SHAS APPOINTS ARYEH DERI AS ITS SOLE CHAIRMAN

The one and only Aryeh Deri, the man with a track record of dhimmitude and corruption, has been approved at rabbi Ovadia Yosef's decision to resume his job as official chairman for Shas:

Shas Council of Torah Sages approved Thursday Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's decision, by which MK Aryeh Deri is to serve as the party's chairman. [...]

Following Deri's nomination, one of his supporters told Ynet: "Deri will topple this government, which is a government of religious persecutors. His power is in his wisdom. That's his top priority – to topple the government."

'Deri running the party'

According to a source affiliated with Rabbi Yosef, the decision to nominate Deri the sole chairman is attributed to recent failures Shas has been facing in the political arena, as well as to the approaching Chief Rabbinate election and the issue of haredi draft.

Failures Deri himself contributed to, but as history shows, there are examples of terrible people like him being promoted inexplicably despite all the obvious mistakes they're making. The man is an awful disaster and must be watched carefully, because it's pretty apparent he intends no good. He could even cause trouble for people living in Judea/Samaria, and even east Jerusalem. It's clear he has not turned over a new leaf all these years, and that's why he doesn't deserve any prominent job, let alone being a Knesset member.
