WHAT WE NEED MOST IN A PRESIDENT ISN'T GREAT INTELLECT; IT'S GOOD VALUES AND COURAGE

UPDATE:
Link
THE LEFT IS TROTTING OUT THE MEME THAT RICK PERRY IS DUMB.

OF COURSE HE ISN'T:
  • YOU CAN'T BECOME AN AIR FORCE CAPTAIN AND PILOT AND BE DUMB.
  • YOU CAN'T BECOME THE NUMBER ONE LEGISLATOR IN THE TEXAS LEGISLATURE AND BE DUMB.
  • YOU CAN'T BECOME THE AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER OF TEXAS AND BE DUMB.
  • YOU CAN'T BECOME THE LONGEST SERVING GOVERNOR IN TEXAS HISTORY AND BE DUMB.
NEVER THE LESS, THE LEFT IS TROTTING OUT THIS MEME.

WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE ELITISTS WHO THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN NON-LEFTISTS.

ACTUALLY IQ IS NOT AS IMPORTANT FOR BEING A GREAT POTUS AS LEFTIST MIGHT THINK.

HERE'S WHY:

The problems that end up on the President's desk in the Oval Office are not intellectual problems.

Crises that are Presidential level crises don't involve math or physics or chemistry or biology or grammar.

The President of the United States of America doesn't have to be able to win Jeopardy, or finish the NY TIMES crossword puzzle in record time, or do a Sudoku puzzle faster than anyone in Congress or on the Supreme Court.

The president doesn't have to be a scholar at Constitutional law or a wizard at finance and accountancy.

The President doesn't even have to be an expert at reading from a teleprompter with seeming conviction the speeches crafted by others.

The President has to have good values, the courage to defend them and the charisma to instill them.

Churchill said, "Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees the others."

And courage doesn't flow from intellect; it comes from a deeper place: faith.

SO...

When judging a person for the presidency, I will not be looking at either her or his intellect - and certainly not the superficial trappings of intellect, like loquacity, or what schools they attended.

I will be examining them in a different light.

I will be measuring them by their past actions and decisions:

Did they do what was right in relation to our values - or did they do the politically easy expedient thing.

Did they withstand the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune - or did they retreat in blaming others or bad luck.

Did they seek refuge in American values and faith in their fellow Americans - or did they pander to foreigners, the international community, and transnational bureaucracies.

On this level, George W. Bush is already proven to be a vastly better President than Obama.

WHY!? HOW!?

SIMPLE:

Bush ordered The Surge; Obama opposed it; Bush was right and Obama wrong. Had Obama been President we would be living in a vastly different and more dangerous world as a result of that bad decision.

NEED MORE PROOF!? SIMPLE:

Obama has been President nearly 3 years and has made countless bad if not awful decisions, and we are living in a vastly more dangerous world as a result.

If we want our nation to improve and the world to improve then we need a president with better values than Obama.

Having one smarter with the same values won't make our nation or the world a better place.

I think Perry and Palin and Bachmann off the most on this level. They have courage and good values.

And Perry has the most governmental experience by far - having served as a legislator, bureaucrat and chief executive of a big state.

Perry will have the courage to do what is right and he has the experience to manipulate through the political swamps.

And he has the charisma to lead.

THAT'S WHY - AS OF NOW - I SUPPORT RICK PERRY FOR PRESIDENT.

I've read everything I could that was truthful but not biased for or against Perry and I am impressed and I to support Perry for president. I also agree he can navigate the political swamp and MSM and Democrat lies with conviction of values and good humor and a sharp wit. I do put a little more credence in intelligence than you seem to think important and Perry could have never accomplished what he has or be so nimble minded with out it. A dunce with good values would be hard pressed to lead a nation or make important decisions.Just because liberals think a haaavad degree more important than anything doesn't mean we should discount a person's intelligence or schooling. I can appreciate the fact a president has the fortitude to educate themselves I see no need to bend completely the other way just to show I'm not a stupid liberal.

WELL SAID CABBY.

NEVER THE LESS:

I WOULD RATHER HAVE A GOODHEARTED WOMAN WHO IS NOT AN INTELLECTUAL AS POTUS THAN AN HIGH IQ MAN WITH EVIL INTENTIONS AND/OR BAD VALUES.
