The G8 called for a renewal of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians and expressed support for US President Barack Obama's peace plan, in a statement released Friday.THEY DID COME OUT AGAINST ANY UNILATERAL STATEHOOD ACTION - WHICH IS GOOD, BUT THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE EXPLICITLY ENDORSED OBAMA'S DECLARATION THAT THE 1967 BORDERS SHOULD BE THE BASIS OF LAND SWAPS. THIS IS THE ARAB POSITION, AND IT MEANS THEY HAVE TAKEN SIDES AND ARE NOT NEUTRAL.
... "To that effect, we express our strong support for the vision of Israeli-Palestinian peace outlined by President Obama on May 19, 2011."
... The statement also called for "the easing of the situation in Gaza"
AND ANOTHER THING:
HAVE YOU NOTICED HOW THE G8 MAKE NO STATEMENT ON CHECHNYA OR THE BASQUES OR NORTHERN IRELAND OR TIBET OR THE BREAK-UP OF BELGIUM. OR ANY OTHER INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT?
WHY DO THEY MEDDLE IN ISRAEL'S AFFAIRS?
WELL, AS EUROPEANS AND LEFTISTS THEY BASICALLY HATE JEWS.
AND AS COWARDS THEY APPEASE MUSLIMS.
LIKE WHEN THEY CARVED UP SERBIA TO MAKE YET ANOTHER MUSLIM STATE - KOSOVO.
THE SAD TRUTH IS: PEACE HAS NEVER BEEN ACHIEVED THROUGH APPEASEMENT.
ONLY UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER TURNS A VIOLENT FOE INTO AN ALLY.
SIGH.
IF THEY REALLY WANTED PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, THEN THEY'D USE ALL NECESSARY LETHAL FORCE AND ATTACK KHADAFFY AND HAMAS AND HIZBALLAH AND ASSAD AND THE MULLAH TYRANTS IN IRAN.
ULTIMATELY, THE ROAD TO PEACE GOES THROUGH TEHRAN.
