A $2MILLION DOLLAR HOME IN THE NYC SUBURBS:
A large police response descended on a house at 105 North Street in Rye this afternoon after a report of a possible home invasion and hostage situation that turned out to be a hoax. According to Rye Police Commissioner William Connors the department received two calls for help forwarded from the Rye Brook police department that came in as texts on the department’s line for hearing impaired people.
Connors said the first message reported three men inside the home with a shotgun. It also said the men had shot the sister of the person writing the message. It said the author was hiding under a bed and using furniture to barricade the bedroom door. The second message said the situation was getting worse. After those messages were received, Rye police also got a hang-up call on their 911 line they think might have been connected to the same incident.
Connors estimated about 25 to 30 officers responded to the scene, setting up a perimeter outside the house and making a “tactical entry” inside. They found a woman and three teenagers there unharmed.
Connors said the source of the phone messages and 911 call are under investigation, but, “There is no reason to believe the people in the house were involved with this.”
I WONDER WHO THE TARGET WAS THIS TIME?
