Don't assume too much, like assuming I'm a Santorum supporter just because I disagree with you about Mitt. I'm not a Santorum supporter. Nor a Gingrich, Paul nor Obama supporter.
ALL of the Republican candidates SUCK, and I'm convinced that's by design. ALL of them have one thing in common: they're statists (Paul may not be but he's an insane dickhead). Newt amounts to nothing more than a stalking horse intended to drive votes to Mitt. But since that the slaves haven't gotten in line behind the GOP's Anointed One (Romney) and Santorum has started to catch on, both the GOP and the Dems are shitting bricks because that wasn't according to The Plan of Permanently Shared Power between the Democrat Empire and the loyal, permanent, USELESS, BALL-LESS GOP opposition (see Boehner, for example).
Does any of this make Santorum a viable, desirable candidate, in my mind? No, for precisely the reasons you have rightly, repeatedly posted.
But the things you post about any non-Romney doesn't change the fact - and it IS a fact - that Romney cannot and will not win against Obama. He was a dud four years ago, he's a dud now. He - like Gingrich and Santorum - only wants to manage the monster the Dems and spineless Repubs created. NONE OF THEM want to DESTROY it.

First, did you even see the part where I said I'd vote for Mitt if he's the candidate? I will.
Second, have you noticed how you Mitt fans and Obots are just alike in one vital respect? That is, you cannot defend your guy based on his record - not if you want to convince people Mitt's really a conservative.
Problem you Mitt fans have is that Mitt DESPERATELY NEEDS true conservatives to win but, like Santorum, Mitt has a strong dislike for them. To Mitt's credit, he's done a better job than Santorum of hiding it, and Newt has long ago showed his ass on that. Still, Mitt can't possibly deliver conservatives because he can't FOOL them.
But hey...let's assume Mitt is the nominee, which is likely:
Scenario 1: Enough people vote ABO = Mitt wins the White House = more Republic-killing statism, only at a slightly slower pace. Mitt - this is a guarantee - slides back Leftward (oh, sorry, "to the center") and governs from there. Result: no change from the status quo under Obama. No substantial, necessary reversals of destructive Democrat policy (ditto that if Santorum and Newt wins, based on their records, too). Prove the likelihood of otherwise FROM MITT'S OWN RECORD. End result: next couple rounds of elections, true cons will stay home in pissed-off numbers like we've NEVER SEEN and Dems will take back Congress and the White House. The Republic dies; two-party statism wins. You guys blame anyone and everyone but Mitt and yourself.
Scenario 2: Obama unloads on Mitt for Mitt's own track record. Mitt loses to Obama = you guys blame US because we didn't fellate the corrupt, treacherous GOP like you did. It'll be ANYBODY'S fault but Mitt's for being a fake...it'll be ANYBODY'S fault but YOURS for believing his and the GOP's bullshit.
Either scenario, BET ON IT HAPPENING. I'll save this post and come back to haunt you with it.
