Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) on Wednesday unveiled their nearly 1,000-page climate change bill, flanked by environmentalists, religious and ex-military leaders and energy industry officials.NO BILL THAT'S 1000 PAGES CAN BE GOOD.
But the glaring absence of a GOP senator underscored the bill’s gloomy future in the 111th Congress.
CHANGES THAT REQUIRE 1000 OR MORE PAGES ARE TOO BIG.
- TOO BIG TO UNDERSTAND BEFORE VOTING.
- TOO BIG NOT TO HAVE ENORMOUS UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES.
WE OUGHT TO PUT A PLANK IN OUR PLATFORM THAT NO BILL SHOULD EXCEED 25 PAGES.
