South Vietnam, Iraq, and the Democrat Doves

The Democrat Doves are doing to Iraq what they did to South Vietnam - handing it on a silver platter to the enemy; THAT'S RIGHT: we didn't "lose Vietnam"; the Democrat Doves gave it to the communists YEARS after we left the war.

Here's what they did to the good people of South Vietnam:

US troops were completely out of Vietnam in March, 1973:

Vietnam War Timeline: 1973 - 1975

1973

15th Jan.
Nixon announces a halt to all U.S. offensive action against the North

27th Jan.
It is estimated that there is 145,000 NVA troops in South Vietnam

27th Jan.
Peace Pact is signed in Paris. End of military draft announced

10th March

ROK Capital Division returns home to South Korea.

18th March

Major Floyd Thompson is released by North Vietnam, he was captured in March 1964

28th March

1st Aviation Brigade leaves for home and is the cut of date for the award of the Vietnam Service medal and Campaign medal

29th March

MACV HQ is disbanded and the 18th MP Brigade leaves Saigon.

The withdrawal of all U.S. troops from South Vietnam is complete and release of 590 U.S. POW’s held by communist forces in Vietnam are completed.

During his confirmation hearings in June 1973, Secretary of Defense James R. Schlesinger stated that he would recommend resumption of U.S. bombing in North Vietnam if North Vietnam launched a major offensive against South Vietnam.

On 4 June 1973, the U.S. Senate [CONTROLLED BY DEMOCRATS] passed the Case–Church Amendment to prohibit such intervention.[257]
The South Vietnamese government stood on its own - with US financial aid and military advice for two years.

The Democrat Doves - leftist's all, like USSR, Cuba, and El Salvador appeaser AND "peace" activist John Kerry - cut off all aid in 1975 (WIKI):

The Viet Cong resumed offensive operations when the dry season began and by January 1974 it had recaptured the territory it lost during the previous dry season.
... [IN VIOLATION OF THE PARIS PEACE ACCORD]...
After two clashes that left 55 South Vietnamese soldiers dead, President Thieu announced on 4 January that the war had restarted and that the Paris Peace Accord was no longer in effect.

There had been over 25,000 South Vietnamese casualties during the ceasefire period.[258]

Gerald Ford took over as U.S. president on 9 August 1974 after president Nixon resigned due to the Watergate scandal.

At this time, Congress cut financial aid to South Vietnam from $1 billion a year to $700 million. The U.S. midterm elections in 1974 brought in a new Congress dominated by Democrats who were even more determined to confront the president on the war.

Congress immediately voted in restrictions on funding and military activities to be phased in through 1975 and to culminate in a total cutoff of funding in 1976.
So, instead of confronting the USSR backed communists of North Vietnam when they violated the Paris Peace Accord, the Democrats abandoned the small "d" democrats of South Vietnam.

And that's why South Vietnam fell in April 1975 (WIKI):

Chaos, unrest, and panic broke out as hysterical South Vietnamese officials and civilians scrambled to leave Saigon. Martial law was declared.

American helicopters began evacuating South Vietnamese, U.S., and foreign nationals from various parts of the city and from the U.S. embassy compound. Operation Frequent Wind had been delayed until the last possible moment, because of U.S. Ambassador Graham Martin's belief that Saigon could be held and that a political settlement could be reached.
Schlesinger announced early in the morning of 29 April 1975 the evacuation from Saigon by helicopter of the last U.S. diplomatic, military, and civilian personnel.

SAIGON FELL IN APRIL 1975 - TWO YEARS AFTER THE LAST USA CONBAT TROPP LEFT VIETNAM.

THE NORTH VIETNAMESE COMMIES DID NOT WIN THE WAR; THE DEMOCRAT DOVES OF CONGRESS WON THE WAR FOR THEM!

JUST AS THEY AND OBAMA ARE DOING NOW!

The Obama and the Democrat Doves - (which NOW includes Kerry in a more prominent role now than in 1975) - took power in the USA in 2009 and immediately signaled they would not do a damn thing to help Iraq stay secular and stable:
Obama then failed to sign a renewed status of forces agreement. According to David Filkens of the New Yorker:
[E]very single senior political leader, no matter what party or what group, including Maliki, said to them privately, we want you to stay. We don’t want you to fight. We don’t want combat troops. We don’t want Americans getting killed, but we want 10,000 American troops inside the Green Zone training our army, giving us intelligence, playing that crucial role as the broker and interlocutor that makes our system work. We want you to stay.
Filkens told NPR that James Jeffrey, an American ambassador, said he “got no guidance from the White House.”
On top of that Obama and the Democrat Doves released Abu Bakr - the leader of ISIS, the group that's instigated the crisis in Syria and which is also now in control of the Sunni region of Iraq - from Camp Bucca jail in Iraq.
Now, after

  • abandoning Mubarak, and
  • abandoning back-stabbing POS Kaddafy (who - it must be mentioned - at the time of his overthrow was aiding the West in out war against islamic extremists), and
  • abandoning the "red-line" he drew in Syria,

Obama's abandonment of Iraq is having its ENTIRELY PREDICTABLE EFFECT.
And the same effect the Democrat Doves had in South East Asia in the 1970's.
We predicted this before Obama was elected in 2008.

The only thing that can stop us from worse disasters is electing a GOP Senate.

Vote in November for the GOP.

It's November or never.

In fact, November might be too late....

Excellent post.

It is clear that Obama is viscerally sympathetic to the aims of the Muslim Brotherhood, as it is clear that John Kerry is sympathetic to socialist one-worldism.

Their actions are the result of their underlying points of view, not mistakes, failures, or the result of incompetence.

Once you realize that Obama is following his repeatedly expressed aim of weakening the United States and removing the United States from the world stage, you will see that he is actually quite competent, quite active, and quite bold.
