YWL - (VIA INSTAPUNDIT):As the National Security Adviser, General James Jones is not known as a friend of the Jewish State. It was Jones who put together the team of Brent Scowcroft and Zbigniew Brzezinski to meet with the President and advise him to impose a solution on Israel.
Earlier this week we may have gotten some insight into why Jones is not a fan of the Jewish Homeland. He was giving the key note speech at a Washington Institute For Near East Policy and started it out with a "Joke" that borders on anti-Semitic, teaching the crown that Jews are just greedy merchants in the same vein as Shakespeare's Shylock:
GO THERE; READ THE WHOLE THING, AND THE JOKE.
- AS A JEW - AND AS AN AMERICAN WHO FEELS THAT AN ANTI-SEMITE AND ANTI-ZIONIST HAS NO PLACE ON OUR NATION'S FOREIGN POLICY TEAM OR HAVING ANY RESPONSIBILITY OVER OUR NATIONAL SECURITY, I DEMAND THAT OBAMA FIRE HIM.
- OR OBAMA CAN IGNORE THE WHOLE THING AND ESSENTIALLY ADMIT FOR ALL TO SEE THAT HE'S AN ANTI-SEMITE, TOO.

This may be why Zero appointed the overt Communist and 'truther' Van Jones, and quickly fired him, so every other appointment he makes will look good in comparison.
I like the joke.
Amply demonstrated the superior brain power of Jewish businessman vs Muslim idiot fighter.
good job, general Jones
"the joke drew a wave of laughs and applause from participants, many of whom are Jewish. The Washington Institute, an independent think tank widely seen as being pro-Israel, was founded by Jewish donors who are now on the institute’s board."
the point of the joke is the customer was a Taliban militant.
The Jewish merchants had plenty of good reason to treat that customer as they did -- and what is more, had the customer taken the first merchant's advice (which he refused), he would have been okay. Don't see that this joke is playing on bad Jewish stereotypes at all.
This particular joke is as very old in the past Jews laughed heartily at its contents! All of a sudden some consider it repugnant. Get a life and enjoy humor.
I thought the Joke was absolutely HILARIOUS and I'm an American Conservative Jew. I actually have no idea why there is *any* push-back on this joke. It's simply funny as hell. What's more, Jones (not a person who I particularly like) delivered it *well*.
Really, fellow Jewish Conservatives, this is the type of reaction I would expect from our liberal brethren. This is *not* something to get upset about even if you felt the "Jew is the Joke" acted somewhat impolitely (which, really, he did not). I frankly do not see why a Jewish Conservative would have any problem with a joke like this -- and I happen to actually be particularly sensitive to off-color Jewish jokes -- which, again, I do *not* think this was.
i am a conservative jew too.
it's an old joke.
and maybe okay when a jew tells it.
but when a non-jew who is pursuing an anti-zionist policy tells it ti smacks of insensitivity and or slimy patronizing.
