WILL OBAMA ALLOW NORTH KOREA TO GET AWAY WITH TORPEDOING A SOUTH KOREAN SHIP?

BBC:

A North Korean torpedo sank a South Korean navy ship in March causing the loss of 46 sailors, an international report has found.

Investigators said they had discovered part of the torpedo on the sea floor and it carried lettering that matched a North Korean design.

The Cheonan went down near the disputed inter-Korean maritime border, raising tension between the two nations.

North Korea has denied any involvement in the sinking on 26 March.

The BBC's John Sudworth in Seoul says the next step of agreeing a response will be difficult as the diplomatic options will be limited.

• WE MUST DEMAND KIM JUNG IL AND ALL OF HIS TOP MILITARY COMMANDERS IMMEDIATELY SURRENDER TO THE ICC IN THE HAGUE FOR A TRIAL - THE MURDER OF THE 46 SAILORS.

• IF THEY DELAY, WE SHOULD ENFORCE A TOTAL AIR, SEA, AND ELECTRONIC BLOCKADE ON NORTH KOREA UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THEY ARE TURNED OVER TO CHINA FOR A TRIAL.

• IF THEY ARE NOT TURNED OVER IN DUE COURSE. THEN WE SHOULD ATTACK PYONGYANG WITH EVERYTHING WE'VE GOT - AT ANY TIME OF OUR CHOOSING.
  

YES: THIS IS HARSH, BUT IF WE RESPOND WEAKLY, THEN WE'RE JUST INVITING EVEN MORE TROUBLE FROM EVEN WORSE ENEMIES.
