MAYBE OBAMA AND AXELROD THINK THAT SINCE THEY GET MOST OF THE POOR MINORITY VOTE, THAT THEIR CHANCES OF REELECTION WILL IMPROVE IF THEY MAKE MORE OF THEM!

And don't forget that what constitutes "poor" in the US is ridiculous as compared to most of the world.
A person classed as "poor" in the US has a house that for the average income European would be unaffordable, at least one relatively new car, 2-3 large screen televisions, microwave oven, etc. etc.
This not to state there's no poverty, but the cutoff below which someone's considered "poor" in the statistics is so high it's ridiculous.
