HOPEY-CHANGEY: One woman with 6 jobs to make ends meet. You know those jobs Obama says he created? She’s got 6 of them!

I WONDER.... WHEN THEY GOT THEIR 2ND OR 3RD JOB, WERE THEY "COUNTED" AS IF THEY WERE SOMEONE WHO HAD NO JOB WHO JUST GOT A JOB, AND IF THEY ARE, THEN WOULDN'T THIS SKEW THE "UNEMPLOYMENT" NUMBERS???
AND WHAT ABOUT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOST A HIGH-PAYING JOB, WHO - AFTER A YEAR OF UNEMPLOYMENT - TAKE A LOW-PAYING JOB?
WHEN THEY TAKE A CRAPPY JOB, ISN'T THEIR NEWLY FOUND EMPLOYMENT SEEMINGLY SIGNAL SOMETHING GOOD AS FAR AS THE "UNEMPLOYMENT" NUMBERS ARE CONCERNED - AND ISN'T THIS TRULY INACCURATE?
SO... WHEN THE CAREER BUREAUCRATS WORKING FOR OUR CAREER POLITICIANS TELL US "UNEMPLOYMENT" NUMBERS ARE IMPROVING, DON'T BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND.
THE ECONOMY SUCKS.
AND .... WE'RE HEADED FOR A GLOBAL CRASH THAT WILL MAKE THE 2008 CRASH LOOK LIKE A TINY CORRECTION.

I manage to cobble together barely enough money to get by. I work my teaching job three days a week (all that I can physically do now -- in part, because of my caregiving my husband) and "moonlight" as a tutor and educational consultant. All that work, and I make about 1/2 of what a first-year teacher does in this region.
Many others from all walks of life are doing something similar.
The economy sucks.
i admire so so much what you do.
my question is: how does the govt count that?
if they count payrolls, then they double count people with more than one job.
Reliapundit,
if they count payrolls, then they double count people with more than one job
I can't see any other way that the government determines employment figures -- except for counting the number of W-2's. A lot of people get more than one W-2.
But counting the W-2's would be possible only once a year. Employment figures are released more often than that.
BTW, IRS data is supposedly confidential. For example, if a prostitute reports income, then she cannot be arrested for tax evasion, nor can IRS report the illegal activity to law enforcement.
If employment figures are determined via the IRS, those figures would have to be separated along the lines of at least passive and active income. An example of passive income: being a landlord.
