WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE PERFORMING ARTS THESE DAYS ON THE LEFT? SIMPLE:
IN THE OLD DAYS - WHEN THE STUDIOS WERE RUN BY 1ST AND 2ND GENERATION IMMIGRANTS, HOLLYWOOD WAS PATRIOTIC.
NOW - IN THE POST-STUDIO ERA, THE BUSINESS IS EFFECTIVELY RUN BY BANKABLE STARS, AND THEY ARE ALMOST ALL METHOD ACTORS.
METHOD ACTING IS FUNDAMENTALLY A MORALLY RELATIVIST IDEOLOGY. HENCE, MOST ACTORS AND HOLLYWOOD ARE MORALLY RELATIVIST AND THAT MAKES THEM AND HOLLYWOOD PREDOMINANTLY POSTMODERNIST AND ANTI-AMERICAN.
ALSO: THEY WERE TAUGHT EUROPE IS SUPERIOR TO US - CULTURALLY AND POLITICALLY.

I would add that actors and acting represented up until the first third of the XXth century a job description attracting a rather high proportion of social deviants and psychologically disturbed individuals. In the past, audiences and the general public accepted this, and actors would never have been held up as exemplars of anything at all.
In the XXth century, with the advent of the motion picture industry and the publicity machine that fuels public interest in the lives of the stars, psychologically disturbed and socially deviant actors have been held up to the public as role models for fashion, social behavior, and political "thought."
To do so is obviously ridiculous.
However, as the ideology that dominates academia, members of the media, Hollywood, and other bastions of the cultural elite -revolutional post-modernist, multi-culturalist socialism- has increasingly embraced social deviancy and psychological maladjustment (in part because so many of its most prominent adherents are deviant crazies), the usefulness to the left of upholding socially deviant and psychologically disturbed actors as role models for young and old has become more obvious.
These individuals would do well to remember that Stalin assassinated Gorky when the latter wavered in his support for murderous tyranny,
stalin threw gorky under the bus, something obama is adept at.
I agree that Method Acting is morally relativist, but I think that ought to be a post in itself.
Additionally, the people who run the studios are all women, or were last time I checked. They make movies informed by Feminism, which is anti-hierarchical, and therefore, necessarily anti-Capitalist bullshit
