Iran has hanged a woman who killed a man she claimed was trying to sexually abuse her, despite an international campaign to stop the execution.Obviously, they don't want it recognized as self-defense. Ever.
Reyhaneh Jabbari died in a Tehran prison, reports the BBC.
The 26-year-old had been charged for killing a former employee of Iran's ministry of intelligence, Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi.
She had always claimed self-defense.
The interior designer claimed she was lured to his home on the pretense of work, but he then attacked her.
Jabbari, who was just 19 at the time, stabbed her attacker after the assault in 2007.
She admitted to the murder, but it was claimed that her confession was extracted from her under intense pressure by authorities.
Iran's current regime could explain why the effort to save Jabbari tragically failed. Only by deposing them will it be possible to put a stop to this barbarism.
