NYTimes: For Muslims, Day of Celebration Amid Controversy
The American Muslim Day Parade, an annual event since 1985, was held Sunday in Manhattan.WHAT A LOAD OF UNADULTERATED DHIMMI CRAP.
The scene seemed surreal, yet oddly poignant: at a silent, deserted intersection in the center of Midtown Manhattan, beneath bland corporate logos and brick office buildings, hundreds of Muslims knelt on a sprawling tarpaulin, faced due east and commenced the midday call to prayer.
The ceremony, held along a blocked-off portion of Madison Avenue, marked the start of the American Muslim Day Parade on Sunday, an annual event, first held in 1985, that brings together Muslims of many ethnicities and nationalities who worship in the New York region.
The parade is intended as a celebration of diversity and pride in the Muslim community, but this year it had a difficult context: national controversies over a planned Islamic center and mosque near ground zero, the threatened desecration of Korans by anti-Muslim ministers, and recent incidences of what the authorities called hate crimes against Muslims, including a New York City cabdriver who was slashed.

2 - THE CABBIE WAS SLASHED BY AN ANTIWAR/PRO-MOSQUE NUTCASE WHO OBVIOUSLY THOUGHT HE WOULD ESCAOE CAPTURE AND THAT IT WOULD BE BLAMED ON THE RIGHT-WING.
3 - THIS PRAYING IN THE STREET CRAP IS CREEPING SHARIA. THEY DO IT EVERY WEEK NOW IN FRANCE. THEY DO NOT DO IT IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES. IT;S A WAY OF ENCROACHING AND THEY'RE ATTEMPTING TO DESENSITIZE US.
THE NYTIMES AND THE LIBS MAY THINK THEY'RE BEING SWEET WHEN THEY GIVE ISLAM THIS TREATMENT, BUT IT'S NOT RESPECT; IT'S APPEASEMENT.
IF MUSLIMS WANT RESPECT THEN THEY CAN HUNT DOWN AND KILL THE TALIBAN AND AL QAEDA AND ALL THE OTHER ISLAMIST RADICALS.
ANYTHING LESS IS CRAP.
WE CAN END ALL THIS DHIMMI CRAP IN NOVEMBER: VOTE GOP.

Performing the salat en masse on a public street in a non-Muslim city is in essence a "demonstration" in the military tactical sense, i.e. a show of force.
As has been noted before (mainly by Indian historians) the public form of Muslim worship very obviously resembles a close-order military drill that is designed to impress both the worshipper and the observer with the unity, obedience, and discipline of the Islamic horde.
The set postures and maneuvers performed in unison in a public space such as an avenue in New York City are a challenge and a threat.
Through terror and intimidation, shariah law is being imposed on this country step by step, slowly, and by the time the water in the pot reaches the boiling point, and the frogs finally notice how hot it is, it will be too late.
The time to stop this horde of would-be conquerors is now.
A good start could be made on November 2nd . . .
