WHAT EGYPT, LIBYA AND TURKEY TELL US ABOUT DEMOCRACY AND ISLAM

TWO ITEMS:
1 - The Muslim Brotherhood on Thursday demanded that Egypt’s military rulers cede control of the government, stepping closer to a long-anticipated confrontation between the ruling generals and the Islamist-dominated parliament.
2 - The country that witnessed the Arab world’s most sweeping revolution is foundering. So is its capital, where a semblance of normality has returned after the chaotic days of the fall of Tripoli last August. But no one would consider a city ordinary where militiamen tortured to death an urbane former diplomat two weeks ago...
ARAB SPRING?! NOPE.

MERELY UNLEASHED ISLAMO-THUGGERY AND ITS CONCOMITANT INTERNECINE WARFARE.
  • IF EVEN TURKEY CAN'T REMAIN DEMOCRATIC AND SECULAR AFTER 70 YEARS OF KEMALISM AND ATTATURK, THEN WHAT CHANCE DOES DEMOCRACY HAVE IN OTHER ISLAMO-DOMINATED NATIONS?
  • NEXT TO NONE.
  • THE BEST WE CAN HOPE FOR IS THAT MUSLIMS SEE THAT THE CONFLICT IS BETWEEN ISLAM AND DEMOCRACY AND NOT THE WEST AND ISLAM AND THAT THEY BEGIN TO TURN AWAY FROM ISLAM AND TOWARD MODERNITY.
