She testified that contraception cost her $3000 per year.

I believe she did not make those numbers up out of whole cloth. I believe she probably based them on some real truth in her life.

So, here's a possible explanation.

Doctor visit (to obtain prescription): $75

Pap Smear (usually required by the Dr.) : $200 - http://cervicalcancer.about.com/od/screening/f/pap_cost.htm

The Pill at $9 per month = $108 per year

$108 + $200 + $75 = $383

Five abortions (after all, Planned Parenthood does abortions as part of their "Family Planning" list of services) at $468 a piece

http://civilliberty.about.com/od/abortion/f/Average-Cost-of-an-Abortion.htm

= $2340

$383 + $2340 = $2723.00 per year.

Aha! I think that Pastorius is right about Fluke's getting an abortion.

BTW, I've heard that one can get an abortion in D.C. for about $500. Perhaps Fluke had several abortions.

Can't get an abortion at GU, though.

One more thing....How much does an IUD cost?

fluke was no fluke: a total put up job. a plan. the dem-mfm complex that breitbart was trying to demolish.

we must continue to endeavor to persevere - as part of an army of davids - to make that happen,

I should have been clear about this. So, at the risk of being tedious, I'm going to be clear now:

I'm not joking.

I do believe she did not just make her numbers up. She is a long time activist. She knows how to represent her cause. The podium she has been given here is too expensive for her to just be winging it.

The ONLY way that contraception could add up to $3000 per year is if one has used expensive services repeatedly.

The pill is NOT expensive.

The services which are expensive are

ABORTIONS (which have an average national cost of $468)

and

RU-486 - which, with Dr. visits - have an average national cost of approximately $400

So, you see what I mean now.

On another website, I see that perhaps Fluke did not say it was $3000 per year, but $3000 over 3 years.

So, $1000 per year would be almost precisely the cost of 1 pap smear, 1 Dr. visit, the pill, plus one abortion.

Remember, abortion is part of the constellation of contraceptive options to these people.

Pastorius,
I see what you mean.

Yeah, it makes sense.
