Janey Cutler, an 80-year-old mother of seven, grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of four, from Wishaw, Lanarkshire wowed judges by giving an incredible rendition of French legend Edith Piaf's song Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien (No Regrets).
Cutler has been dubbed NuBo (New Boyle) by the UK press because of the similarities in the way both her and SuBo (Susan Boyle's) singing talents were discovered.
ENJOY:
LIKE PAUL POTTS AND SUSAN BOYLE, JANEY CUTLER IS SO REAL YOUR CAN FEEL HER - A QUALITY MANY POP STARS LOSE AS THEY BECOME CANNED-SOUNDING, FAKE - AND ... TOO PERFECT.
(PREVIOUS POSTS ON POTTS HERE, AND ON BOYLE HERE.)
AUDIENCES RESPOND MORE POSITIVELY TO IMPERFECTIONS BORN OF REAL-LIFE AND LIFE'S REAL PAINS, STRUGGLES AND LOSSES THAN TO PERFECTION; IT'S SYMPATHY AND IT'S REALLY WHAT DRIVES PEOPLE TO NEED AND LOVE PERFORMANCES OF SONG AND DRAMA TO BEGIN WITH.
