The idol looks like a gussied-up version of the Mexican god Tlaloc, and the headdresses of the kowtowing group around it look like what is worn by "Aztec" dance troupes south of the border.
The skull prominently featured where the idol's loins appear to be remind us, also, of the horrors of human sacrifice and cannibalism practiced in the Americas before the arrival of the evil Europeans. Maybe that's what they want to go back to.

You're right about the Moloch angle. It's really Huitzilopochtli they worship, and not Tlaloc.
And Moloch is just another name for Allah.
