdain for his own party.
