- THE BEST WE CAN HOPE FOR IS THAT MUSLIMS SEE THAT THE CONFLICT IS BETWEEN ISLAM AND DEMOCRACY AND NOT THE WEST AND ISLAM AND THAT THEY BEGIN TO TURN AWAY FROM ISLAM AND TOWARD MODERNITY.
