President Obama speaks as he unveils the National Clean Fleets Partnership at a UPS shipping facility April 1 in Landover, Md. The five charter members of the partnership -- AT&T, FedEx, PepsiCo, UPS and Verizon -- will participate by incorporating electric vehicles, alternative fuels and fuel-saving measures into their daily operations in order to reduce diesel and gasoline use in their fleets.
President Obama directed federal agencies Tuesday to move toward buying -- by 2015 -- only alternative-fuel cars and light-duty trucks and to start with a pilot program of more than 100 electric vehicles.
WHY SHOULD THE USA TAXPAYER PAY MORE FOR THESE CARS!?!? IT MAKES NO SENSE.
EVEN IF THE USA LOWERED IT'S CO2 OUTPUT, BECAUSE CHINA'S IS GROWING SO FAST, IT WOULD HAVE NO EFFECT ON GLOBAL CO2.
NONE.
WHAT MAKES THIS AN EVEN BIGGGGGGGER WASTE IS THE FACT THAT MAN-MADE CO2 HAS NO EFFECT ON GLOBAL CLIMATE.
SCIENCE HAS PROVEN THAT IT'S TE COSMO RAYS, STUPID!
CONGRESS OUGHT TO BE BUYING USA MADE TURBODIESELS THAT ARE VERY FUEL EFFICIENT. AND CHEAPER.

Every one of these purchases is, in effect, an additional subsidy. As I recall, with subsidies, these cars already cost about $50K a piece. This may put them over $100K.
Outlandish.
