So, Ronald Reagan stating he wanted to cut nuclear arms is not relevant to your attack on President Obama for wanting to cut nuclear arms???
Ronald Reagan famously stated the following, "maybe I should go see Andropov and propose eliminating all nuclear weapons" and "my dream is to see the day when nuclear weapons will be banished from the face of the Earth".
Yet, when President Obama said,
“I state clearly and with conviction America's commitment to seek the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons” and took up the issue of limiting Nuclear proliferation and the START Treaty the Republican Party couldn't attack him fast enough.

there is less room for error.

further eroding our nukes and sending a signal of weakness and appeasement will only encourage our foes to develop nukes.
they will logically reason that they can eventually get on par with us if they build more and more as we reduce.
